I can’t think of any better way to connect my mix tape USB flash drive to my computer than to plug it into this retro cassette tape USB hub.

The 4-port USB 2.0 hub may look exactly like an old school cassette tape, but I can pretty much assure you that you’ll wreck your tape player if you attempt to pop this thing in and listen to it. I can only imagine the horrific screeching sound that would come out of my speakers when I press play. Of course, assuming that you actually follow the instructions and use it as a proper USB hub, it should be much more benign.

It’ll look really great sandwiched between your old Steve Miller Band, Boston and Foreigner tapes that I’m sure you still have lying next to your Walkman. You can get your hands on the USB cassette tape USB hub at UK gadget shop I Want One of Those for £12.99 (appx. $24 USD).

SanDisk’s latest entry into the mobile media player market does one thing that makes it stand out from the pack… it can download tracks directly via a Wi-Fi network. The Sansa Connect will let you access popular online music services without using a PC, letting you download and stream content over a wireless connection.

The Sansa Connect player lets you listen to internet radio stations wirelessly as well as to listen to music subscription services on the go. SanDisk hasn’t been forthcoming with details about what music services they’ll support, but if I had to guess, I’d say they’ll end up supporting PlaysForSure subscription-based services such as URGE, Napster and MusicNow among others. Taking a page from Microsoft’s Zune, the player also offers social networking capabilities that let you see what other friends are listening to, and listen to the same tracks as long as you have a valid subscription for the same music.

The initial model features a nice 2.2″ color display, 4GB of flash memory and a MicroSD slot if that’s not enough memory for you. Priced at $249.99, it should hit stores this March.
