The Idostand has two rotating arms that allow for the optimal positioning of your iPhone. There are no additional parts, and the case/stand has a hinged system that allow the arms to snap into place whenever they’re not in use. The case is minimal but does protect your phone as well. Hopefully, it won’t have some of the antenna interference issues that other metal cases have had, or the final design will be made out of another material.

The Idostand will soon be raising funds over on Kickstarter, so keep your eyes peeled if you’re interested in getting one.

Amazon.com already has a placeholder for a Limited Edition Collector’s Blu-ray Set which is rumoured to be a 6-10 disc set. Sadly it won’t be nearly as cool as this concept from Dave Delisle.

This is NOT official concept art for a Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Avengers set, but this is everything we would want from such a set. Dave’s concept envisions a giant 26″ long model of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s flying Helicarrier, with storage for not just the current Avengers flick, but extra disc trays for future releases. In fact, Dave says the Helicarrier could hold somewhere between 30 and 50 discs when fully outfitted.

Each engine/wing would even snap off to provide access to a subset of the discs. If only this were the set that we were getting. Oh well, we can dream. Anyway, I’m sure this would cost a fortune. Still, I know that I would be willing to pay.

The condom-like Case Marine is only 0.25mm thick and has a JIS rating of IPX8, which means that it’s waterproof to nearly 33 feet. That’s pretty amazing for something so thin. Naturally, you’ll need to peel it off in order to use the dock connector or headphone jack. The current version works with iPhone 4/4S and Samsung Galaxy II phones, but an iPad version is in the works as well.

The premium version of the Gooma Case Marine sells for as little as $38 if you happen to live in Japan, but if you must have one, you can find it at the Japan Trend Shop for the rather ridiculous price of $71(USD) – plus shipping.

This is the reason why I think the Ö Case concept design by Löytö Esineiden is such a good idea. It’s probably going to be a huge hit, too, since I know a lot of people who are looking for something exactly like it.

Aside from keeping your phone safe and secure, it comes with a screen-cleaning slider that will get rid of all those annoying fingerprints and grease marks, just by swiping it up and down the screen.

It also has two slots at the bottom where you can hook your earphones through it after you wind it over your device, so you can finally say goodbye to messy and tangled earphones. Pretty neat, huh?

The Moshi iGlaze with VersaCover was unveiled at CTIA last week and it will allow you to prop up your tablet in portrait or landscape orientation by flexing it at various fold points. The cover attaches to your iPad using magnets, and has a soft microfiber finish to protect your screen. I’ve always thought that the Smart Cover was nice, but a bit limited in terms of the angles you can use it at.

The VersaCover package includes an iGlaze, which is a clear backing case for your iPad to protect it from scratches too. It will be available this June and will sell for $60 (USD).

The Etcher case was recently launched as a Kickstarter project. The knobs will actually work just like a real Etch A Sketch, allowing users to draw straight lines on the iPad’s screen. Plus, the whole tablet will erase itself when you shake it. The case will work with an official app on the App Store, so there is no need to jailbreak your iPad to use it.

The Etcher case is available starting at $60(USD), but there are other versions up for grabs in the next 30 days, and there’s an early adopter deal for the first 100 people to get one for just $45. At the time of writing, the Kickstarter project had amassed $5,295 out of a projected $75,000, with 30 days left for funding, so it’s got a long way to go. Of course, you could always just spend $15 and buy an actual Etch A Sketch.

The Kudocase doubles as a stand, and uses photovoltaic ink technology to generate electricity from indoor or outdoor light. The device has a slim 4mm 10,000 mAh battery, and will also let other mobile devices, like smartphones and cameras, get juiced up via the built-in USB port. The solar charger is supposed to provide up to 10 days of power for the average user.

The case itself is rubber-coated and composed of biodegradable corn grain. Like any good iPad case, it supports automatic sleep/wake, and works at several angles. It also has a handy built-in HDMI port.

Kudocase began as a Kickstarter project and raised more than four times its initial funding goal. It’s now being produced in black, with more colors – blue, gray, green, and pink, being released at a later date. It sells for $190 at the Kudo shop and it starts shipping on May 11.

Solar power is a cool addition, and the whole package looks a lot more streamlined than their previous Keyboard Case. The JoeyBra is being crowdfunded through Kickstarter, and it’s the product of two students from the University of Washington. It looks like it can stash some cash and credit cards as well. Apparently, Kyle and Mariah have done enough research before starting this, so they’re pretty stoked about this. They did a survey among 200 young women and found that 95% had a problem with where to put their belongings while out partying and 73% lost personal items. 88% were interested in hiding away their personal items on their person.

The Kickstarter project has amassed more than half of its $4,000 goal with almost three weeks left for funding. This means that in all likelihood, it will get made. You’ll need to pledge $30(USD) or more to get yours.

It’s made even more distinctive because of the large, retro, Apple pixel logo on the back. The 8-Bit Bumper case comes in a variety of different colors and I have to say that I’ll probably order one because I haven’t seen any around. The biggest selling point of the Brydge is that it just looks beautiful with the iPad, blending well with Apple’s laptops and desktops in both appearance and material. Sure, it also has built-in speakers, a full-sized keyboard and it holds the iPad firmly in place, but you can find those features in other keyboard cases too. Unless it turns out to have a major flaw the Brydge will sell based on its looks alone.

To prove my point, the Kickstarter fundraiser for Brydge met its goal of $90,000 (USD) within a day of its launch, despite not having a pledge option lower than $150(USD). $90,000 in one day, despite the fact that most – if any at all – of the backers have not tested the keyboard case yet and that inventor Brad Leong is a relative unknown.

I’m not saying Leong doesn’t deserve the success or that the Brydge is a scam – heck, I want one – just that he knows how to capture an Apple fan’s heart – through their eyeballs. You can pre-order the Brydge on Kickstarter with a pledge of at least $170.

I suppose if you’re in a war zone, this could come in handy. The case isn’t very sexy, and the back is a bit thick, but I guess that thickness is needed to stop a machine gun from going to town on your iPhone. I’m sure that soldiers and mercenaries who carry smartphones will appreciate this.

If you want one, you’ll need to order it through Marudai’s site[JP] and you’ll have to pay ¥52,500 (~$650 USD) for it. It’s certainly not cheap, but then again if it keeps your lines of communication open when you’re under fire, it’s well worth it.

The iFoolish iPhone case allows you to play Magna Doodle on a more compact scale. Due to copyright issues, it couldn’t be named the Magna Doodle case, but it works like one anyhow. It has a mini stylus to let you draw on the board, as well as a slider to clear the slate when you’re done.

Rubber around your precious iPhone is good, and there is plenty of rubber on this case. The back of the case looks just like the rubber sole from a pair of Vans sneakers, which is why it’s just so awesome.

They are available from Vans stores for $28 (USD). However, they’re so hard to come by that you can find some on eBay for $60 to $100 and more. If you really want one, you should probably scour the Vans stores in your city and maybe you’ll strike gold. I think I might try to do that myself.

The Feed Me iPhone 4/4S is pretty nifty, since it allows you to stash anything from loose earbuds to money inside a little pocket that’s made to look like a mouth. It’s kind of funny looking actually, and you won’t spend too much money on it. The only thing that you should be careful is about stashing things like loose change. It’s possible that it would scratch up your iPhone.

The case even comes with several eyeball stickers you can place in the bottom indentation to give it different expressions.

Aside from the usual Bluetooth keyboard and protective case, the NoteBookCase also has a built-in 4,000 mAh battery, which you can then use to charge the attached iPad 2 as well as other gadgets, thanks to its USB port. While the NoteBookCase is designed for the iPad 2, there’s a chance it’ll fit the 3rd gen iPad as well, as many iPad 2 cases still fit the new model.

Third Rail Mobility did cheat a bit though, because unlike other battery cases the company’s case is separate from the battery itself. The case has a slot in the back where you slide in its 1250 mAh Lithium-ion battery. As I mentioned above, the battery itself can be used to recharge other gadgets via USB, thanks to its integrated microUSB port.

This two-piece system has other advantages as well, not least of which is giving the user the option to have a slim protective case when the extra power from the battery is not needed. On the other hand, it also makes it easy to swap and use multiple batteries for more power. Also, even though the current case will only fit on the iPhone 4 & 4S, future updates to the iPhone won’t render the battery obsolete because Third Rail will make future cases compatible with new iPhones.
