Geared towards schools and businesses, Nexcopy’s modular 60-port USB duplicator is a Windows-based device that allows for quick and easy data distribution. It’s perfect for making a ton of copies of Linux distros, or perhaps copying student submissions in one go.

The duplicator can be used as a single 60-port device or as three separate 20-port devices. The duplicator only works with Windows; for some reason its product page says that it requires Windows XP SP2. Additional minimum system requirements are: Dual Core 2.0 GHz processor, 2 GB RAM, 3 USB ports (for a 20 to 1 port ratio – not bad!) and Microsoft .NET.

I’m not sure if you can use it as a USB hub, as support for USB devices is not mentioned. Although I’m pretty sure none of you own 60 USB devices.

mishare: copy music between two ipods

Looking for an easy way to copy songs and movies from one iPod to another? Then look no further. This compact device connects two iPods and lets you easily transfer tracks without any computer required.

The $99 miShare snaps between two iPods and will copy tracks with the press of a button. A single button press copies the last song or video played or a pre-selected photo folder. A longer press duplicates any files you’ve got stored in your current On-The-Go playlist, so you can easily copy multiple files.

The device is perfect for moving non-DRMed tracks between the players, but can also copy iTunes DRM tracks with the caveat that you’ll need to authorize the device using iTunes once they’re copied.

Unfortunately, the miShare doesn’t currently work with the iPhone or iPod Touch, but should work fine with all other iPods with the standard 30-pin dock connector (Mini, Nano, 3G, 4G, Video (5G), and Classic (6G) models).

digital recycle bin saves deleted files

Currently just a conceptual design, the TEMPO is an external storage device that’s designed to prevent you from losing files you accidentally delete. The clever thing about it is that it actually looks like a little recycling bin (although it might be mistaken for a cup of really black coffee).

Created by industrial designer Franco Cagnina for Intech, the TEMPO connects via Bluetooth to your Mac or PC and automatically stores backup copies of files as you delete them. As you fill the drive, a series colored LEDs on the side of the device indicates how full the “bin” is.

This is one of those great examples of utility and intuitive interface design coming together. I really hope that Intech does end up producing these.
