Modder GivinTats originally did another Alien casemod a while back, and then had someone reach out to him to make a custom mod featuring a gory Chestburster pushing its way out of the side of a poor old 1st gen PlayStation 3.

Since the original movie Chestburster is said to assimilate some traits of its host, GivinTats decided to make him a bit of an alien cyborg instead of a straight-up organic creature. Check out the blood, guts and parts spraying forth from the side of the PS3. Yummy. The broken circuit board coming out of the cracked open case carcass is an especially nice touch – although it would suck if that were the actual circuitry from the PS3 itself.

The brain slugs of Futurama were pastrified using gum paste for the slug’s body, royal icing for the eyes, flower stamen for the antennae, and cherry butter cream for brains, all on top of poor vanilla cupcakes. Bake them at your own risk.

Fresh off the boat from Japan, this USB gadget looks just like the grotesque giant-headed, acid-blood-dripping, eponymous alien of Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien vs. Predator, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, Alien: Resurrection (and the soon-to-be Alien prequel).

Just plug the nasty thing into your USB port, its grotesque inner mouth randomly pops out of it’s mother mouth, backlit by a glowing red LED. Yummy.

Lasse Klein’s whimsical lamp design first showed its face on Technabob all the way back in June 2007, and it’s taken over 2 years for a final production version of the lamp to find its way to our humble M-Class planet. That sure was a long extraterrestrial journey.

The final version of the lamp features LED that light up the alien cockpit, and a shiny steel retro alien spacecraft hovering atop an illuminated acrylic tractor beam, which itself rests on a fake grass base. With a touch of the antenna, you can flip between an always on or pulse lighting effect behind the windows. And when the lights are off, the aliens glow in the dark. Plus, it comes with a plastic cow – perfect for alien experimentation. Just don’t expect to read by this lamp – it’s really just an accent piece.

While the final version of the lamp isn’t identical to Klein’s original prototype, I still think it’s really cool. The Alien Abduction lamp is available in a an initial limited edition run of just 2000 spacecraft. You can order one here for $100 (USD).

These fun UFO USB flash drives come to us courtesy of crafter OrigamiMe (yeah, I know this isn’t origami). Each one stores 4GB of your otherworldly data, and is hand-carved from basswood and painted with shiny chrome enamel paint to look just like one of those retro 1950s spacecraft.

Sure, it’s not the most practical looking USB drive I’ve ever seen, but it could be the coolest. You can get yours over at OrigamiMe’s Etsy shop for $30 (USD).

The soap, shown here next to lesser, non-bacony soap for size comparison, is also available in a fruitier version for those of you who don’t want to step out of the shower smelling like bacon. For $9, you can get a 10 ounce bar of orange- or bacon-scented glycerin soap, and a fresh (sort of) scent that will stick to you all day.

Bacon soap will either bring people closer or drive them away, and I’m not really sure which one is better.

The titular aliens from the Alien films are, in my opinion, right at the top of the scariness chart, which means I never, ever thought I’d say anything based on their design was at all cute. And yet, I find the little tiny LEGO alien pretty adorable. I think this is what it must feel like when you think the sky is falling.

Creator onosendai2600 isn’t just fascinated with the aliens; there are all sorts of projects on that Flickr stream–there just aren’t quite any that are as scary-yet-cute as this.

These little spherical lamps sure look like some sort of retro spacecraft to me, especially the glowing green part, and the tripod legs.

Created by Japan’s IDEA Label, each light stands about 3 feet tall, and has a bright LED that gets its juice from solar energy. As an added bonus, they’re waterproof, so you can actually line up a bunch of these in your front yard and they’ll be convinced the aliens have landed when the sun goes down. In addition to the bright green one, they’re also available in pink, orange and clear – but seriously, what’s the last time you saw a pink alien spaceship? What sort of fools do they take us for?

As is the case with many of the offbeat products from Japan, they’re not currently available elsewhere. For now, I guess you’ll have to admire them from afar over on the IDEA shop for ¥1575 (appx. $17 USD) each.

Just order the Giant Alien 400% Kubrick toy from ThinkGeek for $60 USD. If you’re still afraid of it, at least you won’t need a space shuttle’s engine to defeat it.

Tattoo artist / casemodder GivinTats, created this creepy looking case by hand-sculpting layers of epoxy putty – the same stuff use to mend dented car fenders. Once dried the shell turned out about as hard as metal. Followed up with an ample coating of the appropriately named Chaos Black paint – et voilà – bony Alien swimming in primordial black soup.

Now I can’t make out all of the details of the Alien creature(s?) from these photos, but if I saw this thing sitting in my entertainment center one day, I think I’d have to get out the flamethrower so I could try to kill it before it laid its eggs in my stomach; or bled acid out of the Blu-ray slot.

H.R. Giger would be so proud.

Handmade by Australian gadget builder RareBeasts, the battery-operated projector uses a super-bright green LED and a delicate wooden screen through which the light is shines.

So if you think the aliens are among us (or you just want to be among them), you can pick one up over on Etsy for $35.

While they’ll probably look pretty good alongside your computer, I can’t imagine that the 1-watt per channel amplifiers will be able to keep up with much more than the most basic listening needs. Still, Sony claims that the speakers offer “accurate sound reproduction,” whatever that means. They also offer dual audio inputs, so you could connect your computer and a media player at the same time.

If looks are more important to you than volume, you might want to give these a listen. They’re available now from the Sony Style store for about 50 bucks.

The Fohenz Aqua FA-350 2.1-channel sound system features the requisite blue LED accent lights and comes in either white or black glossy finishes. The satellites and subwoofer look sort of like Apollo spaceship landing capsules to me (or giant Hershey’s Kisses when I’m feeling hungry.)

I’m baffled by the specs on these speakers, offering “RMS” wattage around 1.2 watts per channel (2.5 for the subwoofer), but “PMPO” wattage rating of a whopping 1200 watts. I’m gonna take a wild guess that the higher number is grossly exaggerated, and that they’ll sound about the same as any other cheap computer speakers. Still, they do look pretty cool.

They’re available from Korea’s dcx design shop for 21,000 KRW (just about 22 bucks), so at that price I wouldn’t expect much from these other than looks.

Looking like something out of an alien civilization, The Drop speakers are designed for those who like their speakers to make a bold visual statement. But these don’t just look good, each speaker is designed to handle up to 100 watts of power. Sensitivity is rated at 89dB, with frequency response is rated at -6dB at 50Hz and 22kHz. While they certainly don’t hit the very deepest frequencies, you can always pick up a subwoofer if you need that extra boom.

Measuring in around 20-inches high, their funky colored cabinets are custom molded from ABS (the same stuff is used to make Lego blocks and some tattoo inks.) Thanks to their hard plastic shells, they come color-infused in white, black, silver, blue, yellow or red. The Drop speakers retail for £549 (appx. $1095 USD) per pair.
