Hrmageddon: is This How Mergers Should be Done?

I’ve been a cubicle dweller several times, although all of them short-lived. Corporate vets may be more amused at Thup Games’ HRmageddon, a Flash game which puts the gore in merger. What? Anyway. HRmageddon’s “story” starts when your company, Gray Solutions, merges with Beige Dynamics. The problem? The number of openings remain the same, but the number of employees have doubled. The higher ups’ solution, delivered to you via an attached PowerPoint presentation:

Battles take place tactics-style. To win, you must kill all of the rival employees, or capture more cubicles than the opposing team. Employees consist of managers, receptionists, IT guys and salesmen, with varying specialties and attack ranges. Before each battle, you choose which of these employees and how many of each type to hire, as long as you spend within the budget. There are power ups on the field too, all of them office related as well, e.g. “Holiday Bonus”, which heals a unit and bestows a temporary attack bonus.

The game is kinda slow-paced, but the animations made me stick with it, especially the salesman’s attacks and the manager’s moves. Check out the HRmageddon at Adult Swim. Mountain Maniac: It’S Hammer Time!

Here’s a fun little game if you’re looking for a fun way to kill a little time today. Mountain Maniac is a wonderfully retro-styled Flash game that involves a little pixelated guy and a hammer (and no, it’s not Donkey Kong).

The game puts you in the role of both the hammer-wielding Maniac, along with the boulder he knocks from the earth when he bashes the mallet into the ground. The objective of the game is simple. Steer the unleashed boulder to wreak as much havoc as you possibly can as it careens down the mountainside to the town below.

Your boulder bounces off of trees, cars, and woodland creatures as it makes its way to the little town below. Think of it like Pachinko meets Burnout’s addictive crash mode meets any game you ever played on your Atari 800. There’s even a bonus level that involves smashing forest rangers and armed guards with your hammer. How can you resist?

Aqua Teen Hunger Force Game Announced

Midway and Cartoon Network have revealed that they’re working on a new game based on the popular Adult Swim cartoon, Aqua Teen Hunger Force. The game, titled Aqua Teen Hunger Force Zombie Ninja Pro-Am, will be an action-adventure game featuring “combat golf” (whatever that means,) cart racing among other things.

According to ATHF series creators Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis, “This golden chalice represents a new age in gaming, the likes of which has never before been seen on this planet. The weak will tremble at the awesomeness of our full color, hand-made graphics!” With an endorsement like that, I can only imagine that the game will be better than God of War, Halo, Super Mario Brothers and Grand Theft Auto 3 all rolled into one.

The game is expected to hit stores this Fall for the PlayStation 2, following the release of the upcoming ATHF movie, coming out this April.
