I’ve seen some pretty impressive geek costumes over the years, but this one might just take the cake. This precision-engineered Tauntaun costume has to be way up there at the top of the list.
Created by Scott Holden for the recent Zone Ball in Sacramento, this Tauntaun not only looks great, it actually walks. Scott…

Okay so Activelink’s Power Loader is not really a weapon, it’s a tool for heavy lifting. But so was the loader in the Aliens movie from which the exoskeleton takes its name. That didn’t stop Ripley from pwning the alien queen with it.
The Power Loader is made of 500 lbs of aluminum alloy. It’s equipped…

DARPA’s Self-Explanation Learning Framework (SELF) program “seeks to construct systems that can participate in their own construction.” Imagine a robot helping build itself. Who or what runs DARPA these days? Are there still humans in there? Things are moving too fast folks. Let’s look at the matchup for a sec: Human fetus – looks cute/scary/funny,…

If you loved the last giant Tetris piece posted here, then this may just be your kind of shirt. Why build regular, boring buildings when instead you can turn construction into the world’s biggest game?
Though I’m still waiting for a flash game based on this crane-heavy concept (and no, the bright colors in Sim City don’t…

This is just begging for someone to make a flash game…

Here’s a unique mod: a bulldozer! This one’s got it all, and by “all,” I mean colorful lights and moving parts. You can paint a case all day long and glue on all the setpieces you’d like, but movable parts beat all.
The post title above is misleading, however; Russian modder Megalex’s custom bulldozer mod…

This has got to be one of the best video game promotional items that I’ve ever come across. It’s so simple, yet brilliant. It’s an actual custom-cast brick that was used to promote the classic MAXIS/EA city-building game SimCity 2000.
The rare item is currently available for bid over on eBay, but is located in…

This week, a handful of us bloggers had the opportunity to hang out at EA’s sprawling headquarters in Redwood Shores, CA to meet with the team that created the new MySims game for the Nintendo Wii. The game is a total reinvention of the Sims franchise, extracting a little bit of the essence of the…
