Nintendo Outs New Pink 3DS Bundles: It’s Raining Cats and Dogs

Nintendo is continuing to gear up for the big holiday season. As they hope to rack up some impressive sales too, they have a few new 3DS bundles to offer you. They are sure to sell great since they involve cute and cuddly virtual animals.

These 3DS bundles are about cuddly animals, what did you expect? On December 4th, the big N will release your choice of either nintendogs + cats: French Bulldog and New Friends or nintendogs + cats: Toy Poodle and New Friends. These both pack in a pink pearl 3DS console, by the way. These limited-edition bundles are priced at $169.99(USD) each.

Those who do not have real pets will want to mark their calendar. You don’t want to miss out on all of this cat and dog action.

Yarn Charging Cable: Encouraging Cats to Chew on Power Cords

No, this isn’t a new toy for your feline friend, it’s a concept charger for your phone and/or other devices. While it makes sense to have something that’s longer than standards cords, I wonder if cats everywhere will rejoice upon seeing this charger that’s designed to look like a ball of yarn.

The Wool Ball Charger will allow you to have massive amounts of charging cable length, to ensure that you’ll always be able to charge your phone from the right plug. Wait, I thought that the future was going to be wireless? Seriously though, charging cables are rarely long enough, and it happens quite a lot that you just need those extra few inches, but instead you stuck with short cables. That’s what the Wool Ball Charger will try to resolve.

The Wool Ball Charger was designed by Yuchen Liu and the cord is wrapped up in a ball instead of a loop, like most cords are. I get the feeling that it would be hard to keep this shape once it’s uncoiled for the first time.

Cat Gets 100 Stars, Game Gets All of Your Time

What if Super Mario Bros. had been a simple gray game with a cat instead of the overalled duo? It would probably look something like Cat Gets 100 Stars, which is kind of the point. But while Cat Gets 100 Stars is short on complexity at first glance, a few minutes spent poking around reveals there’s a lot more here than meets the eye.

The titular cat bounces (with an adorable sound effect) around collecting stars, but there are lots of secrets to discover, such as blocks that move and others that are invisible until smacked with a kitty head. Standard platforming fare, but freely available for the price of a few mouse clicks.

Cat Gets 100 Stars would have been worth checking out on the power of its name alone, but it’s nice to report there’s a lot more to it than that.
