People are always trying to figure out ways to make the internet more tangible, and one of the more common ways to do this is to build devices that interact with Twitter or Facebook in some way. In this case, we have a pair of devices which let you smell or taste your tweets (and other online messages.)

Designed by Benjamin Redford and the OllyFactory (get it?). Olly and Molly are USB-connected, Arduino-powered gadgets which notify you when you have a new message by letting you follow your nose or taste buds. Olly is the smelly one of the pair – and can be filled with a scented oil of your choice – and then emit an aroma as a notification. You can even stack up multiple Ollies so you can have different digital events trigger different smells.

Molly isn’t stinky at all. This little bot holds onto some little candies, and drops one into its little bin whenever your tweets gets retweeted a pre-set number of times. Though it doesn’t look like it can hold too many candies – which is good if you get a lot of retweets. You wouldn’t want to start gaining weight from Twitter now? That’s all we need now.

Both Olly and Molly are raising funds now over on Kickstarter – and they still have a ways to go if you’d like one. The fundraising ends on Feb. 10, and still needs to raise another $27,000 of its $35,000 goal. A pledge of $50 or more gets you an Olly, and $55 or more gets you a Molly. Higher pledges will result in various combos of Ollies and Mollies, as well as the ability to customize the look of yours.

The latest geek gingerbread treat is an evil one. I present to you the Diablo III Gingerbread Skull, complete with Candy Soulstone. It’s yummy and evil. Now we are officially ready for the game, which is rumored to be released on January 24, 2012.

Too bad you can’t munch on this skull while playing the game. It’ll probably be pretty nasty by the time the game comes out in a month. That’s okay. This guy is so evil it just wants to upset your stomach anyhow. In fact, a demon would probably burst from your chest after you swallow it. Yeah, so maybe it isn’t a great idea to eat this thing.

But it is still an awesome homage to the dark lord of the Diablo games. Is it still considered a gingerbread house if it’s a skull? I guess that doesn’t matter. This gingerbread skull will eat other gingerbread houses for breakfast, belch and grow larger, until it encompasses everything gingerbread in this world.

It’s that time of year again. Geeks are making gingerbread treats that look like other cool things. In this case it’s a gingerbread Breezehome from Skyrim made by a super cute girl.

The girl in question is Youtuber Frosty Starcraft, and though I haven’t gotten around to playing the game yet myself, from what I know, it looks like she did a pretty awesome job of replicating a little Breezehome located in the city of Whiterun.

It has Alduin the dragon on the roof, what looks like Frosted Mini-Wheat shingles and candy for brickwork, and there’s even a dead giant spider right next to the house. I think she did an awesome job. I’m sure it was as fun to make as it will be to eat.

I’ve always loved pinball machines. Sure, video games have completely replaced them as my primary form of gaming entertainment, but I still always love the tactile feel of the flippers and bumpers as they clack against the steel ball. While this pinball machine doesn’t have bumpers (or the steel ball for that matter) it still looks like fun. That’s because it’s filled with gumballs.

To play Gumball Pinball, you simply turn the crank to release three 1-inch gumballs into the field of play. Woo-hoo! Multi-ball on the first try! As the gumballs start to head South, you bat away at them using a pair of flippers. The field has a total of seven holes on it, four which will win you the gumball, and three which result in no prize at all. Gumballs you get in the right holes drop into the candy collection area, while those you miss are returned to a storage bin for later reloading.

Ok, so it doesn’t sound like it will have much replay value after you collect your gumballs, but it still looks like fun for at least a few seconds. And kids will should a blast with this thing. All told, the Gumball Pinball Machine can hold up to 1,700 gumballs (it comes with 850), and the whole machine only weighs 97 lbs, so it shouldn’t be that difficult to transport and set up. It’s available over at Hamamcher Schlemmer for $1,000 (USD).

So why is it that every time I think that all possible ideas for new Star Wars merchandise have been 100% exhausted, someone comes out with yet another product which nobody ever thought about. Case in point, these R2-D2 mints.

Now this particular R2 unit seems to have flipped his lid, but that’s only so you can get at the minty goodness inside, and not because he has a bad motivator unit. It’s hard to tell from the picture, but each mint is also shaped like a little R2-D2 too. It’s too bad that there’s no matching C-3PO candy tin, because they’d look pretty good standing alongside each other on your desk. Oh well, one droid is better than no droids, I suppose.

On the other hand, they will be offering Stormtrooper, Darth Vader and Death Star mints, which freshen your breath with the full power of the Dark Side of the Force.

The R2-D2 mint candy tin is available for pre-order over at Play.com for £3.49 (~$6 USD).

Braiiiiiinnns… braaaaainsss, we all know the zombie mantra. I have found the perfect prop for those of you that plan to dress as a zombie this Halloween or if you are just really hungry for a giant brain made out of gummi stuff. There are a few downsides to this Giant Gummi Brain though.

The first downside is that it is bubble gum flavored. I mean seriously, what genius though that making a red brain that isn’t cherry flavored was a good idea. This is oblivious to the fact that a gummy brain needs to be gray anyhow. On the plus-side, the brain is nearly life-size. Honestly, it’s probably larger than the brains in most of the folks I know.

It’s gluten free and measures approximately 7.7″ (L) x 6.1″ (W) x 3″ (H), and the thing weighs in at about 7 pounds, which is way heavier than the real deal. The giant gummi brain can be yours for £19.99 (~$32 USD) over at Firebox. you can pre-order it right now with a ship date that is unknown. This would be easy to share amongst other zombies using the trusty Crovel to chop it up.

Star Wars and piñatas – they go together like… um… Star Wars and piñatas. Despite the fact that there’s not that much in common between the two, I still love this Death Star piñata.

It was made by Outofthisworldpinata, the same guys who made the equally awesome TIE Fighter piñata, but not the same guys who made the Darth Vader piñata before it. What was that I was saying about Star Wars and piñatas before? Maybe it’s just the Sith and piñatas. With all the recent changes in the upcoming Blu-ray collection, I’m betting it won’t be long before we see a George Lucas piñata too.

One thing to keep in mind with the Death Star piñata is that it exhaust port is a much easier target than the one that Luke had to aim for. You won’t need The Force to find this weak spot:

Or you could just beat the whole thing to a pulp with a baseball bat (or lightsaber if you have one) and watch the (((evil))) candy come spilling out onto the floor. Of course, you’re best off filling it with dark chocolate, natch. If you want the Death Star piñata for your next party, just head on over to Etsy where you can snag it for 40 bucks.

Do you own an amusement park? Are you a gumball addict? Are you Richie Rich? If you answered yes to any of those questions, then you simply must have this monstrous gumball machine. Just like it’s name says, it carries 14,450 gumballs and uses the “classic “Beaver” mechanism”, which apparently is the one that makes the click-clack sound when dispensing gumballs.

The 7-foot tall machine has an acrylic globe with a diameter of 42 ft. I think the globe itself could hold more than 14,450 pieces of gumball, because as it is there’s a spherical insert inside that pushes the contents to the wall to make them more visible and give the illusion that the container is packed.

The mechanism and the dispenser are 49″ from the base and as you can see is at just the right height to allow even kids to get a gumball or two (thousand) without assistance. You don’t need to insert a coin to get a gumball, but you will need to pay Hammacher Schlemmer $3,900 (USD) to get the machine. I’m not sure if it comes with 14,450 gumballs, but at that price it should, and not a gumball less.

If there’s one thing that the world constantly needs, it’s good cases for your smartphones and devices.

I’m partial to silicone cases, while my sister goes for the leather ones. My dad likes hard shell cases while my other sister carries around her gadgets in the nude (and her phone and iPod are obviously the most banged up ones in our family.)

However, these cases by Jelly Belly are right up my alley. I mean, who doesn’t love jelly beans? I literally grew up eating these during class (when the teacher wasn’t looking) and I still gorge myself on these tasty treats every once in a while.

The cases are made from durable TPI plastic and come in five enticing scents (that happen to be the most popular flavors of Jelly Belly’s jelly beans): Strawberry Cheesecake, Very Cherry, Blueberry, Licorice and Berry Blue.

Aside from the cases, Jelly Belly is also releasing jelly bean-shaped earbuds that follow the same color theme as the cases. However, unlike the latter, they won’t be scented. But really, who would want their ears to come off smelling like candy after each and every use?

The Jelly Belly cases and earbuds will go for $15 a pop. Sweet!

I love when an item I discover combines two of my favorite things, and this PS2/PS3 controller made out of chocolate satisfies those requirements perfectly. Michelle’s This and That is making these chocolate bars in the shape of a Dual-Shock controller, in either milk or dark chocolate.

The buttons can be made in colors or peanut butter too. Nothing like a D-Pad made out of peanut butter, right? Usually if I want that I have to eat some Reese’s then play some Killzone 3 in order to get that same effect.

To sweeten Michelle’s already sweet deal, the set includes a “game disc” for Grand Theft Chocolate. Personally, I’d like God of Chocolate III or LittleBigChocolate 2 instead, but GTC will have to satisfy my stomach for now.

You can get your hands these delectable PS2/PS3 controller chocolates over at Michelle’s Etsy shop. A single controller will set you back just 7 bucks, or you can grab the controller/disc combo for $14. If you want any customization or want more than one, be sure to drop Michelle a convo. Personally, I’d like a full-size PS3 made from chocolate, then dipped in a crunchy candy shell.

Maybe it’s because I have a horrible sweet-tooth, but for some reason, I’ve got candy on the brain today. Heck, even some gadgets are starting to look like candy to me. As a matter of fact, I thought I was looking at a digital camera, but all I see is a chocolate bar.

The Fuuvi chocolate bar camera is small enough to fit in your pocket – just don’t put it in your mouth unless you want a rude awakening. Plastic doesn’t taste very good. And chocolate apparently isn’t very good for taking photos – these little cameras take a very lo-fi 1.3 megapixel stills and only VGA (640×480) or QVGA (320×240) videos. Whaddya want from a bar of chocolate? It’s not a Nikon, right?

In addition to milk chocolate, it’s available in white chocolate and strawberry chocolate variants. Mmmm. Strawberry chocolate sounds pretty good, although fresh strawberries dipped in chocolate would be better. A camera dipped in chocolate, not so much. You can get these tasty (looking) chocolate cameras over at the Four Corner Store for $40 (USD).

Super Mario Bros. Star Candy come in a nice box that’s filled with star-shaped candy. Now, you can walk around pretending you’re invincible although you’d only be in your own mind. There’s also a 1Up mushroom and a normal mushroom candy box available as well.

Too bad some people report that the candy doesn’t taste all that good, but I have to say that at as little as $1.70 for a tin it’s cheap enough for you to try for yourself. Then again, candy is meant to be eaten, and creating candy that doesn’t taste good is somewhat strange.

I’m guessing that Sonic the Hedgehog was feeling jealous of Pac-Man and Mario having their own sugary treats, so he had to get into the candy-making action.

While I think that Sonic’s candies should look like gold rings, I’m guessing they thought a roll of Butter Rum LifeSavers would have been sort of lame, so they went ahead and made these mystical, magical Chaos Emerald candies instead. (Memo to self: call the LifeSavers folks with this idea.)

Each tin of Sonic candy comes in a tin that looks like Sonic’s spiky blue hair, and is loaded with apple and cherry flavored candies shaped like emeralds. It would be cool if they came in all the different emerald colors, but you’ll have to settle for red only. You can grab a tin over at fractalspin for $3.25 (USD). Or you could buy about 3 rolls of LifeSavers instead.

I am writing this story quietly with my office door shut. You see, my son LOVES KitKat bars. I’m talking he would live off the things if you let him. We buy them in bulk at Sam’s Club and he eats one every day after school for a snack. If you mess around and run out of KitKats, it’s not a happy day around my house.

I am sneaking around with this story, because if he sees this gigantic KitKat Chunky bar I know we will end up having to make one. It looks really tasty! The woman in the video shows you how to make one and the process seems easy enough.

You melt loads of chocolate and the thing has some sort of chocolate wafer cookies in the middle covered by even more chocolate. Loaded with a whopping 36,017 calories, the finished product will make you fat just looking at it. She even made up her own wrapper that looks just like the real thing. I think I could break you off a piece of your skull with that KitKat bar. Now I have to go hit the KitKat stash while you watch the video.

I’ve never heard of a supervillain-themed party, but if you’re planning on throwing one then you might want to check out this recipe for Kryptonite Candy by Britt Michelsen aka BrittLiv, the same person who made the Pixel Trash Can. BrittLiv used Riboflavin vitamin B2 in place of the non-existent mineral, because apparently the nutrient glows in UV light, and even in direct light.

Making kryptonite candy seems pretty simple. All you need are some vitamin B2 pills, water, sugar and food coloring. The only tricky part is that you’ll have to cook with as little light as possible. More on that in a bit.

So why would you need to make this candy in the dark? You see, unlike Superman’s most hated ore, Kryptonite Candy won’t glow forever. According to BrittLiv, exposure to light will eventually “destroy” Vitamin B2, but the process is pretty slow so you’ll have ample time to enjoy your glow-in-the-dark candy. BrittLiv didn’t mention if it’s still safe to eat the candy after the Vitamin B2 has degraded. Now that might be your stomach’s kryptonite. Practice your evil laughter and check out Instructables for the recipe.

While I’d never spend the time making a s’more shaped like a keyboard, it’s a fun thing to see when most of us spend so much time in front of our computers.

The maker must have been pretty dedicated to his task when he created this intricate keyboard s’more. This isn’t something brand new – it was first spotted on the Fohguild forum in 2006 – but it’s still pretty cool. Wouldn’t you want to eat it, or would you rather type on it?

If someone actually produced a s’more keyboard, I wonder just how long it would last. I’m guessing it probably would end up in pieces pretty quickly.

Yep, what you’re looking at is the Earth’s largest edible earthworm (a.k.a. the World’s largest gummy worm). At 128x larger than a “standard” gummy worm (is there such a thing as a “standard” for gummy worms?), it measures 26-inches long, weighs in at about 3 pounds, and will fill your tummy up with 4,000 calories of gooey worm gel.

Yep – eat a whole one, and you’ll instantly gain over a pound – even after digestion. Next time Matt Damon or Robert DeNiro need to gain weight for a movie role, they should eat some of these instead of donuts.

I don’t know what it is with cheap-o novelty makers and their insistence on making mock versions of everyday objects that intentionally jolt you with electricity. I suppose we can blame those old Adams joy buzzer tricks for inspiring such malevolent goods. So here we have the latest in a long line of nasty surprises – shock chocolate (say that ten times fast.)

And these aren’t just any shocking candy bars, nope, they induce “HAPPYNESS BECAUSE OF SHOCK.” Did they recently see that horrible Will Smith movie, or did they come up with that spelling all on their own? Either way, I can assure you that these battery-charged chocolate bars contain Golden Ticket straight to cardiac arrest.

Despite the fact that the product listing says “harmless shocking chocolate,” it goes on to say…

**NOT suitable for children under 14!
**NOT suitable for people suffering from epilepsy, heart disease, or similar illnesses!
**NOT suitable for pregnant lady!
**DO NOT taunt Happy Fun Ball!

Sorry, had to put that last one in there. If you’re really feeling mischievous (and your victim doesn’t fall into one of the above categories), you can get you rotten little hands on these over at Gadget4All for $6 (USD) a bar.
