These attractive sleeves for your tablet and laptop come in two designs: a composition notebook and an interoffice envelope. They’re pretty tame to bust out my device from their current state of boringness, but I’m just the type of person who finds it amusing to dress them up in something they aren’t (or are they? I mean, it could very well be a notebook, and you can use applications in the device to deliver messages to your colleagues, replacing the need for interoffice envelopes. Just saying.)

The outside of these sleeves are comprised of water repellent microfiber, while the insides are lined with soft fleece. Diana is currently ramping up for a large production run of Wonder Threads, which are currently up for funding on Kickstarter. A minimum pledge of $35(USD) will let you get your hands on one of these fun sleeves.

The cases from Schreer Delights certainly look authentic. They’ve got a couple of other models, including the G4 Graphite, and some non-Apple themed cases as well. The retro iMac iPhone case in Bondi Blue looks really good in my opinion. The graphics are printed deep in the plastic of the case, so even if the case is slightly damaged, the images won’t fade.

The cases are available for the iPhone 4 and 4S for $45(USD) each, but they might not be available for long, because Apple is sure to flex their legal muscles to protect their intellectual property rights. So if you want one, you’d better move quick.

Vasare Nar’s cases are inspired by geometry and Aztec tribal art. The abstract geometric shapes are definitely distinctive, especially in the bold colors he offers.

The idea for this design comes from ancient manuscripts from China, where before paper was invented, they used to carve their books into strips of bamboo held together by string. G.O.D. notes that in Chinese culture, people still hold printed books this way.

The Literati Roll Case uses the same approach, breaking the tablet’s cover down into individual strips which can be rolled up. The case can be used as a stand as well. While the prototypes were made out of bamboo, the production models will be made out of plastic, available in black or white. Since the case was designed specifically on behalf of Blackberry, it’s unlikely that the Literati will be available for the iPad or other popular tablets any time soon.

If it wasn’t painfully obvious from the giant, obnoxious watermarks, this floppy-disk iPad case was made by none other than RabbitRampage – who has in the past brought us such goodies as the game console iPhone cases and some tiny felt game controllers.

While this felt case is modeled after the old 3.5 inch floppy disk, it actually measures in at 8.5 inches by 10.25 inches in order to accommodate your tablet. That makes it even bigger than one of those gigantic, antiquated 8 inch floppies, but rectangular instead of square. That gets me thinking – how would the disc turn inside of a rectangular enclosure anyhow?

The iPhone Lens Wallet is designed to keep your magnetic iPhone cell lenses in one fold-out case since it comes with a magnetic strip to hold your macro/wide lens, fisheye, and the 2× telephoto lens. It will even take an 8× telephoto lens in its side pocket, as well as a one of those lens-adapter case backs and a mini tripod.

Photojojo sells the iPhone Lens Wallet for $15(USD), or you can get it all packed up with all of the lenses mentioned above for $79.

Korean designer Sang Hwa Lee came up with this ingenious concept which turns your headphone cable into a bumper for your gadget when not in use. By using a flat tangle-proof rubber ribbon cable for the headphone cord, they simply wrap around the perimeter of your device when not in use. The three layers of rubber even provide added protection when the cord is stowed. It’s not 100% clear from these images, but it looks like the earbuds themselves would be fairly low profile, and snap into a groove placed on the headphone line itself along the edge of the device.

I’m still not completely sure of how the cable would stay put, but that could probably be achieved by pairing the headphones with a matching case with clips built in to hold it. While it’s definitely not ready for production, the concept seems like it’s on the right track to finally solving this annoying and challenging problem. Kickstarter, anyone?

Kidding aside, though, I’d very much prefer an iPhone case that I can customize, decorate, and design myself – but with minimal effort. Because frankly, I don’t have the luxury of time to whip out some chain saws or glue guns to make up my own case.

This is why I think the Cubit case is a great idea.

X-Doria’s Cubit Case is basically a white frame that you’re supposed to insert the included green, orange, and blue cubes into. Form patterns, make out your initials, or just alternate empty frames with filled frames to create a one-of-a-kind and personalized iPhone case the easy way.

Evouni’s Leather Arc Cover is quite simple and elegant in its design, made from Italian calfskin leather that will get even more supple with use. While it’s made for iPhones, it looks like it might accommodate phones from other manufacturers, since it’s not really designed to be a snug fitting case.

You can get it on Amazon for $69.99(USD) in either black or claret (though I’m unsure what color that is in the picture below.) They also make a version for the iPad 2 for $120. Evouni have a variety of other cases listed over at their online store as well.

The Leverage case by Graft works with the iPhones 4 and 4S. Its hard polycarbonate shell has a soft-touch matter finish, and is available in black or white. The zinc-alloy latch is available in either matte or chrome finish, and works sort of like the deployment buckle on a watch band. The design isn’t supposed to interfere with the functions of your phone, so hopefully it won’t affect the antenna or signal.

Smarty trumps other stands in the sense that when it says it’s convertible, it really is, thanks to ingenious folding techniques and magnets embedded into it. With a few folds here and there, you can convert the soft, protective sleeve into an angled stand for reading e-Books or watching videos.

Its makers state that with the cover in place and a reasonable amount of sunlight, you’ll be able to use your Kindle for three months straight before needing a regular recharge. The SolarKindle cover also comes with an LED lamp, to allow you late night reading. The lamp will be juiced up for 50 hours of continuous use.

The cover can also be recharged via USB, so it doubles as conventional battery in case there isn’t much sun around. Thanks to the Kindle’s minimal power requirements, an hour under the sun translates to 3 days of reading. The SolarKindle cover will retail for $79.99 when it’s launched.

The Legacy case was designed by Maxime de Keiser of Les Forges MDK. The design is supposed to be a tribute to the original Mac 128K computer – minus the brick-shaped mouse, black and white screen and 3.5″ floppy drive.

The Art Deco influenced Aerodyne was created by Jeffrey Stephenson. The system is built around a Mini-ITX form factor PC, so its footprint is pretty small. The mini PC doesn’t have a fan to keep things compact, and is made out of mahogany and aluminum. Inside, it has an Intel Core i3 processor, an integrated Intel HD3000 graphics processor, a 256GB Crucial M4 SSD hard drive, and 8GB Crucial DDR 3 RAM. While those aren’t top-of-the-line specs, they’re still pretty solid for a compact machine like this.

The Gizmon iCA makes your iPhone 4 or 4S look a lot like an old Leica IIIf. The case is made out of 32 different polycarbonate components, and even contains a lens mount that will allow you to use optional lenses for your iPhone camera. It’s even got a working shutter button and an optical viewfinder. So the case is not just for show (though the big fake lens in the middle is.) There’s even a tripod mount on the bottom of the case. They eventually plan on offering an external flash, a remote shutter and other accessories for the iCA as well.

The Gizmon iCA costs $65 (USD) at Four Corner Store, and it’s available in white, black and brown. The strap costs another $30 and the lenses – a macro or a fisheye, sell for an extra $45. That seems like quite a lot to spend on a case. The SuperPopCam app that is supposed to work well with the case sells for $0.99, though it’s compatible with any iPhone photo app.
