After much speculation and hype, Apple today announced their new ultra-slim laptop, the MacBook Air. Measuring just 0.16″ to 0.76″ thick (when closed), the 3-pound machine is touted as the “world’s thinnest laptop”.
The new MacBook Air features a striking aluminum case design, and is skinny enough to fit inside of a standard manilla envelope…

The guys over at Gizmodo dug up this brand new patent filing from Apple, showing off another true innovation from the design masters at the company.
The patent application describes a modified Apple Cinema Display with a docking slot in the side for a portable computer (presumably a new, slimmed down MacBook)…

The first Playstation emulator for the iPhone, psx4iphone has been officially released to the public. Previously available only as a private beta, version 0.1.0 of the emulator is now available for download.
The emulator runs quite a few classic Sony PS1 games, and will run on either the iPhone or iPod Touch (assuming yours has been jailbroken)…

This just in: Steve Jobs has confirmed that Apple is working on an SDK for the development of native applications on the iPhone and iPod Touch.
Straight from the horse’s mouth: “We want native third party applications on the iPhone, and we plan to have an SDK in developers’ hands in February…

Remember that 24-karat gold plated MacBook Pro I told you about the other day? Well the case mod gods over at Computer Choppers were kind enough to send me over photos of the finished product, and it looks even more fantastic than I had envisioned.
Other than the diamond-encrusted Apple logo and the LCD screen, every surface of this shiny spectacle is covered in gold…

Got a bunch of old Macintosh II computers lying around? Why not do what these folks did and turn them into a couch?
Apparently a computer shop had about twenty old Mac IIs and IIfx computers lying around gathering cobwebs and decided to build a sofa out of the technological dinosaurs…

While many of the BlackBerry models out there are arguably more capable than Apple’s iPhone (i.e. GPS integration, not locked to AT&T, etc.), most would agree that the iPhone user interface is a bit more slick. The bPhone theme for BlackBerry lets you have your cake and eat it too…

The talented case modders from Computer Choppers are currently working on a project to create a golden Apple MacBook Pro laptop. I’m not talking about a little spray paint here. This mod includes a full 24-karat gold plating of the case.
They’ve even gone so far to color-match the keyboard, then re-engrave the letters for a seamless, professional design…
