Got $200 bucks to spend on a really cool keyboard? You could pick up one of those Luxeed rainbow LED keyboards, but that’s would be so 2008 of you. If you really want to be the cool kid on the block, you need one of these new Logitech G19 keyboards, which features a built-in color LCD screen and LED backlighting.

The G19 has a little LCD display at the top of the keyboard which can display anything from on-screen widgets to videos to game stats for games that take advantage of the screen. The tiny screen offers a crisp 320 x 240 resolution, and can be tilted to the angle of your preference.

Built from the ground up for serious gamers, the Logitech G19, has a dozen programmable gaming keys each of which can store three easily selectable macros, and there’s a real-time recording key you can hit when you want to make new macros. There’s also the ability to lock out the Windows and context menu keys during gameplay so you never make that mistake again. There’s even a multi-key input feature that lets you press up to five keys simultaneously for pulling off really complex combos.

I also dig the fact that you can customize the LED backlighting to a color of your choice (although not on a key-by-key basis like the Luxeed I’ve currently got on my desk).

The G19 will retail for $199.99 (USD), and is available for pre-order now over at Amazon. It’s expected to start shipping later this Spring. I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these bad boys.

Do you have teeny tiny fingers? Do you like to type? How ’bout in the dark? Well have I got a deal for you. This pint-sized keyboard is perfect for small hands, typing with the lights off.

Did I happen to mention this mini illuminated keyboard is wireless too? Just plug the included dongle into a spare USB port, plunk a pair of AAA batteries into the keyboard, and click-clack to your hearts content. And in case you can’t tell how small this keyboard really is, check out the size comparison photo below:

While I probably wouldn’t find this keyboard useful for my workspace, it’s actually a great idea for those of you with home theater or media center PC setups. No more fumbling in the dark, and no giant keyboard sitting on the coffee table anymore.

Of course, if you’ve got adult-size fingertips, you might end up typing WEWEWE.,TYERCVNMASBNOPBN.,CVOPM> when you really want to visit my site. If you don’t mind the occasional typo, can get your (tiny) hands on one over at Brando for $47 (USD).

Do you remember the oh-so-low-low-tech game Snake? Now it can be played on a monome with an accelerometer. You don’t even need a controller, since the tilting motion is all you need to control the snake’s movements.

Check out the video here, which demonstrates how intuitive the game becomes when all you have to do is tilt the board to make the snake slither and slide around the pixelated board.

Click to View Embedded Video Clip

In case you’ve never heard of a monome, it’s a device that has a grid of backlit buttons that can be used for a variety of things, including games. They don’t make a whole lot of them, but you can check availability and try to convince them to make more at the monome website.

Even with the fancy device, though, this game doesn’t seem all that action-packed. And yet, on the faster levels, I’ve been known to blow through large chunks of time playing Snake on my cell phone without being able to stop…

The LEXON Jet series of clocks feature a bold electroluminescent backlit dot matrix display that’s really really easy to read.

In addition to telling time, day and date, the Jet wall clock also features a temperature display and an alarm. If you really dig his style, Williams has also designed a Jet clock radio and a smaller travel alarm clock too. All three models will come in either brushed anodized aluminum or shiny gold finishes.

The first model to be released — the Jet wall clock — is available now from French design boutique Singulier for €45 (appx. $69 USD). Pricing and a release date haven’t been announced for the travel clock and clock radio yet.

Here’s a new digital watch I thought really stood out from the crowd. Nixon’s Answer watch comes in a couple of colors, but the bright blue and white one pictured here really caught my eye.

To complement its swimming pool blue case (they call it Sky Blue, but I know better), the Answer features a aquatic blue-backlit LCD screen. And it’s not just the color that makes me want to dive in. The watch is waterproof to 100-meters, so you really can take it into the deep end.

If for some reason, blue isn’t your thing, the watch is also available in a yellow and grey combo which conjures up images of deep sea diving gear, and a simple black design too. All three styles are available from Nixon for $75 each.
