Somehow, I managed to miss the fine print on the front of the God of War III box cover.

6,004% of the U.S. RDA of disembowelments, eh? Can you ever get enough, really? And I had no idea that it had negative 130 calories a serving. I’m gonna have me a bowl of delicious Kratos as part of my daily regimen, and in no time I’ll be skinnier than Nicole Ritchie sitting in a sauna after a good purge.

On Ebay: Nintendo Cereal System Sealed While Fresh!

…but it’s definitely not fresh anymore, because it was made in 1988. It really is sealed though, and contains two types of cereals – Super Mario and Zelda – which you would be wise to not eat. I’d rather skip breakfast than eat 22-year old cereal.

It won’t be up for auction much longer, so if you want to own a genuine artifact of American breakfast and video games (hell, it’s older than some of you are), go to eBay now and bid at least $73 (USD).

Mini Xbox Games in Cereal Boxes, Break Just Like the Real Thing

I was wandering the cereal aisle in my local grocery store looking for my morning sugar fix, when I stumbled this Xbox-themed promotion in boxes of cereal.

Six Xbox-branded mini-games are available in specially-marked boxes of Kellogg’s cereal (I always wanted to say that), including Apple Jacks, Cocoa Krispies, Corn Pops, Froot Loops, Honey Smacks and Frosted Flakes.

The 6 mini-games are described as follows:

Reactor – “Your mission: fight through defending alien ships and destroy the enemy power source! 4 levels of extra-terrestrial difficulty!”
Mutants – “Civilization is depending on you! Blast continuously evolving mutant enemies to survive six levels of ever-increasing peril!”
Football – “You’re the QB driving your team to the end zone! You control the receiver too as the defense gets tougher each quarter!”
Car Racing – “Accelerate! Brake! Steer! Zoom through heavy traffic as you race through 4 levels of heart pounding excitement!”
Earn Your Stripes Snowboarding - “Shred right and left and even jump! Watch out for the tree stumps! With unique ‘gravity’ feature and 4 levels of difficulty.” (this one is only in Frosted Flakes for some reason)
Ninja House - “Perform remarkable ninja leaps to climb the platforms and get treasure stars. Careful not to fall! 5 levels of danger.”

Despite the flowery descriptions, they’re all pretty basic old-school LCD games. After scrounging around my cereal, I found my prize. Mine was the ladybug-shaped Mutants game, which appears to play like a really basic Galaxian-type shooter.

I say “appears” because the cheap plastic build quality rendered the side-to-side movement on my game unusable, and resulted in instant death of my player.

The only thing missing from the experience was the red ring of doom, although there were plenty of fluorescent orange and green rings of apple-y doom.
