Super Mario Run iOS Release Date Announced

It’s been a while since we’ve had a new Mario game, so fans are happy that Super Mario Run is on the way. A few months back, Apple and Nintendo revealed that Mario would finally be making his way to iOS devices with the new game.

Now we have an exact release date: December 15th, 2016. On that day, the game will be available to play on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. You can download it for free, but you’ll only be able to play parts of the game’s three modes without paying more. If you want to unlock the full game, you’ll have to pay $10(USD). This freemium approach is a slight departure from the earlier announcement that there would be no in-game purchases – though it’s not a bad price for a complete Mario game.

Super Mario Run will be available in 151 countries and in 10 languages including English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Russian and traditional Chinese. So, basically Mario is doing a world tour.

Android users will get a chance to play the mobile game at some point too. We just don’t know when right now.
