The Spinner 360 is a Lomo camera that allows you to take 360 degree panoramic shots, in complete low-tech style. The camera spins around, thanks to a handy drawstring, capturing one long image. Now, why didn’t I think of that? It’s an interesting addition to any lomographer’s arsenal.

The Spinner 360 uses 35mm film and spins its lens around, thanks to the aforementioned drawstring. You can decide whether to use 1/125 or 1/250 of a second or release it slower so that you can capture longer exposure footage, all in 360 degrees on a single strip of film. It even allows you to capture vertical panoramas. This low-tech approach to panoramas is certainly something uncanny, especially when you see the results.

Spinner 360 sells from Lomography.com starting at just $99 (USD). Pictured here is the special edition, covered in Italian toledo leather – which currently goes for $149.

The latest rumors on Microsoft’s next generation Xbox are making their way around the tubes – and the latest rumor is that there will be two separate consoles – one for hardcore gamers, and one that is aimed at a more casual gaming audience that would be cheaper and less powerful.

The cheaper version of this next-generation console would be more like a set-top box. Chances are it will still support Kinect, but the games may be download only, maybe with some non-gaming content like Netflix.

The high-end version, rumored to be called the “Xbox 720″ or codename “Loop” would be closer to what we have now, with a disk drive and a hard drive. It would also be backwards compatible with 360 games. There is speculation that it could have two separate graphics chips as well, but that may be wishful thinking.

These rumors make a lot of sense. Not everyone needs an Xbox for hardcore games. Chances are they would sell a ton of cheaper units, adding up to more sales overall.

Why would you need it? It’s supposed to make gaming a lot easier thanks to its special button extenders.

After looking at it for a few moments, you start to realize that this might be a good idea, especially if you play for hours on your Xbox 360. The new version comes with a jet-black rubberized finish, which will ensure that it will remain in your hands, no matter how sweaty they get. There are also extra parts that will allow you to customize it further. In case you’re wondering how it works, here’s a video of the first-generation Avenger in action:

You can buy one Avenger for $50 (USD)but if you buy two, the company will send you a third one for free.

I think what I love most about steampunk-styled Xbox 360 mods is that they just don’t go together at all. Top hats, monocles, and a spot of Halo–no, I don’t think that would have been seen as quite proper. But as odd a combination as the two things might be, they certainly result in an amazing end product.

deviantARTist Dopelgunder calls the work on this mod “lazy” at times, but unless you’re looking at the large detail shots, it’s hard to see anything that doesn’t look amazing. I think that means it would work just fine sitting on a shelf. I’d be more than willing to try it on my shelf.

We see loads of Xbox 360 mods, and Nintendo DS mods, too. I’d like to see more custom PS3s and PSPs, though I’m not sure how well steampunk, for instance, would work with either. I’m more than willing to look at ‘em, though, so someone should get to work on that.

The Home of the Whopper has announced an promotion for the holiday season in which they will be offering three surreal Burger King themed games for the Xbox and Xbox 360. Titles include “Pocket Bike Racer,” “Sneak King,” and “Big Bumpin’.” The games will feature “popular” BK regulars including The King, Subservient Chicken and the highly untalented Brooke Burke. The games were developed by Blitz Games, known for such video gaming gems as “Bratz: Forever Diamondz” and “Bad Boys II” (although they also did Karaoke Revolution which wasn’t bad.)

For what it’s worth the games will only cost $3.99 each with the purchase of a value meal between November 19th through December 24th.

I’m still wondering why they didn’t adapt the classic, Burgertime.
