Awful LED Dog Lamp

On paper, the idea of a little desktop doggie lamp might be cute, but somewhere along the line it just all went so horribly awry. There’s just absolutely nothing that’s right about this rechargeable LED dog lamp. From its demonic red eyeballs to its disturbing nostril hole charger, it’s just a big bowl of wrong…

filed under: media players

DigitalRise iPod Nano Clone

I’ll start out by saying this. Steve Jobs and company will no longer like you if you buy one of these. But for those of you who are too stingy to drop $149 to $199 on a real iPod Nano, here’s a cheap Chinese knock-off that’s a dead ringer for Apple’s chunky little 3rd-generation media player…

Seeing Double Wall Clock from ChilliChilly

The numbers on this unique wall clock from Hong Kong’s ChilliChilly may look confusing when the hands aren’t over them, but as each hand reaches a number, colored discs reveal the proper time.

what the iphone could have looked like

Crystal iPod + iPhone Knock Off

Leave it to the cheap Chinese knock-off makers to produce this red headed stepchild of an iPod and a mobile phone. While it sort of looks like an iPod Classic, it slides open to reveal a phone. The phone bears more than a passing resemblance to some early iPhone concept images that were floating around the Web a while back.

Under the hood, the Crystal HT360 mobile phone is pretty typical…

MP5 Player

I was checking out the bargain basement tech over on DealExtreme this morning, and came across this oddity. According to the manufacturer, what we’ve got here is an MP5, yes M-P-FIVE player.

As far as I know, there is no official MP5 file format…

rocket phone blasts off

Shenzen VII Rocket Phone

Here’s a wacky mobile phone out of China that looks like it’s ready to lift off into orbit.

The Shenzhou VII rocket phone conjures up images of 1950s science fiction with its orange spaceship design. While it is definitely different, the shape isn’t particularly practical…
