Designer Richard Lawson has created the oh-so-simple LED lights that clip on the top of an ordinary 9-volt battery.
Originally designed for a Mathmos-sponsored design competition, they’re now available for you to purchase for the first tim. Each little light starts out white, but glows in either blue or white when you turn it on…

For some reason, this mini desk refrigerator makes me think of the spaceship from Mork and Mindy. [I'm (carbon) dating myself, I know.] Actually, it’s supposed to be a giant egg. Come to think of it, so was Mork’s ship.
