The latest controller modding kit from XCM is perfect for java junkies.

The case replaces the outside of your Xbox 360 controller with a rich, delicious coffee-colored shell.

Like other XCM case replacements for the Xbox 360, the controller includes a matching D-pad, LED backlit ABXY buttons and color-coordinated shoulder and trigger buttons. Now XCM likes to say this is a coffee lover’s controller mod, but I actually think it’s exactly what it would look like if you dipped your controller in a creamy milk chocolate shell. Either way, it looks delicious to me.

You should be able to find the XCM Coffee Shell controller mod kit over at TotalConsole or ExtremeMods any day now for around $33 (USD)

This handmade leather case comes to us courtesy of London UK artist Tovicorrie of Beautiful Skin. Each one is imprinted with a retro image of Sony’s classic cassette player, layered onto either a soft brown or burgundy red cowhide, and in orange, blue, brown or hot pink Walkman colors. Note the tape that’s in the player is AC/DC’s “For Those About to Rock” – a nice touch – unless the thought of Angus Young strutting around the stage disgusts you.

In addition to iPhone cases, he’ll also make iPod Classic or iPod Touch versions if you specify that when you order. They’re available over on his Etsy shop for $28 (USD) each. Tovicorrie – we salute you!

Tired of the same old speaker designs? Here’s some compact speakers with a decidedly different look. These Microbon speakers are have a hexagonal case design which is certainly unusual.

Instead of a typical cheap plastic case, these speakers have cheap wooden cases. While I’m certainly not going to say that 5mm thick MDF is the sturdiest construction material, I’d bet these wooden speaker enclosures produce a more pleasing sound than most plastic ones. They have a built-in 4W per channel amplifier, and come with an A/C adapter for power. They’ll also run off of USB power or on a rechargeable battery when traveling.

The compact speakers come in a natural brown ($18.55 USD) or a black painted finish ($15.47 USD). I’m not sure why the unfinished (MP-660) model is more expensive than the painted (MP-600) model, although it looks like the speaker elements on the brown ones might be a little larger. Microbon is also showing these in a couple of additional finishes if you can manage to track them down for purchase anywhere.

I’ve always been enamored of Phillipe Starck’s contemporary watch designs. Now the prolific designer is readying yet another beautiful watch for Fossil’s S+ARCK line.

The new (as yet unnamed) digital features a unique segmented design, which splits the time display from the day and date into two separate windows. Each one is stacked onto a leather band with some spacing to create extra visual interest. The strap conceals a hidden closure mechanism behind the displays to create a seamless design. In addition to the dramatic stainless on black model, the watch will ship in a traditional brown leather, and a modern orange color ways as well.

Fossil expects to release these new watches for $125 each in the next couple of months. Be sure to keep an eye on the S+ARCK Collection shop for more details.
