In other news, China just announced that the Great Wall of China is actually a robotic snake statue based on an  epic tale that was all the rage back in 230 BC. A tale about a giant robotic snake.

Yep, that’s the idea behind interactive artist Eric Loyer’s new iPhone app, Ruben & Lullaby. By jostling your iPhone, you’ll make the lovers angry. Give them a little stroke, and they’ll calm down and maybe even shed a tear.

Your motions and gestures control the destiny of the young couple, and each action produces a real-time reaction from the characters in your little mobile drama. It’s sort of like a Tamagotchi for adults, with a couple, on a park bench.

Ruben & Lullaby is the first of Loyer’s Opertoon series, which envisions animated stories that can be played like a musical instrument. While the concept of two fighting lovers seems a bit odd, the interactive component could be pretty cool for other animated stories.

This Anime Bioshock illustration by Shuugo envisions the little sisters with those bright Anime saucer eyes, making them look more curious than ominous. Big Daddy didn’t get quite as much of a makeover, but he sure like he’s taking a nap after an exhausting day playing with the kids.

While the game has been resurrected numerous times on everything from CD-ROM to DVD to PC, this is the first time it’s making its way to true high-definition disc formats.

Bucking the recent industry trend of Blu-ray only releases, the classic title will be hitting both Blu-ray and HD DVD formats, and will support widescreen Full HD (1080p) resolution. The game has been lovingly restored and remastered from the original film footage, and pumps up the volume with an enhanced 5.1 surround soundtrack.

Expect the title to include interactive gameplay using your video player’s remote control (or your PS3 controller), as well as picture-in-picture commentary by the games original creators Don Bluth, Gary Goldman, and Rick Dyer.

Space Ace should hit stores on April 8th for a rather pricey $49.95. Digital Leisure has started to accept pre-orders now. While you’re there sure to check out Bluth’s other classic, Dragon’s Lair in high def if you haven’t already.

When not attached to your computer, the connectors provide Mickey with his ears. When connected though, the Vincent van Mouse look is a bit disturbing. While the hub’s cartoon design might to appeal to Disneyanna collectors, it’s nothing to write home about in the utility department, giving you just two additional USB ports.

If you’re a Disney fan and can forgive the oddly interpretive character design, the Yujin Mickey Mouse USB Hub can be found at StrapYa for just about $19.

While they won’t exactly pass for the real deal, they’re a fun way to show your Nintendo spirit without the pain and risk of infection. They’re just $1.25 each, so pick up a whole bunch and cover your whole body with ‘em.

According to ATHF series creators Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis, “This golden chalice represents a new age in gaming, the likes of which has never before been seen on this planet. The weak will tremble at the awesomeness of our full color, hand-made graphics!” With an endorsement like that, I can only imagine that the game will be better than God of War, Halo, Super Mario Brothers and Grand Theft Auto 3 all rolled into one.

The game is expected to hit stores this Fall for the PlayStation 2, following the release of the upcoming ATHF movie, coming out this April.
