The thing is called the Desktop PC notebook bag and it’s not actually a bag to put a desktop computer in. It’s a small black brief case designed to hold your notebook. The bag actually turns into a desk with metal legs so you can work comfortably using your laptop.

It’s cool when set up, even if it looks like a bar stool with a bag for a seat.  and it even has an integrated cooling fan for hot notebooks. Other features include a mouse in the front pocket and more. It sells for ¥5,980 (appx. $74 USD) here (JP).

What self-respecting businessman would use this as an actual briefcase? Unless you’re in the business of selling geeky replicas, I don’t see how one can seriously lug this around and retain dignity at the same time. But as I said, it does make for a unique accessory for cosplaying. Imagine just wearing a swanky suit or tux to the next Comic Con, and when someone asks you who you’re supposed to be, show ‘em the suitcase. Stuff this jacket inside for added laughs.

Unfortunately, you’ll have to have the funds of Tony Stark to consider buying this replica just for the occasional convention; Entertainment Earth is selling ‘em for $460 (USD) each. It’s limited to just 1,000 units, but it’s still too expensive if you ask me.

The faderTouch 3.0 isn’t just your run-of-the-mill sequencer. Nope, the unique portable device features an innovative rear-projection system that allows not only VJ, but his audience to watch the on-screen action. By installing a bright projector inside a briefcase, and aiming it at an angular projection screen, the display can be viewed from either side.

In addition to the projector, the screen has an infrared touch panel overlay which allows him to interact with his custom performance interface which was programmed using Processing, and acts as a MIDI controller for Ableton Live. Here’s a couple of videos showing off the system in action:

Behold! The CaseStation 2, a classy black briefcase packed with Sony goodness.

This is actually the CaseStation 2 2,a s in the second one that’s been made in this style by Flickr user UncleWill’sFantabulousWonderland. The first he made for himself; this one was requested by a friend who was understandably envious of the first CaseStation and wanted in on the action.

With a seven inch screen and a wireless controller, you’re pretty much good to go with this set… and it’s probably not much heavier than a briefcase with, say, work inside.

Created by Rockza, the PacManiac series of briefcases is the perfect way to carry around a small notebook computer, papers and books, or as a lightweight carry-on for your next trip.

The bags are available in several styles, including one that’s covered with hundreds of colorful, pixelated denizens of Pac-World, and another with a slightly more subtle grey-on-black design. It looks like Rockza also makes a white version and a blue version, but they’re harder to find (and don’t look as good, IMHO). Each bag measures appx. 14″ x 10.25″ x 6″, which should hold a 14″ or smaller laptop.

Now the bad news. I can’t find anyone outside of Korea who’s selling these yet. If you’re willing to dive in and do a little translation, you might be able to get your hands on them over at HIPHOPER for 54,000 KRW (appx. $39 USD).

Each “Luxury” aluminum carry case provides a form-fitting padded storage for a single Wii-mote and Nunchuck controller. The only thing that would make this cooler is if it made that high-pitched “fweeeeeeeeeeee” sound that TV and movie briefcases make when they’re ready to detonate.

The Rockza Space Invaders bag is made from black PVC with a long shoulder strap. It features a rainbow of invader bitmap images (complete with “scanlines”) that are more reminiscent of later full-color versions than of the original arcade classic.

Available from Korea’s DCX Design Complex, the Space Invaders bag costs 42,000 Korean Won (about $45 USD.)

The ridiculous President Briefcase is just a gag product, but if you happen to leave it ANYWHERE, you’re likely to stir up a bigger scare than the Aqua Teen Hunger Force prank did in Boston earlier this year. The $65 metal box looks suspiciously like those evildoer devices you’d find in a Mission Impossible movie, complete with cryptic satellite maps, toggle switches, and an imposing red button with a skull on it.

If the fact that it looks like a bomb isn’t enough for you, it also features a hidden compartment. Presumably, this is where you’d stash your contraband, but for some reason this doesn’t seem like a very good hiding spot.

Designed by famous German model maker Faller, this case is filled with a tiny little slot car track, complete with 1/87th scale racers and two remotes for controlling your cars.
