You can actually get a custom-painted iPad 2 with 3G for about $500 less. I guess Colorware is hoping that the hoards of people wanting to get the iPhone 4S as soon as it launches will pony up the extra dough for this. I think I’d let my daughter break out the Sharpies before I would spend this sort of money with Colorware.

Other than getting to choose your own colors for the frame, back, button, SIM card tray, and earbuds, this is the same old iPhone 4S anyone can get. It has the same hardware inside as all others. Colorware doesn’t say how much storage the phone has, but at that price, I hope it’s the 64GB model – but I’m not betting on it.

On the plus side, if you already have an iPhone 4S in hand, they’ll paint your current phone for just $265, which is still expensive, but not unheard of.

For just $400 (USD), the gadget-pimping company will customize the color of your camera’s seven major parts – front, back, top, lens body, lens face, hot shoe insert and port door – as well as that of the lens cap. As with other ColorWare services, you can choose from a variety of colors and a glossy or soft finish.

If you’re still planning to buy a D-Lux 5, have a look at it’s vanilla form now. Looooooook. Don’t like it as it is? Then get a brand new and custom colorized D-Lux 5 from ColorWare for $1,200. That’s not too bad if you think the customization is worth the price, since the camera itself costs around $800 nowadays. Then again, $1,200 can get you a significantly more powerful camera.

I wanted to make an Iron Man-themed Segway, but unfortunately crimson and gold were not among the colors being offered. If the color that you want is not in the options, you can still ask ColorWare to use it, as long as you know what it’s Pantone PMS number is, and you’re willing to pay an additional $250 (USD) for each custom color. Since this service is for one model only, Segway i2 owners can send in their unit for customization for $1,500. You can also buy and customize a brand new Segway i2 from ColorWare for $7,500. Check out ColorWare’s website for more info. I’m amazed that people would be willing to pay that much for this thing. Next thing you know ColorWare’s selling customized (and overpriced) Toyota Priuses.

It’s not purple enough, I know. It’s not even purple. You can create your own color scheme at Colorware’s website. If you don’t have an iPad yet, you can buy a custom colored one straight from Colorware; the gadget plus the custom colors costs at least $900 (USD). But if you already have an iPad, you can send it to them to be colored, in which case it will “only” cost at least $400. The final price will vary depending on the colors chosen.

Thanks to the guys over at ColorWare, you can now get your new PS3 Slim dipped in a variety of delightful paint colors. You can mix-and-match a variety of colors for the lid, base, logo and your controllers, including glossy primaries, pastels, and even metallics. And as is always the case with ColorWare, their colors are coated with a double layer of scratch-resistant coating to keep the paint good as new.

Prices start at $149 if you send in your PS3 Slim to ColorWare, or $449 if you want them to just sell you a brand new console, customized to your liking. (There’s a small upcharge for the pearlescent colors, FYI). They’ll even paint one of your Dual Shock controllers as part of the deal, but you’re looking at $30 bucks each for additional controller paint job.

Head on over to ColorWare now to custom configure yours. Be sure to hit that “Brainstorm” button to see what sort of crazy color schemes the machine randomly selects for you. There’s nothing quite like a chocolate brown and lime green gaming console.

That must be the color of a Sith Lord’s soul. Mmmmm want. Then again, it’s $6,000. So what else will you get for that kind of cash? Colorware’s so-called “Stealth” is a 15″ Macbook Pro with a matte widescreen display (yet another feature that wasn’t broke),  3.06 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 8 GB DDR3 SDRAM, and a 256 GB SSD.

Now I know what you’re thinking, ’cause I’m psychic like that, and the answer is: $4,249. That’s how much it would cost if you bought an equally pimped-out 15″ MBP at an Apple Store. You could even spend a lot less than that if you buy the additional 4 GB RAM and the SSD from a third-party vendor.

Then again, this laptop is BLACK, and as I said, there are only 10 of these available. Nah, who am I kidding. IT AIN’T WORTH THE EXTRA $1,750 PEOPLE!

But if you have the money to burn, I think you should go buy it at Colorware ASAP. I’m sure there are more than 10 idiots people out there willing to pony up the money for this gimmick.

Starting at $149, they’ll take your iPhone and and coat it with a durable automotive-grade color finish. They’re also offering brand new pre-colored iPhones for $649 (4Gb) and $749 (8GB) if you don’t have one yet. The whole process takes about 10 days to complete.

The candy-like coatings are available in 29 color combinations ranging from pastel to bold to downright garish. For a small additional fee, you can choose custom colors for all the different parts of the iPhone (other than the screen!,) as well as your earbuds and dock.
