Boba Fett Crochet Hat: Because Bounty Hunters Need to Keep Warm Too

I’ve seen a ton of cool knit and crocheted Star Wars items over the years, even a Yoda hat, but this one has to be one of the best since it essentially puts Boba Fett’s entire helmet on your head.

It’s priced a little steep at $49.99(USD), but hey, you are paying for the geek factor, and it certainly takes a lot of work to make one. Actually, now that I think about it, that price is actually a steal. For that price, you can start your bounty hunter career and go after the likes of Han Solo. Before you know it, you’ll be wearing a jet pack, working for Jabba the Hutt and visiting beautiful places like Bespin, all expenses paid. Just make sure you don’t end up in a Sarlacc pit.

Boba Fett Was a Viking, aka Boba the Barbarian

It’s a little-known fact, but apparently Boba Fett fought his earliest battles in the old Norse seas. At least that’s what I’ve gleaned from my phony-made-up-history lesson learned from staring at this Boba Fett helmet:

Paul McCue (aka “Kyoob“) – the guy who made this crazy-looking headgear – is calling it “steampunk” but other than the rivets and the weathered metal look, there’s really nothing steampunk about it. But those horns are definitely Viking. I know, because I saw it once in a Hagar the Horrible cartoon – and then later at an NFL game.

Regardless, it’s pretty awesome. I only wish he had made a backpack with jets to go with it.

Imperial Forces Wallpaper: Your Walls Have Joined The Dark Side

Yep, now even the walls are evil. The Imperial Forces wallpaper features portraits of your favorite Star Wars villains: Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Stormtroopers, Snowtroopers and Imperial Guards. Thankfully, the Star Wars element isn’t too in-your-face. You have to look at it pretty closely to see the intricate designs.

The wallpaper was created by Brian Flynn of Super7 for his retail store in San Francisco, then later licensed through Lucasfilm after Star Wars collector Steve Sansweet came across it.

Star Wars Costume Hoodies: The Dark Side of the Fleece

Ok, they’re not made out of fleece, but the headline sounded way better that way. “The Dark Side of the 60% Cotton / 40% Polyester” didn’t roll off the tongue the same way. Regardless, these Dark Side hoodies are still pretty awesome – assuming you get your thrills from Star Wars, and don’t mind people staring at you.

ThinkGeek is now stocking hoodies in three Dark Side variants: Boba Fett, Stormtrooper and Darth Vader. I have to say that until you flip the hood up on the Boba Fett one, it could actually pass as something pretty fashionable. Of course, once you pop the facemask over your head and you check out the jet pack on back, all bets are off.

On the other hand, if you walk into a bank wearing either the Stormtrooper or Darth Vader hoodies with the facemask zipped up, you’ll get yourself arrested or sprayed with pepper spray quickly – especially if you come wielding a blaster rifle or a red lightsaber.

Boba Fett Stained Glass Lamp Hunts Down Gran Solo and Freezes her in Carbonite

When I think of Tiffany and other stained-glass lamps, I usually have an image of a little old lady’s house, accented with lace curtains, doilies, and a collection of Hummel figurines. What I do not usually think of is Mandalorian bounty hunters and EE-3 carbine rifles. Until today.

This awesome Boba Fett lamp is the best thing to happen to stained glass since the National Cathedral. Sure, Fett’s helmet looks a little pink when the lights are on, but I certainly wouldn’t kick this thing out of my grandma’s living room.

The Fett lamp was made by MclanesMemories, and no, you cannot have it.

Star Wars Cakes for Two (or Fifteen)

The guys over at Charm City Cakes have introduced a new line of cakes including a couple that are perfect for readers of Technabob. Now what cake isn’t perfect for me and my epic sweet-tooth? Maybe one with whipped cream frosting – I don’t much care for those. But pretty much any other cake – especially one that looks like Boba Fett – is the best thing I can imagine. Especially, right now – I need dessert.

These smaller-than-normal Charm City Cakes are called “Cakes for Two”, but actually feed fifteen people (or two really hungry Technabob readers) and come in a variety of fun designs. But the ones I care about are based on iconic Star Wars characters like Fett and this Stormtrooper.

From the looks of the photos, it actually looks like their helmets have been put through some sort of head-slicing machine that didn’t quite get the decapitation right. Mmmmm. Tasty, tasty decapitation. Each cake is 8-inches across and has three layers of goodness inside. The worst part about these cakes? The price. They sell for $250 a piece – which works out to appx. $16.67 a slice for you mathematicians – or about $125 a slice for me.

Boba Fett Helmet Pipe: The Empire Strikes Back, Then Has the Munchies

Ok, this could to be the strangest Star Wars item I’ve ever come across. It’s a glass pipe in the shape of Boba Fett’s helmet.

I guess when Boba Fett needs a break from a hard day’s bounty hunting, he straps this thing on, and mellows out. Yep, apparently the mouthpiece is inside of the glass helmet, so you smoke it while you wear it.

Do you think Darth Vader would have hired Fett to find the Millennium Falcon if he knew he was a stoner? Guess the Empire might want to think about starting to administer random drug tests.

Steampunk Boba Fett Cosplay: So This is Where He Spends His Bounties

When I first saw this picture, I actually thought it was a painting. As Justin Page said, the photography and the lighting augmented the brass and browns of Ashby’s costume. A few more below:

Except for the lightsabers, Ashby provided all the props and armor, while Lindsay Hamilton and Christa Wood did the sewing. We can thank Matt Nicholson aka Dim Horizon Studio for the photography (except for the lightsaber picture, which was taken by Eurobeat King). Boba Fett Spartan Helmet: This is BOBAAA!!!

King Leonidas and his army of 300 don’t have a lot in common with Boba Fett. The Spartans were patriotic soldiers (HAA-OOH!). Boba was a bounty hunter. The Spartans refused to bow down to a (fictionalized) man who fancied himself a god and paraded around with more jewels than clothes. The Mandalorian had no problems working for a slug-like crime lord who did walk around naked. The Spartans only had their helmet and shield to protect them. Boba was covered from head-to-toe, and had a freakin’ jetpack too. The Spartans were actual people, and Fett is a fictional clone. But none of that matters when you see this helmet:

According to Big Shiny Robot, this helmet was made by Jon Wollack of After Dark Productions. I’m pretty sure Wollack considered none of the crap that I mentioned above, and only thought of two things before getting to work – the helmets do look a bit similar, and they were both worn by bad ass warriors. Good enough reasons to create an awesome mashup.

Boba Font: the One Star Wars Font Print to Rule Them All

After those great Star Wars font posters, Fabian Gonzalez came up with his own version with one of the coolest characters in Star Wars, Boba Fett. The poster is complete with his blaster and jet pack, created entirely out of typography.

The above image is available in a variety of formats, from art prints in different sizes, 17×22″ to 28×38″, to iPhone and iPod cases, as well as laptop and iPad skins over at Society6. The only thing that’s missing at this point is t-shirts, though it looks like Fabian submitted this design to Threadless, so maybe we’ll see one soon.

Every bounty hunter needs a jet pack. Barring that, a backpack that looks like a jet pack, so you’ll at least have a place to put the heads, ears and whatever body parts you collect of your enemies. This backpack should fit the bill. It’s also cute.

Don’t place your bounty in your backpack though. That’s a rookie bounty hunter mistake. Put it in the bank, or invest in property or something.

This Boba Fett bust bank is perfect for keeping all of your change in check, and should defintely keep your money safe from Jedi or Rebel scum who might want to steal your money. Star Wars Toys Photos by Gareth Payne

As many of us from a certain generation, I love Star Wars. While I don’t own that many toys from the movies, I do like these the artistry in these Star Wars toys photos by Gareth Payne.

His most iconic shot is of a stormtrooper doing some moonwalking, which he calls Stormwalking. He’s got shots of all sorts of Star Wars toys, including Star Wars LEGO minifigurines.

Gareth has also taken 365 shots of a LEGO minifig Boba Fett, which he calls Year of the Fett. Much like Stefan Le Dû’s 365 stormtroopers, you can find Boba Fett in all sorts of strange situations throughout the year.

Boba Fett Helmet has a Cheap Bounty on Its Head

Entertainment Earth is showing off a new full-size Boba Fett helmet for pre-order. It features an articulated rangefinder and electronic sounds. I love how EE specifies that the helmet was “specially designed to look awesome for kids of all ages!”, because I’m willing to bet that the first ones to snag it won’t be “kids”, technically speaking. Hell I’d get three of this if I could. Assuming I can fit my non-kid-size head in there.

You can pre-order the Star Wars Clone Wars Boba Fett Helmet at Entertainment Earth for only $45 (USD). That’s a small price to pay for something so awesome. Shipping starts this August.

Star Wars junkies, here’s a great way to keep your pants from falling down the next time you start dancing your ass off to A Galactic Empire State of Mind.

Actually, you’ll first need to buy a belt to keep your pants up, but you could definitely put the proper finishing touch on your belt with one of these Star Wars metal belt buckles. While it’s unclear exactly how these things attach to a belt from these pictures, I can only say you’ll definitely stand out in the crowd with R2-D2, Boba Fett or a Stormtrooper sitting right above your fly.

Star Wars Flash Drives: Don’T Use the Force to Push ‘Em Into Your USB Slot

These aren’t the first Star Wars themed flash drives I’ve seen, but they do have the biggest heads I’ve seen on a Star Wars flash drive, so at least they’ve got that going for them.

The bobblehead-esque USB drives feature the likenesses of Darth Vader,Yoda, a Stormtrooper and Boba Fett, and each one stores 2GB of data, which isn’t a whole lot, but should be enough to handle those critical Death Star blueprints.

All four drives are available for pre-order over on Entertainment Earth for $24.99 (USD) each. While they’re not shipping until October, you might as well get started on your holiday shopping really, really early.
