What you’re looking at here (obviously) is a zombified version of none other than Steve Rogers himself after being infected. The detail on this custom zombie Captain America by Ben Franklin Zombies are awesome. I just love the gory face details, and the shield – which have clearly seen better days.

Ben started out with a regular 1/6th scale Captain America action figure, and added a custom resin headsculpt, along modifications to the zombie Avenger’s plastic body, and an intricate, distressed paint job to finish things off.

On a totally unrelated note to politics, the President as the Incredible Hulk is the last thing I ever thought I’d see. But here it is, in all it’s hulky massiveness: Barack Obama as the Hulk.

The figure was created by Ron English, a well-known artist creates awesome works of art for a living. Unsurprisingly, his Joe Biden action figure is nowhere to be found.

The answer was… it didn’t take long. Apple apparently sent the company a nice “we will sue you into ten generations of poverty if you make this collectible figure” letter. In Icons has now announced that it will not sell the action figure after receiving the legal letters from Apple and the Jobs family.

The man behind the action figure company still thinks he thinks he is not breaking the law to make the collectible figure and only made it as a tribute to Jobs. However, he says that he has decided to cancel plans to make the action figure to consider the feelings of the Jobs family. Anyone who pre-ordered the figure will receive a refund.

There’s just something about this little green guy that is so cheerful and playful. Plus if you really do love the Android OS, it’s nice to have something to collect and display on your shelf. This guy features movable arms and a rotating head. Standing at just 3.25″ tall, he’s the perfect size to keep you company at your desk and not get in the way.

This fully licensed little green ‘droid will cost you just $7.99 (USD) from Thinkgeek. How could any self respecting geek resist?

In addition to Bouncer, the latest action figure collection includes Big Daddy Rosie and Brute, Crawler and Ladysmith Splicer figures. And the “ultra deluxe” Big Daddy Bouncer even has LED lights inside his helmet that light up and change colors. Sweet. The figures each measure about 7-inches tall and most come with props and articulated joints.

Bouncer is already available, Rosie hits in June and the Splicers arrive in Rapture starting in July. Prices for the BioShock action figures range from $14.99 to $19.99 over at Entertainment Earth. Tonics and ADAM not included.

This statue is about 11 inches in height and comes with a 4-inch, mustachioed, steampunk Tony Stark. Kuriscak frankensteined the sculpture together from an old NFL action figure. Then some Transformers were added while the arms came from a robotic Hulk figure.

Kuriscak admits that he had to do a lot of sculpting with plastic in order to get the look just right. It even includes a light feature, that flickers on and off to give the effect of a that it’s powered by steam.  Current bids on the auction put it around $175 (USD), but it’s still got 2 days left.

Kuriscak’s next sculpture is going to involve a steampunk Thor.

Two series of 6-inch-tall figures are set to ship this Fall, with September’s Series 1 featuring Rick Grimes (looks like he found his bag of guns), Michonne, a Zombie Lurker and a Zombie Roamer. The second series ships in November and includes an alternate version of Grimes, Daryl Dixon, a Zombie Walker and a Zombie Biter. The toys each have articulating joints and the zombies even have some removable limbs and other body parts. And from the looks of the early prototype of Michonne that MTV’s Splash Page managed to dig up, she’s got a sword and a drill on hand for plenty of brutal zombie-killing action.

All eight figures are available for pre-order over at Entertainment Earth for $14.99 (USD) each, or in sets of 4 for $55.99. While you wait, you can check out more pics over on Facebook. Personally, I wish they would make one with Merle Dixon with a removable hand.

As with his Yoshi and Mario Mechs, KodyKoala used a 10″ vinyl Luigi figure as his base. He said that he also used some LEGO bricks, although I can’t see where those bricks are. Perhaps they’re the monitors inside the mech.

The hinge is a nice touch. You can bid for the Luigi Mech on eBay; as of this writing the minimum bid required is $10.49 (USD), but surely the price will go up for all this work. KodyKoala says this might be the last of his custom action figures, unless Nintendo releases vinyl figures of their other characters, so better bid for this now if you’re interested.

The officially licensed Sackboy Computer Gear action figure comes in two sizes – the 3″ figure sells for appx. $8 (USD), while the 6″ figure sells for $20. You can order one at Firebox.

The RX-78-2′s head and arms are movable, making for awesome poses. Maybe it can even cradle a baby it in it’s arms!

The least they could have done was include a tiny oxygen mask for Jake so he could go outside on Pandora. But it looks like Sully definitely has to remain confined to his earthly quarters. The only “action” wheelchair Jake Sully (I really want to say “Jake Soooo-Lee”) will see is inside of his Avatar control bed (also not included.)

If you really want one of these stupid things on your desk, you can grab one over at Entertainment Earth for about $13 bucks. Personally, I’m saving my money for an investment in an unobtanium mine.

McElhinney uses recycled toys for his creations, bonded together (with a katamari?) and then coats them in a high gloss polyurethane lacquer. While the design each piece is similar, the overall look of each finished product is unique because they’re made of a different bunch of toys; look at the lamps below for example.

I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw this. Jin made the Dr. McNinja figure using a Firefly head and an SDCC Destro body. The coat was taken from an ROC The Doctor figure,  while the sword and sheath are from a Paris Snake Eyes figure. The stethoscope was made with using headphone wire. Awesome awesome figure. Now I know that there’s an official RE 5 Chris Redfield action figure, but I want to show Jin’s mixing and matching (and painting) skills, so here’s Jin’s take on the zombie-slaying cop:

Chris Redfield is made of  a custom Chris head from Broken Arrows Toys, a Firefly/beach head body, Storm Shadow upper arms joined to Tiger Force Flint lower arms,  Resolute Duke hands and legs, and some custom weapons from Marauder Gun-Runners. Finally we have Jin’s Air Man. Even though Dr. McNinja is still my favorite Jin Saotome creation, special mention goes to Air Man, probably the most complex of Saotome’s action figures. Air Man’s chest fan actually works and is battery powered. And even if it didn’t, man, look at the details!

Air Man is made of the following: an Animated Wolverine Colossus sans head with sculpted eyes for the upper body, Astro Boy Peace Keeper arms and lower legs, and Accelerator Suit Snails upper legs and waist. Jin made Air Man’s fan using styrene sheeting and a Nokia cellphone vibration motor.  The magnetic Wind Gust was taken from a DCU Red Tornado action figure. Unfortunately some lucky bastard already owns Air Man, and Jin says he had an insanely difficult time with the figure so he won’t be making another Air Man anytime soon.

The toy isn’t too expensive at $45 (USD), but it’s..well it looks like a toy, not a badass truck robot with ninja moves and a deep deep voice. Fortunately, you don’t have to settle for the vanilla Prime. Professional customizer Crefigz (short for creative figz) modified the hell out of the Hasbro version to make it look more like the movie version of Optimus Prime and posted it at Figure.fm. Unfortunately I had to convert the pics to a lower resolution to fit here, but even still you’d have to be blind to not be able to see the detail and the bling on Crefigz’ work. To emphasize how much work he did – and the quality of his customization – let’s look at the vanilla Prime:

No match. Crefigz’ Prime can beat vanilla Prime just by showing up on the battlefield. As you can see the toy was completely repainted and chromed-out, so that the finished product actually looks like a miniature Optimus Prime, made of metal and red flames and awesome. Let’s compare the vehicle modes:

Again, it’s not so bad. It’s a toy truck. Here’s Crefigz Prime in vehicle mode:

Are your minds re-blown? I still can’t believe the transformation. Heheh. Transformation. Good one.

Aside from the chrome and the awesome paint job – by the way the flames are not decals, they’re painted on as well – Crefigz also did the following: “Added ball joint in neck in order to get more articulation,  modded hand from TFTM 07 Leader Class Optimus Prime, modded blaster from TFTM 07 Leader Class Optimus Prime and added custom side mirror to get a more accurate detail level.”

Here are a couple of close-ups on Crefigz Prime’s weapons and chest, just to show you the amount of work that went in to this mod.

I really love how the toy looks like it’s made of metal. Crefigz is selling this mod on eBay; bid starts at $710. Yeah it’s a ridiculous price for a toy, but it’s a ridiculously well-done mod as well. In fact, there are already 16 bidders for Crefigz Prime as of this writing. J-List is now offering a pack that features 4 of Soundwaves’ minions…but without a Soundwave toy to go along. That’s like Billy Lee without Jimmy Lee. A Single Dragon. That’s just bad and wrong. Oh yeah pics:

I can’t read Japanese so I’m going to take a guess and say that that’s Rumble on the far left, followed by his palette-swap, Frenzy. Unless it’s the other way around. But I’m quite sure that the T-rex is Overkill, and the falcon of course is the infamous Laserbeak.

Cram that into your little heads, kids: a microcassette (ask your elders what that is) that turns into a dinosaur. How’s that for imagination. If Transformers was conceptualized today, these four would probably be micro SD cards. Which would make Soundwave a card reader. Good thing that’s not the case. These diabolical storage media can be yours for a mere $45 (USD) at J-List. They’re listed as Vol. 3 of a collection, but J-List doesn’t have Vol. 1 & Vol. 2. No Soundwave toy either.
