France Getting Star Wars Burgers: Taste the Dark Side of the Bun

I can’t keep track of how many releases and re-releases the Star Wars movies have seen since 1977, but the latest takes the ~~cake~~ burger. Lucky folks in France will be getting a special treat along with the less than appetizing re-release of The Phantom Menace in 3D.

To celebrate, a French fast food chain named Quick is offering two versions of themed burgers. You can get the Darth Vader burger on a black bun, (I don’t even wanna know how they made it black) and the Jedi burger, which is your typical brown bun that matches Jedi robes. They’ll also be offering a Darth Maul inspired “Dark Burger”, but that really should have a red bun, shouldn’t it?

So if you find yourself in Paris, forget their fancy shmancy gourmet food. Eat like an American and get yourself the usual grub, just Star Wars themed. If anyone eats that Vader burger, let us know about any unusual symptoms you might experience. I’m not trusting the dying process. Could be worse though, the Yoda burger might be moldy as to mimic Dagobah.

Here I was thinking that was the only cheeseburger-shaped household appliance was the telephone from Juno. I guess I was wrong.

Hold the pickle, hold the lettuce, dirty desktops do upset us! Now you can keep your workspace neat and tidy with this mini cheeseburger vacuum, perfect for picking up dust, dirt and crumbs from all those Fruit Loops you’ve been munching out of the box. And that silver stuff left over from scratching those lottery tickets.

Just don’t try to take a bite out of the burger-vac when you’re hungry. I know you want to, but don’t. I already tried, and it’ll only break your teeth.

What Mario Eats for Dinner: the 1-Up Mushroom Burger

In case you’re looking to geek out your 4th of July BBQ, here’s an idea for you- make mushroom burgers that look like the 1-up mushrooms in Super Mario Bros. After all of the Mario-themed cakes and cupcakes and whatnot, it’s refreshing to see someone branch out into the savory realm.

Instructables user momo! created this masterpiece and describes the process right here. She dyed the bun with food coloring and made the spots out of mozzarella circles.

What I like about this most is that the burger is actually a mushroom burger so it doesn’t just look like a 1-up mushroom, it tastes like one too. Of course if you’re more of a traditionalist you could go with cow flesh and just top it with some mushrooms. Regardless, I think a plate of spotty green buns would be a definite head-turner at any event. Especially if you happen to wear overalls, a cap, and an oversized mustache.
