This custom x-wing fighter/batjet was created by LEGO mastermind Kevin Ryhal (aka M<0><0>DSWIM). Now I can only imagine what the Joker’s TIE Fighter might look like. As you might imagine, Batman’s story has changed just a little bit. “After Bruce Skywalker’s aunt and uncle are killed by the evil Darth Joker, he learns the ways of the Force and becomes the Bat Knight, vowing to fight crime across the galaxy and defeat the evil Empire!”

That is a pretty sweet LEGO ride. I think the Astromech should have been done up in Robin’s colors though. Great custom ship!

The students created their grappling hook gun for an Air Force competition. The device the team created uses a launcher to shoot a grappling hook as far as 90 feet in the air. Once deployed, the system uses pulleys, and other tech to automatically pull the user up the building or other surface with little effort.

The contest the team will be participating in gives them 20 minutes to demonstrate the tool and then train military representatives on its use. The goal of the competition is to get three people up a 90-foot vertical incline while carrying 300 pounds of gear each. The device designed by the BYU students is able to climb 30 feet per minute. Check out the video above to see the system in action.

The LEGO-fied version has all of the scenes from the original trailer, built with custom minifigs, bricks (and a few VFX tricks.)

The Dark Knight Rises was directed Christopher Nolan, co-written with his brother Jonathan Nolan, with a story by David S. Goyer. It will be a blast if the trailer is any indication. The Dark Knight Rises will be arriving on July of 2012. Will Bane break the bat? We will soon find out.

Apparently his car did not have plates on it. He allegedly had the plates in the car, but couldn’t make them fit in the Lamboghini’s plateholder. I wouldn’t have busted the Batman. This guy is awesome, spreading cheer to kids who need it badly. I wish we had more humans like this guy.

The CLIMB series of posters features silhouettes of Batman, Wolverine and Spider-Man making their way towards the top of a building, all the while their nemeses, Catwoman, Sabretooth and Doctor Octopus do the same. I’m assuming the bad guys are higher up on the building, and the superheroes are giving chase, but they could have just stopped by the same building at different times, I suppose. I love them all, but Doc Ock is my absolute favorite. I just love how he manages to float his body up the side of the building with those huge tentacles.

Each of these six 12″x 16″ prints would look great in any geeky pad, and sell for $19 (USD) each over at Harshness’ Etsy shop. Can you think of some other action characters who climb up the side of a building this way?

They were made by Katya Malakhova, who really does live in St. Petersburg, Russia – so she has every right to call them Russian stacking dolls. While they’re a one-off she made for herself, I can only hope she’ll see how popular they are and set up shop on Etsy or somewhere.

What I love most about these (besides the pointy bat ears on the cowl) is that they remind me of another Christopher Nolan flick, Inception. But instead of a dream within a dream within a dream, you get a bat inside a bat inside a bat… the hero Gotham deserves… we need to go deeper.

This armor looks completely amazing and aside from maybe a few Elseworlds tales, I don’t think we’ve ever seen Batman decked out in a Knight’s armor. This all-leather suit of armor was made by Deviantart user Azmal. It was molded to look like the suit of armor Batman would wear in a medieval-inspired alternate fantasy universe. And how awesome is that Bat-sword?

The Batman/Superman print is definitely my favorite. It wouldn’t make much sense for either of them to go to work like this. The Hulk and Captain America mix-up might actually be an improvement over their normal costumes.

However, Catwoman wearing Wonder Woman’s costume is just plain strange.

These images are by Czech artist Goran Patlejch, who’s also known as his handle Goenetix. There’s a fun, minimal style to these prints, and I like how the image looks like it was quickly printed on a stray piece of folded-up paper. All of these images are available through Goenetix’s Etsy store as 12″ x 17″ prints for $22(USD) each.

My personal favorite is the one with characters from the Batman comic book universe, but Spider-Man fans will be happy to Marissa’s got you and your web-slinging hero covered. Though there’s not quite enough room for all of Doc Ock’s tentacles.

Or if you fancy the original X-Men, you can get Iceman, Miss Marvel/Jean Grey, Cyclops, Angel and Beast to hang up too. You’ve gotta love Professor Xavier filling everyone’s minds from the center.

Of course if you’ve got a little girl – or just appreciate the kitsch factor, skip the superheroes, and head straight for the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic print. It’s awesome in its own special way. The only thing better would be for this to be made out of actual stained glass. Or for real ponies to look like this.

You can also purchase a 10″ x 10″ of the round window part only, with the individual characters from the narrow sections below selling for $4 each. This road-worthy Batmobile replica was built with a 3.5 Liter GM350 Crate engine and comes complete with a rocket exhaust flamethrower. It makes you wonder how that passed the DMV inspection. It also has roll-top dashboard doors, a flashing red beacon, a Bat Phone, an automatic Batbeam antenna grid and a glowing Detect-a-Scope radar screen, whatever those are.

The Batmobile’s 280hp engine will take you from 0-to-60 in 5 seconds, and to a top speed of 90mph (better hope the criminals can’t outrun you.) Oh yeah, and it gets 9 miles per gallon, so you’ll be heading to the Bat Gas Station frequently. You can get yours directly from Firebox for the low price of £120,000 (~$188,000 USD). Enough said!

The gameplay footage, put together by YouTube user Drake3691 gives you a brief look at the new DLC that takes place in the Batcave. Alfred approves. You’ll find the batmobile, the batwing and even a working dinosaur.

This Tumbler was created by LEGO builder ClickBrickDesigns, and looks just like the one from the movies. It measutes about 6.5″(L) x 5.5″(W) x 2.5″(H),  and is built from over 170 LEGO bricks, along with some special, hard-to-find components.

It’s really accurate, including a detailed dashboard with joysticks, movable airfoils, and room for two Minifigs inside (you’ll have to provide those – Batman isn’t included). It even has the proper tires. ClickBrick has also gone ahead and glued together some of the key locations with E-6000 adhesive (which apparently doesn’t hurt the bricks.)

If you consider yourself a major Batfan, head on over to Etsy now and pony up your $55(USD) to secure this for your collection.

I’ve always wished that LEGO would keep selling their official Batmobile Tumbler kit, but the only kit they ever sold is now a rarity, going for hundreds of dollars on eBay and Amazon these days. Besides, I think this all-black handmade version looks cooler anyhow.

We do know that it features the familiar bat-logo on the back, along with Dark Knight packaging and there is a movie tie-in Live Tile visible on the screen in the video. They are certain to be super expensive if you ever do have a chance to buy one, and they don’t just end up being some sort of prize in a movie promotion.

These boxers are all based on DC Comics characters. You can get Batman, Green Lantern and The Flash themed undies, as well as The Joker – but he’s not a superhero, so what is he doing in your underwear? They won’t give you super-powers, they will just make you feel like they do. Unless, that is, you consider light or temperature-sensitive prints that only show up under your own body heat, or designs that reveal themselves after time to be super-powers.

The Flash version is probably the coolest, since you don’t want those tacky Joker colors on your junk and also probably don’t want a Batsignal tramp stamp behind you. You can check them all out here.
