Some people keep to themselves so much, that others describe them as living in their own “worlds” or “bubbles.” But you don’t have to be an introvert to actually live in a literal bubble in one of the two hotels that offer plastic rooms in France: the Attrap’Rêves and Sky River.

The bubble rooms were a concept by Pierre Stéphane, who wanted to come up with an eco-friendly space that didn’t cause any permanent changes to the environment once the bubble houses were folded up.

Each of the bubbles are small and cozy. The rooms are 13 feet in diameter, with some bubbles being completely transparent while the ones that are half-opaque offer more privacy.

These hotels are going right on my list of places to visit before I die (or get too old to enjoy stuff like this.)

You know how geeks protect their action figures with those clear protective cases? The Carcapsule is like that, but for cars. It’s a plastic bubble that you put your classic car in to protect it from the ravages of time. Heck, if you put some confetti in there and attached a vacuum, you would have yourself a huge snow globe.

Silly as it looks, it’s a great idea to protect your investment. Restoring old cars is super expensive and just the weather alone can destroy certain parts with rust. And this bubble keeps it visible for you to admire, so that beats a tarp. It even has a built-in fan that will keep filtered air circulating.

They start at $269(USD) and go up to $419, depending on the size.

It’s also how the Bubble Boy gets around town.

Leave it to the gadget makers at SegaToys to come up with another oddity that could only come from Japan. This wacky bathroom accessory is designed to blow bubbles while you sit in the tub and chill out.

The Happy Savon (savon = French for soap) looks like a little white whale, and fills sits on the edge of your bathtub blowing bubbles as you take a soak. Just fill the miniature cetacian with any liquid soap or shampoo and flip on the power. For smelly bubbles, just add a tiny bit of aromatherapy oil to the mix.

Despite the water mammal shape and the bathroom theme, the battery-operated whale isn’t submersible, so don’t try and float it in the water unless you want a dead whale in your tub. You’ll also want to be careful to aim the bubbles towards your tub, unless you want a slippery mess all over your bathroom tile floor – the last thing you need when you step out of the tub.

Regardless of the hazards, the Engrish marketing materials say it’s Relax Romantic Fantasy – so how could you go wrong? You can find the Happy Savon whale bubble blower over at the Japan Trend Shop for $63 (USD).
