Pacmania Bowl Needs to Be a Thing

Being an avid fan of the classic arcade game Pac-Man, it’s hard for me to resist much of anything with a solid Pac-theme to it. So combine Pac-Man with junk food, and I’m happier than a yellow puck in a roomful of blue ghosts and unlimited power pills.

The Pacmania bowl looks like the perfect thing for munching down on your favorite snacks and desserts – especially cherries, pretzels and the occasional key or Galaxian spaceship. It was designed on a whim by Christopher Locke, and is only a concept at this point. But that doesn’t make it any less awesome. Sure, the green and purple Pac-men aren’t exactly color-matched to the original, and I don’t remember Pac-Man having stubby little corgi legs, but that’s part of the fun, IMHO.

Chris needs to hook up with someone like Suck UK or Fred & Friends (who already produce cool licensed Pac-Man garb) and get his design produced. I’d fill my entire cupboard with a bunch, as I’m sure many a retro game geek would too.

Army Men Bowl Reminds Me of Younger Days

When I was a kid, me and a couple of my friends would sneak hairspray outside along with matches from my dad’s ash tray and spend some time having war with the little plastic army men complete with real flame throwers. I’m still not sure how I survived my youth. I would take those melted army men and bury them so my parents wouldn’t know that I was setting stuff on fire.

This cool bowl by Dominic Wilcox reminds me of those summer days setting stuff on fire in my backyard. The designer took a bunch of those plastic army men and melted them into the shape of a bowl. I use the term loosely since to qualify as a bowl in my opinion you have to be able to eat Lucky Charms out of it and this thing has holes all in it.

It looks to me like the dude who made the bowl just took the men, stuck them in a wok, and cooked them up a bit. The finished product would be a cool fruit bowl. The thing totally gives me a great idea of a holiday wreath made from all the toys my kids broke since last Christmas all melted together.

Gakken Mm Circuit Micro Race Car Drives Around the World to the Left

This diminutive race car from Japan does one thing really well – it drives around in a circle, over and over again.

While it’s not quite as exciting as watching hillbillies turning left a NASCAR race (sarcasm), at least you get a front-row seat to this tiny little race whenever you want.

Just load the Gakken MM Circuit race car into its special wheel-revving charger for 5 seconds, then drop it into the bowl-shaped racetrack and it spins round-and-round (like a record baby, right round, round, round) at a breakneck pace of 0.6 seconds per lap. It’s also adept at tooling around a deep serving dish or a goldfish bowl if you happen to have one lying around.

The teensy little car measures in at just 2.5cm long (less than an inch) and weighs less than 3 grams, so be careful not to lose it. And definitely don’t let the cat eat it.
