Street Fighter Monopoly Coming: How Do You Pull Off Combo Moves with Dice?

I think we’ve seen almost every version of Monopoly possible. There’s Star Trek Monopoly, Nintendo Monopoly, Star Wars Monopoly, Futurama Monopoly and now it looks like there’s a Street Fighter version coming from Capcom and USAopoly.

It’s pretty much what you would expect. You’ll get the usual themed board spaces and the game pieces will be Street Fighter characters of course, which beats a hat and a thimble any day – unless the hat is the one that M. Bison wears.

Since there are so many Street Fighter characters to choose from, Capcom is leaving it up you to vote on which ones you want. If you want your say, head over to their blog and vote. Right now, the choices are down to: Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, Blanka, E. Honda, Zangief, Dhalsim, Balrog, Vega, Sagat, and M. Bison. Unfortunately, it looks like Akuma and Rufus didn’t make the cut.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Trailer Loaded with Zombies, Brutal Kills

Resident Evil fans have been waiting for the launch of the upcoming Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City game and now a new trailer has been released to show you more details of the gameplay. Spoiler alert! There are zombies! Lots of them!

The Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City gameplay shown here illustrates the need for team work, with four team members working together to defeat the infected. It looks pretty intense and it may even add some a little something new to the franchise. It should be some hectic and brutal action.

The game takes place during the events of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. It’s set in Raccoon City, where all of the people have been turned into zombies after the T-virus outbreak. And as you can see from the trailer, you will have to splatter more than a few heads. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is coming our way on March 20th for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, and can be pre-ordered over on Amazon now.

Resident Evil 6 Lets Zombies Run and Use Weapons

Last month Capcom announced Resident Evil 6 and that it will hit the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on November 20, 2012. That’s a long way off, but at least we are getting some news about the game in the meantime.

The latest RE game is set 10 years after the Raccoon City incident, and Leon and Chris will team up in this game. It will take place in a town called Lanshiang in China, in the year 2013. Other characters include Helena Harper: a secret service agent and the president’s bodyguard, Ingrid Hunnigan: Field Operations Support for Leon, and the US president Adam Benford. There’s also a mercenary character who has been told that “he is the man to save the world.” That’s all we know about him.

The game will also feature a revamped control scheme, including the ability to shoot while moving, and slide and roll tactics to get to cover. The zombies will also have some new tricks up their sleeves, the ability to run, jump and wield weapons. Seems like this could make it a whole new game. No more slow zombies lumbering towards you. This should be interesting. In my opinion, the franchise has been getting stale and this should definitely spice things up.

Hori Fight Stick for Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 Now Available in the US

Do you like Marvel? Capcom? Like to see those characters fight each other? Of course you do, and now US gamers can deliver the best possible smackdown via Hori’s Fight Stick for Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, as the game controller is now available in the US market.

Europeans have had this arcade stick for a little while, and now it’s our turn here in the States. As you can see it features several characters from the Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 game on the base of the controller itself. Each one has an arcade-quality joystick, eight gaming buttons, and a turbo function. The Xbox 360 version also has a connector for newer headsets.

The Hori Fight Stick for Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for $149.99(USD). You can get one from Hori’s US website. It’s a bit late for Christmas, but hell, you deserve one last gift.

Mega Man X on iOS: Rockman Hits the iPhone

Are you the type of gamer who enjoys playing retro games, especially the ones that you loved when you were younger? Well check out Mega Man X, which was just released for the iPhone and iPod Touch (sorry no iPad version yet.) I remember playing Mega Man X on the SNES console for hours and now you can do the same on your iPhone.

Capcom announced yesterday that Mega Man X is now available from the iTunes App Store. The classically challenging 2D action platformer will have you ripping your hair out, thanks to its unforgiving bosses. You’ll get improved graphics and an easy mode for all you newbies.

It’s not an exact port of the original Super Nintendo game, but it’s the best you’ll be able to do on your iPhone (unless you jailbreak it and run an SNES emulator). Mega Man X is available right now at the iTunes App Store for $4.99.

And if you don’t know why you would want to play yet another old game instead of the latest console game, watch this.

Japan Getting Nintendo 3DS in Ice White, 3DS Monster Hunter G Bundle

A while back I told you about the new Misty Pink 3DS from Nintendo. Now it looks like the big N is unleashing another color, this time on the cool end of the spectrum, Ice White.

Isn’t ice usually clear? Snow is white. Just sounds like a breath mint flavor to me. Anyway, if you can’t wait to get your dirty fingerprints all over this one, it will be available in Japan on November 3 for 15,000 Yen (~$195 USD).

The other bit of news from Nintendo and Capcom is regarding the “Monster Hunter 3G Special Pack”, which Monster Hunter fans will go crazy about. It includes a 3DS in white that sports a special red graphic design and of course Monster Hunter 3G.

The Monster Hunter 3G Pack will be available in Japan on December 10 for ~$274(USD).

Tiger Uppercut! Street Fighter II and Final Fight Now Available for iPhone

As far as old school fighting games go, you can’t do much better than Street Fighter II. Well, we have some good news for iPhone users who love that classic game. Capcom Mobile has released both Final Fight and the Street Fighter II Collection for iDevices.

Final Fight looks like a pretty standard port of the original SNES game. It’s cool and all, but forget that one. We are really excited about the Street Fighter II collection. It gives you Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II: Championship Edition, and Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting. What more do you need? (Except buttons, maybe?)

Both games feature Bluetooth multiplayer and virtual controls. They are available right now on the iTunes App Store. Final Fight is just $0.99 (USD) and Street Fighter II will cost you $3.99. You can’t get this much fun for $4 anywhere else.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3: The Characters That Didn’t Make The Cut

Despite its huge roster, damage that racks up to millions and the inclusion of Deadpool, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 still has standards. There are levels of absurdity that they would never descend, like including joke characters. Dorkly imagines a handful of characters that are too ridiculous, even for MvC3.

My favorite has to be Morph, although he’s still leagues better than Doug Ramsey. And to be fair to Dust Man, his vacuum ability is really powerful. But lame.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 vs. Guitar Hero

In case you didn’t hear it this week, the Guitar Hero franchise is no longer. In tribute to their fallen gaming comrades, the guys over at Capcom decided to pay tribute to the game with a little game of their own – Marvel vs. Capcom 3 played on a couple of Guitar Hero guitar controllers.

From the looks of the video clip below, it’s not the most practical way to play a combo-based fighter, and they have to play in “Simple” mode just to have any chance of playing, but for some reason, it never dawned on me that you could play other non-music games with your music peripherals. I don’t know why, but I just never thought about it.

It just makes me want to see if I can get through the entirety of Ninja Gaiden II on hard mode using only my Rock Band drum kit and a couple of drum sticks.

Officially Licensed Street Fighter Iv HDTV: Hadouken’T Understand This Trend

It seems like Roundtable Concept’s Official Marvel HDTVs were a big hit, because now they’ve partnered with CAPCOM to release official Street Fighter IV LED HDTVs. The TVs will be available in four sizes – 32″, 40″, 42″ and 46″. Just like the Marvel HDTVs, these ones will feature SF IV characters and the logo on the bottom corners of the frame. Street Fightery images will also appear on the screen for 8 seconds when the HDTV is turned on.

It seems like HDTVs are the new arcade cabinets. No word on the price of the TV’s yet, or if they’ll include a free copy of Street Fighter IV. But they should.

More April Fools fun! This time it’s from Japan. Someone at Japanese Internet forum 2chan posted what looks like a copy of a video game mag bearing this juicy newsflash:

Check out the whole screenshot at Comboadictos or at EventHubs, where commenters are pointing out that the text in the article is actually about Chrome Hounds. I don’t know if the culprit is someone from 2chan, or if it’s from Famitsu or hell even from Capcom, but whoever you are shame on you, making millions of CVS fans drool and writhe in agony.

Ugly but Rare Mega Man 10 Poster on Ebay

Pocket Fighter: Street Fighter 4 Coming to iPhone

The iPhone continues its quest to be recognized as a legit gaming device with the impending port of Capcom’s Street Fighter IV to Apple’s money-printing mobile device. As the screenshot below shows, the iPhone port looks a lot like the console versions, although I bet a lot of gamers will complain about the area taken up by the controls. It does look kinda distracting.

Capcom also promises a sizable roster, all of the moves including Ultras (and their corresponding animations), as well as “a number of control configurations so players can find their favorite position, button transparency, and set-up”. Multiplayer battles will be done over Bluetooth, and there’s a training mode as well. No word on the price or release date as of now.

What do you think fighting game enthusiasts? Can you imagine playing (and having fun with) Street Fighter IV on the iPhone?

A Monster Hunter’S Essentials: Weapons, Armor, and Twitter and Facebook Accounts

Monster Hunter 3 is the best selling third-party Wii game in Japan, and to ensure that the coming North American and European versions enjoy the same success, Capcom has started revving up the hype machine. So Monster Hunters, ready your keyboards, hold tight to your mice, and venture out to the wilderness of twitter and Facebook, for there you will find Ironbeard McCullough aka The Master Hunter, “a proud and distinguished hunter from the bustling town of Rockrack,” whose “blade has drawn true through hide, tooth and scale.”

That’s Ironbeard right there, the menacing dragon on the right. Okay he’s the bearded dude. Friend him and follow him, because he’ll soon be dispensing tips and tricks to help you survive and slay beasts. Right now though his Facebook profile is practically empty, and all he’s done on twitter is dish out some Irish smack talk.

The North American and European versions of Monster Hunter 3 (or tri or however the hell you want to pronounce it) will be released this April.

Mega Man fans rejoice! Or not. Footage of Mega Man 10, the upcoming retro-sequel taken at the recently concluded CES 2010 has popped up on the internets. But will you, the theoretical hardcore gamer, be insulted by the presence of an Easy mode in the latest of Masochist Man Mega Man’s adventures? That’s just one of the tidbits you can gobble up to satisfy your Blue Bomber cravings if you read the feedback from the lucky bloggers who got some hands-on time with the trial version.

More New Old Mega Man on the Way

After the fabulous reception for Mega Man 9, it seemed inevitable that there would in turn be a Mega Man 10, if for no other reason than the fact that it’s Mega Man and Capcom has a certain penchant for tacking ever-higher numbers onto the titles of their games. But there was no guarantee they’d stick with the updated retro style of the title.

So here’s what we do know: the NES-style will be maintained. There will be new bosses, like Sheep Man (who does in fact look a little sheepy). There will be Mega Man (and Proto Man). And, for all the crybabies out there (read: regular people with thumbs still sore from Mega Man 9), there will be an Easy Mode.

What we don’t know is where and when the game will appear, though another timed exclusive for WiiWare seems like a safe guess, with an eventual release to other formats.

Mega Man Fan Tributes Fills the Blue Bomber’S Heart Tank With Love

Last month, Capcom held a Mega Man tribute contest to commemorate the 1st anniversary of the release of Mega Man 9 on the Wii. They requested fans to submit anything that showed their love for the blue bomber, with the best tribute winning a Mega Man 9 press kit, the one with an SNES cartridge for a case. The contest is now over, and the top 30 picks are being shown at Capcom Unity. The top 10 picks aren’t posted yet, but there are already quite a few gems to be found from #30 to #11. I leave it up to you to decide if the drawing below, which got the 29th spot, is one of those gems:

Megaman-Inspired Street Fighter 4 Sprites: Ryuman Vs Sagatman Fight!

If you’ve ever wondered how Ryu and the rest of the warriors who like to battle on thoroughfares would look like if they were transported to Megaman’s original 8-bit world, you probably have too much time on your hands. Waste no more of your life, because Capcom forum member SpeedBrkr – he’s so fast some of the vowels in his name were left behind – has gone and done did it for your daydreaming ass. Behold, the cast of Street Fighter IV in 8-bit, Megaman style. Or Rockman style.

He’s also made a wallpaper in various resolutions, including an iPhone-ready version, made to look like a character select screen. You think the Blue Bomber can beat all of these fighters?

Damn those eyes are huge. Want individual sprites? SpeedBrkr’s got you covered. He’s not charging us for his awesome work, but if you’re going to use them on your site or anything please let him know.

Outrageous Dead Rising 2 Trailer

Dead Rising had some pretty ridiculous moments, certainly, though they tended to be sandwiched between runs to the bathroom and epic chainsawing sessions filled with flying limbs. For the sequel, it looks like Capcom is taking the craziness a few steps further. We’ve already seen the Vegas-like city and the giant hamster balls of death… and now? An absolutely silly trailer from Tokyo.

That looks pretty crazy, right? Nothing like a fountain of zombie blood for the best splash effects. But that’s nothing compared to this video.
