Most people sit back on their couches to relax and unwind. Some plop onto their couches and watch television or play video games for hours on end, while others enjoy curling up with a good book or magazine to read for the night. And some others build engines into their couches to try breaking the record for the World’s Fastest Couch.

The couch you see pictured above has been fitted with an internal combustion engine to propel the normally stationary piece of furniture to speeds of 101 miles/hour. I think that’s even faster than the speed most people drive their cars at (specifically, me.)

The front of the couch has been fitted with a sawed down coffee table of some sort, for aerodynamics, I suppose. Check out the video below to see just how fast a couch can be made to go:

Click to View Embedded Video Clip

And just in case you’re wondering–yes, the couch you see above broke the previous record and now holds the title as the World’s Fastest Couch. Way to go!

Thinking of Getting the n•a•p Massaging Bed Rest? Maybe Just Get a New Couch Instead

Add-ons are so popular nowadays. You can just buy something to attach to your chair or table or couch or computer instead of having to buy a new piece of furniture or electronic device to enjoy the same benefits.

One major advantage to such devices is that they’re often more handy and way more convenient to install and use rather than the conventional item that already has it built in instead.

However, that’s one advantage that the n•a•p Massaging Bed Rest doesn’t really have. It’s sort of a contraption that’s meant to be placed on top of your bed so you can recline and do whatever it is that you do normally on a couch or La-Z Boy there instead. Aside from a built-in massager, the n•a•p Massaging Bed Rest comes equipped with an LED light for easy reading, huge side pockets to fit random stuff, and a cup holder.

It retails for $99.95(USD) and is a bit too bulky for my taste. Or maybe that’s because I’m a (literal) couch potato at heart. But if it’s something you’re thinking of getting, you can check out Brookstone for more info.

LunaBlocks are giant Lego-like blocks that you can use to make furniture!

LunaBlocks were designed by Thierry Nahon & Philippe Landecker, who say they are all about “the transformation and enlargement of bricks used in building games for children.” Which means that no actual Legos were harmed, or even referenced, in the making of these blocks.

I’ll freely admit that when I saw these, I was SO EXCITED because they are amazingly cool and I want them so very badly. I mean after all those years building homes, airports, spaceships, and fire stations for those ungrateful little minifig bastards, finally, FINALLY all of my well-honed bricklaying skills could actually be worth something tangible in the human world!

They come in different materials like glass (pretty!), polypropolene (smooshy!), metal (cold and heavy!), and rubber (squeaky!) You can buy them from Homology, a French website. Each block will set you back between €13 and €35, (US$20 – $60, more or less) depending on how many pegs you like on your blocks. I can’t decide which color to order so if you have any suggestions, feel free to shout ‘em out…

Apparently a computer shop had about twenty old Mac IIs and IIfx computers lying around gathering cobwebs and decided to build a sofa out of the technological dinosaurs.

Since each Mac II was originally designed to hold a heavy 20-inch CRT on top, the couch has no problem supporting the rear ends of numerous couch potatoes. Regardless, my ass hurts just looking at the thing.
