The Horizontal Shower looks pretty cool, even though it takes up a lot of space and would steam your bathroom up instantly. While the way that Dornbracht has presented is fraught with problems for the average consumer, I can see that the concept could be improved upon if it were optimized.

I don’t know if this would work well to get you going in the morning, but it’s probably fabulous right before going to bed or after a workout. The hard slab of concrete must also get uncomfortable, but you get the idea of how relaxing it could be – especially if they added some sort of soft liner to the part where you lie down.

There’s no word on price, but chances are it’s quite expensive. If you can afford one, it would certainly make an interesting addition to your mansion.

Gregory’s bathroom is loaded with retro video game touches, with artwork from Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong and Pac-Man adorning the walls and fixtures. I especially love the Mario brick and question mark block lighting fixture above that intricately-detailed retro gaming mirror. Even the toilet seat cover has gotten the retro gaming treatment. I wonder if the Pac-Man trash can is filled with power pills, or just wadded up Kleenex. I also want to know where he got that Mario hand towel from. Hitler robbed so many people of their grandparents, parents, siblings, and children. I don’t believe in that saying that went something like getting a tooth for a tooth (and like I said, he’s dead already), but I do believe that it’s okay to do whatever it takes to move on and get through a situation by coping.

And if coping means wiping your butt on Hitler’s face every day, then why not? His crimes might have been committed decades ago, but some people are still experiencing the effects of his atrocities, even until today. The Hitler Toilet Paper provides some comic relief, at least, especially during moments of despair and sadness (in the bathroom, at least.)

This isn’t happening yet and probably won’t, unless the Fluid Wall makes the transition from just a concept to a reality.

The Fluid Wall is basically a wall that lets you mount bathroom fittings and fixtures on various mounting points. It aims to take your entire bathroom and hang everything on one wall to save you a whole lot of space or give you an extra room in your home.

The Fluid Wall was designed by Jay M. Stevens, who said: “Each panel has identical hidden mounting points for easy installation on an integrated mounting system. Panels may be arranged in any configuration. The room may include as few or as many panels as desired.”

I think it’s a pretty neat concept but something that should only be reserved for flats and apartments that are really, and I mean really, cramped for space.

But apparently, eating while looking like you’re sitting on the john is the concept that the Modern Toilet Restaurant in Taipei, Taiwan is working with.

The entire restaurant is decked out in full with themes straight from the lavatory, from the toilet seats that you’re supposed to sit on to the food that’s served on ceramic toilet-seat shaped bowls and toilet cover plates. Drinks are even served from those portable urinal bottles. Delicious.

Apparently, the restaurant has been so popular, that they’ve opened a number of branches all over China.

The food in the place sounds pretty decent and given my history with wanting to eat on the toilet, I’m actually interested in visiting this place one day. I wonder if their bathrooms look like a dining room.

This novelty toilet paper by Crumpler, however, is something different. And grossly so.

The Paint by Numbers toilet paper isn’t available commercially, since they’re being produced as part of an ad campaign for the brand.

You might notice that numbers 1 to 5 in the color key all point to brown. So we all probably know what that’s supposed to be. But I just wonder why they didn’t put in a number for yellow. Or green. For when… you know.

Anyway, Crumpler has plans to distribute a 100,000 of these in random bathrooms all over the USA, Australia, Asia, Canada, and New Zealand to help promote their brand. Though I’m not sure they really want to associate their line of bags, backpacks and wallets with wiping your bottom.

While you probably don’t have a need for a Rubik’s Cube in your house these days, you definitely need to take a bath from time to time to keep from stinking. So why not make it fun, and grab this Rubik’s Cube soap block, from DigitalSoaps?

This thing is a dead-ringer for the original puzzle, with all the perfect grooves and 54 colorful stickers hand-applied to the underlying form. Only the bottom is a little different (it’s completely flat), presumably because that’s how the soap molding process works. Still, it’s got yellow stickers on it, but you probably don’t want to show off that side.

Just like the original Rubik’s Cube, you’ll need to peel off the stickers to solve this puzzle – unless you want a bunch of stickers stuck to your bottom when you get out of the tub. Unlike the original Cube, this one smells like grape soda. This was only the case with the original if your little brother got out those Mr. Sketch scented grape markers and drew all over yours.

Presumably inspired by the famous Manneken Pis statue, these silly things plug into your headphone jack, and pee all over your fancy new gadgets. They’re the perfect complement to those urine-powered batteries I know you’re running all your devices with.

They’re available from Strapya (JP) for just ¥399 (~$5 USD) each, but I don’t see them on their international website yet. What a tragedy.

I doubt we’ll ever reach that stage, but the point is, time is valuable. Time is money. And time is something we all probably don’t have enough of.

So for the guys, there’s the e-Urinal. This thing will speed you up by checking your urinary health as you pee. The touchscreen fires up as you go, and you can just browse through the different menu and options by tapping (preferably after washing your hands.) So maybe it might also be a good idea to stick a mini sink in there somewhere.

The e-Urinal concept would measure the PH, SG, URO, BLO, WBC, PRO, GLI, BIL, & KET in your pee. That’s a whole lot of stuff, but basically, those are measures of your sugar levels, PH, and red/white blood cell count, among others. It could also store your history so you could check up on your trends over time (assuming you can remember which urinal you used.)

The e-Urinal was designed by Royce Zhang. It seems pretty cool, though it would be much cooler if he also came up with a female version. Hmmm.

Just hang your wet towel on the rack and either let it dry naturally or flick it on to have it dry off your towel and even sterilize it. And to dry your hair, just remove the hair dryer from the unattached end and switch on. Quick and easy.

These video game urinals were created by Captive Media, which is a good name. As long as you are slinging wiz, you’re not going anywhere, therefore you’re captive to their entertainment. The games have names like you would expect: Clever Dick, On The Piste and so on, and they are entire controlled by peeing.

Actually, PCB Creations calls this toilet they made from recycled circuit boards “The Royal Data Throne,” but I prefer my moniker. I was actually going to say something about how you could flush your bad memory down the toilet, but I figure I’ll leave the captions to you guys. I’m sure you’ll come up with something more clever than me.

Thankfully, at just 12-inches tall, and 5-inches wide, this circuit board toilet is way too small to sit on, so unless you’ve got a really small (and well-padded) ass, don’t get any funny ideas about actually taking a dump in it.

If you’ve got $500 (USD) to waste, go hit a casino and bet it all on number 2 on the roulette wheel. Then bet your winnings all on the same number again. If you still have $500 left afterwards, you can grab this oddity over on Etsy now.

So what did some clever people come up with? CLOO. No, it’s not some portable toilet or anything of that sort. Rather, it’s an app for your smartphone that will sort of work like a geo-targeted social network for toilets. It connects people who: 1) have a vacant toilet and 2) need to go urgently.

That means CLOO is working on the concept that some people will allow total strangers to pee or take a dump in their bathroom for a couple of dollars.

We’ve been going potty for decades on that thing and it’s been working fine so far, so why the call for a re-design? That’s because while we all have the luxury of flushing away our undesirable waste, millions billions of people in various parts of the world aren’t so fortunate.

People in developing nations across the globe don’t have access to a continuous supply of water, and therefore, don’t really have anything to flush their toilets with.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation have decided to put in a generous $42 million in new program investments and strategies. But more than that, some of the funds will be channeled into efforts to develop sanitation technology and hopefully come up with a re-design for the toilet.

Yep, despite all their recent hardships, Japan is still chock-full of weird and wacky ideas. The SEGA ToyLets game rewards players with points not based on accuracy, but the volume and intensity of urine they spray into the game controller (aka the urinal). Infrared sensors monitor when a contestant approaches, activating the game screen. Once you start doing your business, microwave sensors measure the speed and duration of the flow.

As you can see from the video clip above, you’ll even be able to compete head-to-head (literally) with other contestants for the best stream. SEGA hopes that bars and restaurants will buy these and install them in their restrooms, since the game screen can also be used to sell advertisements. With a cost of about ¥170,000 (~$1729 USD) for the system, and another ¥10,000 (~$123) for the game, you might even consider installing one of these in your own bathroom if you’ve got a couple thousand bucks to spare on a conversation piece.

We can only hope that this won’t be turned into a Kinect game.

If you have a bunch of old games that you really don’t like or just don’t work and you need to make something geeky, this is it. This urinal is made of old SNES cartridges and some other supplies. The finished product is a urinal that you can pee on.

The thing I see about this is that if you make a mistake sealing up all those gaps, you will end up with pee everywhere. It also looks like this urinal is very likely to overflow. A urinal overflowing on your shoes is one of the few things guys fear in the public restroom. You can make your own game urinal for about $250 and with eight hours of your time.
