Here’s a nice way to wake from your slumber every morning. The Boynq WakeUp not only looks good, it’s got everything you need on your bedside table.

In addition to its digital alarm clock, The Wake Up offers an FM radio and an iPod dock. A substantial 20-watt amp powers the stereo system. The modern design features a removable wireless remote which can be stowed in the same place as your iPod when it’s not docked. In addition to track and volume control, the remote lets you snooze the alarm too.

The full-featured iPod dock can charge your media player while connected, and also offers a video out so you can play back your movies and shows on a nearby television.

The WakeUp comes in both black and white versions, and should hit stores before the holidays. While the North American price hasn’t been announced, it’s already selling for €130 (appx. $185) in Europe.

Speakers are often be the most boring, utilitarian looking devices on your desktop. On occasion, however, a set of speakers will come along that looks as good (or maybe even better) than they sound.

Case in point, these Boynq Blox speakers. They feature an innovative design that looks more like a sculpture than a pair of speakers. Each orange and silver speaker can slide up and down along a track that also happens to control bass and treble levels. Slide the left speaker up, and up go your low frequencies, slide the right one up, and treble goes up.

The whole thing is powered by dual 5-watt amplifiers, which should be enough for desktop audio needs. A 3.5mm stereo “mini” audio jack lets you hook up your computer or media player with ease. They’re also USB powered, so they don’t need an AC adapter.

I was able to find these speakers for just £17.99 (appx. $35 USD) from U.K. outlet MyMemory, but I haven’t been able to find them from a North American outlet so far.

Normally, I couldn’t think of a less interesting computer accessory than a memory card reader. Leave it to the design wizards at Boynq to change my mind on that.

Their $30 Toastit is a 27-in-1 memory card reader that bears a striking resemblance to a retro-modern toaster. While it won’t actually brown your Pop Tarts, the Toastit will read most memory cards, including Compact Flash I & I, MicroDrive, SD, MMC, Memory Stick and xD formats.

The plug-and-play flash memory reader is completely USB powered, and transfers via a high-speed USB 2.0 connection to both Macs and PCs. And no, I couldn’t find a ‘bagel’ setting anywhere on the thing.
