You should be aware by now that your smartphone has probably accumulated the growth of a ton of bacteria over the course of you using it excessively each and every day. I don’t even want to begin imagining all the microbes and bacteria that’s breeding in between each key on the keypad or around the grooves of its buttons…

Good thing there’s someone out there who wants to come up with a way to “wash” our phones (without getting them wet, of course) with the PhoneSoap.

PhoneSoap is a charger and sanitizer packaged in one neat, little box. It uses to UV-C light to kill any bacteria and viruses that might be living on your phone. The UV-C light is 99.9% effective at killing bacteria and viruses, and since it doesn’t generate any heat, it doesn’t put your phone at risk during its sanitizing cycle. At the same time, it can charge up your device, since the box allows access to both a micro USB cord and Apple’s 30-pin USB cord.

PhoneSoap is currently up for funding on Kickstarter, where a minimum pledge of $39(USD) will get you your very own PhoneSoap.

And if you’re the type who sometimes eats dinner while you’re streaming some videos or surfing the Internet, then you know for a fact that your keyboard is filthy. Now for regular, healthy people like you and me, that might be okay. But if this keyboard is in a more sensitive environment, say a hospital or in some other medical setting, then it’s a huge no-no.

To answer the need for a truly clean and self-sanitizing keyboard is the Vioguard, which has now been approved by the FDA. The Vioguard has a proximity sensor that will eject the keyboard when there’s a human who will presumably type something close by. When it’s not in use, the keyboard will then be housed in a UV resistant receptacle where the keyboard will be exposed to a constant stream of UV light.

The Vioguard uses 80W when it’s sanitizing the keyboard actively, and 3W when it’s on standby. No word on pricing yet, but I have to say… Now this is neat.

Pictured above are tiny little 1″ green invaders from CrazyKBathandBody.  And if classic green isn’t your bag, you can grab them in bright and fragrant colors like galactic grape, orbit orange, cosmic cherry and blast-off blueberry.

Still, none of the over 450 available fragrances smell anything like a green space alien. If you’re looking for something a little more politically correct, you might want to check out these vegan invaders from DirtyAssSoaps (I would imagine after you use these, you should have a CleanAss, no?)

Makers of amazing video game controller soaps, Digitalsoaps has even jumped on the Invaders soap bandwagon with these colorful jeweltone aliens.

Last but not least are BunnyBubble’s invaders, who come entombed inside of a clear soap bar, and feature a delightful grapefruit scent. I wonder if the invaders inside the bar survive as the clear part melts away, or if they die a slimy mushy death as you work your way through the soap.

Of course, with thousands of new listings each day over on Etsy, you should probably just run a search, and you’ll turn up new Space Invaders on your soap mission. Next up, Tetris.

Cyber Clean is a gooey compound that you mush onto the surface of your keyboard to pick up all the dust, dirt, grime and other schmutz that’s fallen between your keys.

The compound in Cyber Clean absorbs dirt particles and binds them so they can’t get back out. The color of the slime gradually changes from yellow to greenish-blue as it gets dirtier, but can be reused multiple times before you need to change it for a new blob.

So what are you waiting for? You can get your sticky little fingers on a pack of Cyber Clean compound over at the Cyber Clean store and other fine retailers around the globe.

The Antibac2k Magic Ball kills unpleasant odors, as well as removes allergens and contaminants from the air around you. The spherical gadget filters, humidifies, and disinfects stale air, and can even add a pleasant fragrance to fill your nostrils with glee. It does this all while putting on a relaxing light show with a ring of 30 green, blue and white LEDs.

Just pour a tiny drop of Antibac2k’s special purifying solution into water, fill it up, and it does the rest. Your nasty, stank air will be pulled in, scrubbed, cleaned and spewed back out smelling like a rose (or one of numerous other scents.) The makers of the device claim it can effectively remove dust, smoke, odors, bacteria, fungi and viruses from your airspace. A single Magic Ball can clean the air in rooms up to about 350-square feet.

So if you need to clean up your act, you can pick one up online from b-eshop for HKD 1,680 (about $216 USD.) The manufacturer claims to distribute these all over the globe, but I couldn’t find any for sale outside of Asia.

The $59 Westinghouse SweepEZE is an automated dust bin. Just place it against a wall or in a corner, then sweep whatever junk you have on your (uncarpeted) floor in front of it, and it’ll suck it in and dispose of it automatically.

An infrared beam activates a vacuum that takes care of all the dirty work. And it’s able to pull in all sorts of things, ranging from pet hair to broken glass, thanks to its strong 600-watt suction engine. Bye, bye Swiffers!
