Transformers Bumblebee Xbox 360 Slim Casemod is More than Meets the Eye

If you are a fan of casemods, the Transformers, and the Xbox 360, you had better get ready to have your mind blown. A dude named Mark Bongo has created a very cool casemod for his Xbox 360 Slim console. The dude gutted the console and put all the innards into the body shell of what appears to be a big remote-controlled version of Bumblebee from Transformers.

The car is a bright yellow Camaro with black stripes. The CD tray for the game discs slides out of the grill. The back window of the car is a little LCD so you can see menus and other things. Mark also customized the controllers with Autobot logos and custom yellow paint.

Unfortunately, there are no build photos that I can find on how he pulled this off. I want to know if the car still has the motors and batteries inside so it is still remote controlled. Probably not. What do you think, is this the coolest mod or what?

Chevy Camaro Computer’S Atom Chip Not as Fast as a V8

I have to say that I’m actually a big fan of the recent trend of automakers bringing back the classic muscle cars of my childhood. One of the better looking retro-modern muscle cars is the Chevy Camaro that played a major role in Transformers. Now, you can own a tiny version of this year’s Camaro to replace your desktop PC.

Chevrolet’s Camaro Computer measures about 20-inches long, and is powered by a dual-core Atom N330 CPU, and an nVidia ION graphics chip under the hood (or maybe in the trunk, I can’t tell for sure.) While it’s probably plenty fast for most things, I prefer the model with the 6.2-liter 426-hp V8.The sub-sub-compact version includes a 500GB hard drive, can handle up to 8GB of RAM, and gets much better gas mileage than an actual Camaro – so it’s got that going for it. There’s also built in 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, and an HDMI ouput. While the Victory Red model looks pretty slick, it’s available in 7 other colors including Aqua Blue, Black, Cyber Gray, Inferno Orange, Silver Ice, Summit White, and Rally Yellow (also known as “Bumblebee Yellow”.)

You can drive the Camaro PC off the lot at the Chevymall today. Prices start at a rather steep $1239 (USD), but to put it in perspective, you could buy a fleet of more than 20 of these for less than an actual Camaro. But despite the subject matter of this humble blog, if you’re buying a gift for me, I’d rather have the car.

Bumblebee Costume Transforms… Into a Stationary Camaro

When done right, cosplaying is one of the few ways – short of a CG-filled live action movie – where we can see how our favorite fictional characters would look like if they were real. When done wrong, however, it’s just – it’s a fountain of glee, is what it is. This Bumblebee costume isn’t much to look at – not too detailed, or shiny or huge – BUT…

…it gets a golden +1 for actually being able to transform:

Steampunk Camaro Could have Singlehandedly Saved the U.S. Auto Industry

When I came across this design for a retro-futuristic Chevy Camaro (aka the Steampunk Kamaro), I nearly lost my mind.

Then I realized that it wasn’t real, and only a graphic rendering by artist John ‘Jazz’ Vernon. Damn you and your photo-realistic rendering skills! My only hope is that since John’s company RodVisions does conceptual renderings of vehicles before owners invest tons of money painstakingly restoring them, maybe, just maybe, somebody is actually getting ready to make a real version of this car.

I’d be more than happy to do donuts on your lawn with this bitchin’ Camaro.
