Cheapest Blu-ray Player Drops Below $100

Been waiting for the price to drop before taking the plunge and upgrading from DVD to a Blu-Ray player? This is easily the cheapest Blu-Ray deal I’ve ever seen.

According to the guys over at FormatWarCentral, the Magnavox NB530MGX Blu-Ray player has been spotted at at least one Wal-Mart store with a price Rollback to just $98 (USD). Despite the crazy low price, this model supports full 1080p resolution video, over an HDMI 1.3 connection, and true 24fps playback to boot.

It’s not currently available on the Wal-Mart website, but with a price like that, it’s worth heading out to your local big box shop to see if they’ve also cut the price. I’m hopeful that these kinds of price cuts are just a taste of what’s to come for the 2009 holiday shopping season.

And One More Thing: Apple Upgrades White Macbook Specs

iSneaky: The White 13-inch MacBook has been upgraded, but for some unfathomable reason Apple’s not flaunting it. It absolutely definitely surely can’t be because of the newer, more expensive Aluminum MacBooks.

The most obvious upgrade is the GPU, which is now an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M (256MB), quite a substantial leap from the Intel GMA X3100 (144MB). The standard RAM’s also been upped to 2GB from 1GB, although it’s still DDR2 and not DDR3 like the ones that the Aluminum MacBooks have. If you check out the MacBook’s Wikipedia page, you’ll also see that the Core 2 Duo chip has been updated with a 1066MHz FSB from 800MHz. Bluetooth is now 2.1, and the bundled OS X is now 10.5.6. And it’s still $999 (USD). So if you’ve been holding off on purchasing the $1,299 Aluminum MacBook because of the glossy screen, you now have a matte and cheaper alternative.

Cheap Foldable Noise Canceling Headphones [Such a Deal]

A few months ago my friend’s globetrotting father bought a pair Bose noise canceling headphones. The reason: he felt compelled to buy one after sharing one too many plane rides with Bose-wearing businessmen. Too bad he didn’t wait for these headphones from Ableplanet, because right now they are dirt-cheap.

How cheap? Vernons over at devicepedia says that they sell for $99. Compared to its $349 Bose counterpart then that’s already a Good Deal right? Well I have a Better Deal.
