You would expect it to come in apple flavor, but sadly it only comes in mango and pear flavored options. I have to admit, it looks delicious, despite the fact that it has a sort of fried egg look to it.

So if you happen to be in China, try to find this frozen treat, give it a try and let us know how it tastes. I’d really like to know. It’s probably either really great or terrible.

I guess that in the future, everyone will control everything using their tablets. With that in mind, some enterprising manufacturers in China decided to make their latest superyacht controllable via an iPad. I bet this beats your Parrot AR.Drone any day.

The iPad can control the yacht from a distance of 164 feet. The Adastra superyacht is 140 feet long, weighs about 47 tons and can travel 4,000 nautical miles at 17 knots. Top speed is 22.5 knots. It was designed by John Shuttleworth and looks like a cross between a spaceship and a hovercraft. It took five years and cost $15 million to build. It was constructed in China by McConaghy Boats. The Adastra fits nine guests and six crew members.

The yacht was streamlined using glass and Kevlar foam and a superstructure made up of carbon fiber with a honeycomb core. It was made for Hong Kong shipping industry billionaire Anto Marden to shuttle between Indonesian islands that he owns.

Computers are pretty much useless without the keyboard. If you didn’t have anything to type stuff to input, then you can’t really expect any output, right? As homage to one of the most key pieces of the computer (pun intended), some people thought that it would be mighty clever to make Flip-Flops in their honor. The result are these Keyboard Sandals.

You can’t actually type on them, although they can function as a rubbery massager to sooth and relax your tired feet.

They were originally designed by a Thailand-based rubber shoes company called Kito, and they were selling for about $30 a pair. Now a cheap knock-off of the design has wormed its way into China, where they’re currently being sold for cheap at 7.8 yuan (USD$1.23) a pair on Taobao. Of course you do have to figure out how to read Chinese to buy them.

If you love what James Cameron just accomplished with his own deep-sea submersible, then you can have your own underwater adventures in these Chinese mini-submarines, which were the brainchild of a laid-off factory worker in Wuhan.

These tiny submarines cost about 200,000 yuan (~$31,621 USD) and can seat two people. The first prototype looks somewhat crude, but his latest versions look a bit steampunk. That might not inspire confidence in their sea-worthiness but they are cool nonetheless. While they probably won’t be able to explore the depths of the Mariana Trench, they will allow you to go underwater and conduct DIY explorations.

Each mini-sub can hold two passengers, and can dive up to 30 meters below the surface. They also have oxygen reserves and an underwater video camera built in.

The new enterprise can build about one mini-sub per month, which isn’t much, but as soon as orders start piling in, I’m sure that they’ll refine the model even further and production will undoubtedly increase.

Before anything else, let me just say that I have nothing against China. In fact, I’m Chinese myself, although I wasn’t born or raised there. That said, I’m sometimes just simply blown away by how people do business in China. Where else would you find a company that offers a fake “Sent from my iPhone” signature tag to their subscribers?

Did I even have to ask? I think I’ve made it clear that you can only get that kind of service from China. Specifically, from merchants on Taobao.

The reason why is pretty obvious. For some people, having an iPhone kind of ups your status a few notches, and fake iPhones are rampant in China. Although faking it kind of doesn’t make sense, because you yourself know that the whole thing is a sham.

Anyway, these merchants are offering an instant messaging tool that will add the tag “Sent from my iPhone” after your messages – for just a dollar a month. But you know what I think? Why don’t you just set up your email to use the “Sent from my iPhone” signature instead? It’s still fake but it’s free.

When you buy an iPhone stove, you want to make sure that it is the real deal. You don’t want to buy a knock-off. You want the real thing so it can run apps while you bake and… Wait a minute. iPhone stoves?

Well, Chinese consumers might not be hip to the fact that these iPhone stoves are not official products, so police have seized 681 of these ovens. These stoves, produced by “Apple China Limited”, are as fake as a $3 bill, despite having a green Apple logo and a compliance certification label. I hope the Chinese learn something from this. Namely that Apple would never sell such an ugly device – nor one that doesn’t require you to purchase all it’s apps through them.

Funny thing is that it sounds like they got taken off the streets because of their lack of flame-out prevention, and the obvious Apple trademark infringement was secondary. Some knock-off manufacturer just lost a lot of money. I hope this doesn’t give Apple any ideas. I don’t need a stove with Siri telling me how to cook.

You’ve got to hand it to the cheap Chinese gadget makers. Not only are they amazingly ballsy to release products which clearly bear the branding of products they haven’t licensed, but in this case, they’ve produced something that doesn’t even bear a slight resemblance to the product in question. While these cell phones purport to be Ferrari branded, the cars they portray look more like the vehicles of my nightmares than my dream cars.

I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I think these ugly, bulbous vehicles look more like something Woody Allen would have driven in Sleeper than something you’d see rounding the track at Nürburgring. That said, you’d hope that at least they’d do the cell phone thing well.

I’m not holding my breath on that one either. These things sport an anemic 2-inch LCD screen, and a camera which offers “200 lacpixel; support to shoot MP4 with sound, the time depends on storage, with front camera, flash, telescopic cameras” I didn’t know what a lacpixel was before today, but I’m going to assume they meant it was lacking 200 pixels, because this calculation clearly doesn’t apply. It also supposedly has a QWERTY keyboard, but I think they meant they were typing the product listing with one, as there’s clearly none in sight. At least this thing makes phone calls, right?

If you absolutely must have one of these for the sheer novelty of the thing, you can get one over at AliExpress for about $76(USD).

Celebrating the Chinese New Year is a big deal in China. They go all out like it’s Christmas and New Years rolled into one, and millions of Chinese citizens tune-in to watch the Big-Show on TV. This year is the Year of the Dragon, so the show really poured it on with a fully robotic dance troupe.

It was a stunning performance. Fourteen robots danced to a re-mix of the Korobushka, a traditional Russian song. You might recognize it from the game Tetris. The highlight of the show was said to be how the robot army entered. The screen behind the stage showed a bunch of ‘bots walking in formation and with each step they took towards the audience a new level of risers popped up with a different part of the robotic troupe.

Robots dancing is always a good way to celebrate anything. Preferably with explosions and flashing lights. What’s truly amazing about this show is the synchronicity that they achieved with these robots all doing crazy moves.

So, you want to know about 3G, do ya kids? Don’t ask your dad or go to some tech website. Ask a robot. China Unicom’s “Waiter” robot, who appeared at the 2011 China Int’l Information and Communication Exhibition late September through early October will educate you.
The robot can be controlled using an iPad (of course.) He’s basically an info guy and pitch man, promoting 3G applications, like mobile internet, cloud computing, mobile intelligent terminals, and home networks.

Waiter has movable arms, on-board cameras and a laser range finder to detect and interact with those human beings who are ignorant of 3G. It can also recognize commands like “hello” and “dance”. No word on how effective it was at educating the public on 3G. I’m guessing not very.

And just like the iPhone, there’s no word on when it will actually get around to supporting 4G LTE.

Nintendo’s lawyers just got more work thrown their way. Mole Kart is a Mario Kart knock-off for iPhone that you will probably never see via the App Store. It doesn’t look half bad for a rip-off, but then again all you really have to do is throw in some mushrooms, make it all colorful and shoot items from your Kart.

It looks like they stole the level designs nearly completely. It looks like the same old game with visually horrible karts and characters. This fake Mario wannabee comes from Chinese developer Taomee.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Mbbhc9bHsHQ

You can probably find it for free eventually if you really want to try it, over file-sharing networks. And since the real Mario is not available for iPhone, who could blame you.

The fastest train that I’ve been in is Taiwan’s High Speed Rail and it went about 190 mph. That’s pretty fast for a land-based vehicle if you ask me. You can basically get from one end of the island to the other in about 90 minutes. Now, China is testing a 310-mph super-train. I guess since China is so big, they need a way to get across vast distances quickly.

This is a high-speed rail train, so it’s not a MagLev train. This is good because this train will probably be operational soon, since it doesn’t require the costly and time-consuming buildout of MagLev tracks. Based on CSR’s CRH 380A, this train has been streamlined, uses lighter materials, and uses a lot more power in order to get over 300 mph. The standard CRH380 has a maximum drawing power of 9600 kilowatts, while this souped-up version can draw as much as 22,800 kilowatts.

There are several other competing high-speed trains being built, but since this train is basically a refinement of an existing platform, it might be produced a lot faster.

Geeks who also happen to be fans of Mickey Mouse might enjoy telling time with this modern watch, which uses the head and ears of the famous cartoon mouse to display the time.

While I’m 1000% certain that this thing isn’t official Disney merchandise, it definitely captures the iconic mouse-head and conveys a strong sense of Disneyana on your wrist. It tells time using 33 LEDs arranged into three rings. Not-Mickey’s head shows the current hour, while left ear displays single minutes, the right ear displays tens of minutes. It also displays the date with a press of the button.

While the build quality definitely looks suspect, and Disney’s lawyers might come knocking on your door if you wear one, it’s actually not a bad looking watch.

The best part of course is because it’s a cheap, unlicensed Chinese gadget is that it sells for just $7.35 (USD) over at VKAmobi, so if it sucks, you won’t feel like you flushed too much money down the drain.

Here is the latest human-built robot, which like those before it, will await its chance to join Skynet and enslave us all. This particular ‘bot is called BHR-3, a humanoid robot from the Beijing Institute of Technology’s Institute of Intelligent Robotics.
There isn’t much to set this version apart from its predecessors, but he stands about 170cm tall and weighs less than 60kg. This bulky looking bot can also be cable-free. The best thing about him is that he can perform Tai chi exercises. If you are looking for a partner, BHR-3 will share your workout.

Of course it can also walk forward, backward, and side to side. BHR-3 was built as a kind of high-tech promotional model for museums, tech shows, and other places where you would want to show off a Tai chi robot.

Sony’s PS Vita hasn’t even had its official worldwide launch yet, and a clone has already been developed and launched in China. Begun, these clone wars have. The first PS Vita knock-off is called the Yinlips YDPG18. That rolls right off the tongue, no?

The Yinlips YDPG18 [JP] is powered by Android 2.2 and features a 5 inch touchscreen display with an 800 x 480 pixel resolution, a motion sensor, two cameras and 1080p video playback support. It also has a 1.2GHz processor, along with 512MB of RAM. It’s also got Wi-Fi, HDMI and USB built in. Unlike the real PS Vita, it only has a single analog stick, and no rear touch sensors.

As you might expect, you can’t go to your local game shop and buy PS Vita or PSP games for it, so it comes with some emulators, like NES, Gameboy, SNES, Gameboy Advance, N64 and PlayStation One, as well as Flash 10 games. And since it runs Android, you can play those games too. Style-wise it doesn’t look horrible, but I’m sure it plays like garbage compared to the real thing – though it honestly doesn’t look too shabby as an emulator from the videos below:

If you want to play with one, you can grab one from EtronixMart for just $119.99 (USD). Better do it before Sony’s lawyers shut them down.

You’ve gotta hand it to schlock gadget merchants of China for their ability to completely laugh in the face of all intellectual property laws. Take, for example, this craptacular version of Angry Birds which you can now buy.

The Angry Birds PSP Game Console not only craps all over Rovio’s trademarked birds and pigs, but also wants to get Sony’s lawyers into the mix as well, aping the style of their PSP handheld, and even using “PSP” on their packaging.

Ffrom everything I can tell, this thing is like one of those old LCD Nintendo Game & Watch games from the 1970s and 1980s, but I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that this one sucks.

Now I suppose that with a price of just about $7 (USD), you can’t expect much, but when you think about the fact that Angry Birds can be downloaded for free to 99 cents, and is available on just about every platform out there, it’s a bit of a stretch to figure out why you’d ever buy one of these things. I suppose if you’re one of the three people left in the civilized world without a smartphone or a web browser, you can pick one of these up over at Focalprice for $7.44(USD).

It must really suck to be the person in charge of securing trademarks for Apple right now. Apparently, Apple thought that it had the trademark for the iPad name in China. Or at least it thought its team of legal ninjas could beat down the Chinese opposition that owned the trademark. In either case, Apple was wrong.

A company in China has had the iPad trademark since 2000. The company is called Proview Technologies and it actually sold the rights to iPad to another firm for the UK and other countries. That company then sold it to Apple. The problem was that apparently Chinese rights weren’t part of the original sale.

That means that Apple has been peddling the iPad in violation of the trademark in China for a while now. China is booming and important to most tech firms so Apple can’t just walk away. Proview is apparently looking for (imagine Dr. Evil as you read this next part) a billion dollars. Will Apple have to change its tablet’s name in China or pay up big time? That remains to be seen.

So I’m really not sure why you’d ever want to buy an iPhone case that looks like a flip-flop sandal, but that didn’t stop somebody in China from making them anyhow. It’s not like you’d ever want to wear your iPhone on your feet, would you?

These ridiculous cases look to me like the world’s most uncomfortable flip-flops, complete with that stupid strap that gets stuck between your toes. I hate that feeling. Of course, at the size of an iPhone 4, you’d have to have really small feet to fit them into these anyhow. And then you’d need to buy a second iPhone too. Oh yeah, then there’s the part where you step down and are now walking on two non-functional planks of broken glass under your feet. That said, you won’t actually wear the flip-flop case on your feet. Though I can’t imagine that toe strap would be comfortable in your pocket either.

If you’re a true beach bum (with an iPhone 4), then you can order up one of these flip-flop cases from Trait-Tech for just $1.99 (USD) each. They ship direct from China, so I imagine you’ll spend more on shipping than on the case itself.

Playing table tennis is not something that should be easy for robots to do, so I was actually surprised that these ping-pong playing bots were unveiled in China. These smart ‘bots will play till 21, and hopefully, at least for now, won’t beat any human players.

These robots are able to track the movement of the tiny table tennis ball and return it with a satisfying wack, thanks to a motion-control system that comes equipped with a built-in camera and a processing unit. These ‘bots were unveiled by a lab at the Zhejiang University in China. The robots each are 5’3″ high and weigh 121 pounds. It took the lab 4 years to develop them.

Pretty soon, you’ll be able to play real tennis on a court with a robot as a partner. While you might think that might be a bit more complicated to pull off, a Vietnamese toy company already took a shot at that idea a few years back and recently revealed this intimidating upgrade…

For his day job, Alan Yang sells hand-painted bone China wares, but this robot is anything but that. He’s also one of those Chinese guys who likes to make awesome steel Transformers, and is part of the crew that made some of those gigantic IRL metallic bots. This Ravage Transformer is one of his own though and I have to say that I quite like it.

If you don’t know much about Ravage, he’s one of the Decepticon Soundwave’s cassette robots that he used to eject to perform nefarious duties. He’s been redesigned over the years, and this is the result. He looks quite freaky.

The photos date from 2007, so but I haven’t seen these before. They were uploaded last week to Yang’s Flickr account. Needless to say that if Ravage was real, it would crunch up a number of cars before being brought down. Ironically, he looks like he was made from some of those crunched up cars himself.
