Now that it’s 84 degrees and 99% humidity outside here in Chicago, it’s perfect timing for this bit of Pac-Man merch to hit stores, right? Well, maybe the guys who make this Pac-Man fleece blanket are a little off with their calendars, but if you happen to live in the Southern Hemisphere, you could be needing a warm-up soon, right?

This Pac-Man raschel fleece blanket from Backstage Pass measures about 50″ x 60″ and is made from polyester – which also happens to be what Pac-Man himself is made of. Trust me, I read it somewhere, I’m sure. Or maybe that was the ghosts who were made from the stuff. Or maybe I’ve just been eating too many power pills.

Grab the Pac-Man fleece blanket over at Amazon for $24.99 (USD).

Apparently in the United States, the relationship of many married couples is being threatened by fart, so much so that a “science teacher” created a fart-absorbing blanket and named it “The Better Marriage Blanket.” And here I was thinking that snoring (or having 8 kids and going on a reality show) was the main reason why marriages dissolve, not flatulence.

It may look like an ordinary comforter (heck, there’s a chance that it is an ordinary comforter), but apparently the Better Marriage Blanket has a lining of carbon fabric that traps fart molecules, thereby saving your marriage. Then, when you get divorced anyway, you can wrap your spouse in the fart-loaded blanket and watch as he instantly suffocate/melts/sublimates. Just kidding.

Click to View Embedded Video Clip

You can order the blanket here for $40 (USD). Even if you’re not going to order, I suggest you check out the website anyway; it’s good for a couple of laughs. Here’s a testimony on the website: “It must be working because I haven’t woken myself up since I started using it! -Elena, AZ.” Elena, if your farts are so nasty that they wake you up, a comforter won’t be enough to solve your problems.

So let’s say you have twenty or so awesome moments in your Halo 3 career preserved in screenshots. Yeah, the time you stuck that guy right in the face? Remember when you snatched up that flag right in the middle of heavy fire from the red team? Moments to remember forever… and if you’re this guy, you can sleep under ‘em, too.

This lucky gamer’s wife took twenty of his Halo 3 screenshots and immortalized them in a handmade quilt. The only possible way to improve on this idea is to make a Halo Snuggie. Get on that, crafty types.

SlickWillyQ’s special gift includes a lot of other little touches, like medals and his gamertag, just in case someone else tries to claim these are their quilted exploits. Good looking out, Wife-of-Willy. And good gifting, too.

After the Shredder hoodie, it’s time for some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles snuggies! You know you want them!

You know when you’re just all wrapped up in a blanket, snug as a bug in a rug? Well, snuggies are kind of like that, just better. They are basically a blanket that you can wear at home.

I just hope that you don’t have any plans on wearing them outside of home, as it’s impossible to look cool in them. Still, they must be pretty darn warm. They are available in a full on body print of your favorite turtle, from Donatello, Michelangelo, to Raphael.

For some reason, I kind of think that snuggies might be extremely comfortable when it gets cold. These warm blankets are available from Hot Topic for $28 each.

Seriously, Pyramid Head is just about the scariest character in all of video gaming. Is the blanket awesome? Oh yes, certainly, and it took an impressive three weeks worth of heavy crocheting to complete. A Pyramid Head sweater? I could get behind that. A wall hanging? Sure. But Pyramid Head on my bed is terrifying, even without that rhyme.

But crafter lateralthirdeye also has a snuggly Cthulhu on the bed, too, so apparently the bedroom is just where the scary things live for some folks.

Craftster FicklePegasus has turned an office joke into a handmade gift fit for only the coolest of babies: a soft and cuddly Cthulhu, complete with tentacular arms of love that can hold toys to engage tykes. The intended baby hasn’t even arrived yet and already he has cooler stuff than I do.

FicklePegasus looked at existing Cthulhu crafts and drew inspiration from several patterns for the final product. Here’s guessing it’ll be the most unique gift that kid receives over the next ten years. It’s all downhill from here, kiddo.

It took North Carolina crafter Tracy Thomasson (aka ‘thomcatdesigns’) 71 days to crochet this beauty, featuring the likenesses of Mario, Koopa and a Goomba as they go about their everyday lives in the Mushroom Kingdom. It’s really hard to believe that the blanket started with this simple patterned background:

Crocheted by Flickr member SheriB626, the handmade throw is plenty big enough to cover up even the most die-hard couch potato. Sheri describes the intricately crafted blanket as “My most epic project to date. Made for someone I loved very much, who then broke my heart. The only thing I asked him to give back was this. Damn straight.”

It’s a sad tale of love, loss, heartbreak and video games… and of course Sheri gets extra points for using my favorite word, “Epic”. Sheri, I’m sure there’s a dedicated Tetris fan somewhere out there who will truly appreciate your efforts and never leave you for Columns or Lumines.
