Iron Man is hard and tough. He is wearing armor after all. Now check out the softer side of the man. This adorable pillow from Red Hair Gold Boots is super soft and comfy no doubt, even super cute, but just like Iron Man’s armor, there is more to it.

Like the fact that the helmet lifts up. Underneath, you will find Tony Stark’s face complete with soul-patch. It’s very well done and just plain adorable. She created this Iron Man version after she made a cute Loki pillow, and now I guess she intends to make all of the Avengers in pillow form.

Since the helmet flips up you can rest your head on either Iron Man or Tony Stark. It all depends who you want to cuddle with I guess.

The AT-AT Imperial Walker is one of the most iconic machines in the history of motion pictures, so whenever I spy some object made in the form of the classic robot camel from The Empire Strikes Back, it piques my curiosity. I’m especially happy to have stumbled onto this AT-AT interpretation, done up using carefully bent wire.

Artist Jakobi created this AT-AT sculpture by meticulously bending lengths of galvanized steel and stainless steel wire. He says it’s one of the more complex wire sculptures he’s ever created, and it definitely looks like it was challenging to get the shapes just right.

The sculpture measures about 12″ long by 10″ tall by 4.5″ wide, and would look great in an Star Wars collection. You can find it over on Etsy for $120 (USD). He’s also got a little AT-ST sculpture available for $70 if you prefer your walkers with two legs.

While you’re there, be sure to check out Jakobi’s other cool wire sculptures and paintings, and if you’re looking for other AT-AT stuff, be sure to check out the Imperial Walker cake and the AT-AT PC Casemod.

Remember the classic Nintendo boxing game Punch-Out!? I still think it’s one of the most entertaining fighters of all time, especially with its over-the-top combatants. Well if you remember Punch-Out! as fondly as I do, then you’ll enjoy these collages by artist Chris Lange.

The latest in a series of gaming inspired works by Lange, he’s perfectly captured such classic characters as Glass Joe, Don Flamenco, Bald Bull, Piston Honda, Great Tiger, Macho Man, King Hippo, Soda Popinski, Mac and Trainer with these collages.

Each one is made entirely from old issues of Nintendo Power magazine, so you’re assured each one is 100% recycled Nintendo.

While the originals aren’t for sale, you can get your hands on a set of nine (5″x5″) prints over on Etsy for $49 (USD). If you’re a Nintendo fan, you’ll want to order up a set for your gameroom for sure.

This Star Trek Quiet Book is a great way to introduce your small kids to the world of Trek and create your own mini geek. Before you know it, they will be watching all of the classic episodes.

It is the work of etsy seller Juliebell, who also sells a Star Wars Quiet Book, as well as Star Trek and Star Wars finger puppets that sort of resemble South Park characters. It’s enough to make any child a fan of classic Sci-Fi.

These cute and creative books are full of fun activities like helping Geordie get his visor on, and piloting the Shuttlecraft back to its dock. For now, Juliebell is only selling printable patterns for the quiet books, but the puppets are are available as a complete set.

So head on over to Etsy and buy some of these for your little Starfleet cadet (or Padawan.) He/she will thank you for it later.

You jeered when he captured Han Solo and loaded him aboard Slave I. You cheered when he fell to his “death” into the Sarlacc pit (even though it was a lame way to die, and it turns out Fett survived after all.) Now be thrilled as Boba Fett keeps your cup of coffee warm. Now this bounty hunter works for you.

This coffee cozy was made by Etsy seller littlepopos. It’s really adorable and is just $22(USD) but it isn’t the only cool cozy that she has for sale. How about a companion cube cozy from Portal 2? Maybe a Sentry Turret beanie hat?

If your taste runs more toward Pokémon, then check out this Pikachu coffee cozy. There are just too many cool items to buy from her shop. Stuff to keep you or your coffee warm; stuff to keep your head warm. Boba fett is probably my favorite. What do you guys think?

I’m not a prom-going or fancy event type of guy, but if I were I would definitely wear one of these Star Wars boutonnières for the occasion. Instructables user kristylynn84 made these for her husband for their wedding since he is a huge Star Wars fan.

They’re a cheap way to geek up any occasion and they are easy to make. You just need some boutonnière pins, some Star Wars plastic rings from a cake shop, real of fake flowers and of course a hot glue gun. Nothing says fun like wearing a stormtrooper head with a flower sticking out of it. In addition to the stormtroopers, Kristy Lynn also made some Darth Vader ones, and when the bridal party entered the reception, the Imperial March was playing.

If you make these, everyone else at your event will be super jealous and wish that they had thought to do it themselves. If you want to try it, hit the link below for the full details.

Remember when the 9th Doctor really enjoyed a good banana? Now we know why. He must have been a monkey in one regeneration, with a matching TARDIS. Oh wait, he must have been a monkey who merged with the TARDIS at some point. Maybe I missed an episode.
The TARDIS sock monkey was made by kwiltykate on Craftster. Obviously she was just monkeying around when she created it. I imagine that the Time Lords have simply de-volved and are now called Time Simians. They preside over time and space in much the same way that apes came to rule the Earth in Planet of the Apes.

Hey, why wasn’t there a Doctor Who movie featuring Charlton Heston? “Take your stinking paws off my TARDIS, you damned dirty ape!”

I know it seems like an odd question, but I wonder how Darth Vader kept himself clean inside of that suit. I can only imagine he got really sweaty in there, and it’s not like it would have been easy for him to get out of it to take a bath. While we may neve know how Vader scrubbed himself clean, at least you can take a bath with the help of the Dark Lord.

This gigantic Darth Vader soap weighs a full 1 kilogram (~2.2 pounds), and is sure to last you a very long time in the bath. At that size, it’s about 10 times the weight of an ordinary bar of soap, so you’ll probably need to slice it up to use it. It’s made by Etsy seller La Pretentieuse (The Pretentious), using their bamboo and spices soap as a base. While I never quite imagined that the aroma of the Dark Side was bamboo and spices, I suppose it’s better than the smell of Anakin’s burnt flesh and sweat.

You should note that since the jumbo Vader soap is made with black oxide, that it’s lather will be grey – despite the fact that it’s getting you clean. I like to think that bathing with this would eventually pull you over to the Dark Side, but that’s just me.

Priced at $85(USD), it’s definitely the most expensive bar of soap I’ve ever seen, but somebody has to help fund the construction of the next Death Star I suppose.

I would so buy these heels for my wife, assuming she had a geeky bone in her body. Further assuming, she was coordinated enough to wear heels without breaking a leg (love you honey). These heels are hand-painted with a solid representation of characters and scenes from Star Wars.

I will say that something is a bit off about Luke’s face on the red shoes. I prefer the blue version with scenes from Hoth and bikini-clad slave Leia. The shoes are painted by a woman named Holly Grothues and she’s happy to paint geeky scenes on other shoes as well.

That’s good news if your significant other likes geeky stuff, but not high heels. The heels sell for $85(USD) a pair over on Etsy, which isn’t a bad price – given the detailed work, it must take a long time to paint each pair.

Throughout the Mass Effect series, gamers have been trying to decide what decisions are best made and which are detrimental to their character. Sometimes, telling off a superior earns you more conversation options, but sometimes it just gets you in a deep pile of trash-compactor slime. These Paragon and Renegade Mass Effect Pendant Necklaces will let you show off what side of the line you are on: do you take the more aggressive approach, or do you stand up for what is right?

While playing the game, I’ve found that it is much more rewarding to always take the super aggressive, sometimes cynical route. It makes gameplay more interesting, because of the sometimes explosive reactions that you get, and often opens up better conversation options later in the game. Earning Renegade points is awesome, but what do Paragon points give you? More chances to be nice to people? Renegade is where it’s at. Also, McDonald’s, because their prices are fantastic.

These pendant necklaces are both $12(USD) and are made from laser cut acrylic, and you can get the Paragon Pendant and Renegade Pendant on Etsy from Licketycut, who has an awesome username. Wouldn’t want to be the poor lollipop that that guy decides to lick – he must have a tongue like a razor.

If you love Mass Effect, then you’ll want to go check out the Omni-Tool Replica and the Mass Effect 3 Console Vaults. If you don’t love Mass Effect, then you’ve obviously never played the game. Or you’ve played it too much and it ended up ruining your life and estranging all of your friends. Curse you, single-player game.

Gamer girls who have a place in their heart for the classic Nintendo Entertainment System will want to run over to Etsy right now and grab one of these necklaces, designed to look just like the iconic 8-bit controller.

This nifty NES controller necklace is made by LicketyCut using laser cutting, engraving and painting. Each one is crafted from five pieces of acrylic, hand-assembled and then attached to a 24″ chain. I really like how the A-B buttons and D-Pad are stacked on top to give it added dimension and a tactile feel.

At just 2-1/2″ (w) x 1-1/14″ (h), it’s quite a bit smaller than a real controller, but that just means it’ll look better hanging around your neck. After all, if you wanted a full-size one you could just buy an old controller and attach a chain to it. This version looks a lot more refined in my opinion.

The NES controller necklace sells for just $25(USD) and can be found over on Etsy.

I have a confession to make. I didn’t have time to watch Game of Thrones season one when it was first on, but I just got through all the episodes last month, and it was spectacular. I can’t wait for season two. While we all wait until April, this will have to satisfy our cravings for the House of Stark.

These crocheted amigurumi Stark family characters were made by Kati of Luna’s Crafts, and perfectly capture the personas of whole clan. There’s Ned, Catelyn, Robb, Sansa, Bran (who appears to be standing with the help of a couple of direwolf pups,) Arya (and her needle), and Jon Snow, complete with his flowing black locks and white wolf puppy, Ghost. Given the way season one ended, Eddard is looking better than we’ve seen him in a while.

Looks like this set is long gone (or was possibly a custom job), but if you’re interested in putting in a special order for yourself, you can head over to Luna’s Crafts Etsy shop and do so. Personally, I’d like a set with Tyrion Lannister, Khal Drogo, Daenerys Targaryen and her tiny dragon kids. Oh, and The Mountain. On a tiny crocheted horse.

You’ve seen the old ship in a bottle, and the airplane in a lightbulb, but I bet you’ve never seen a TARDIS in a bottle before.
I am amazed by people making ships in bottles, but I at least know some of the tricks as to how they do it. I’m extra impressed at putting something as big as a TARDIS in a bottle. How in the hell did they do that? It could be a devious trap by The Master, but it is actually a project made by hpotterwizard.

The materials used are balsa, wood glue, a glass bottle, a cork, sand and more patience than I have. Looks like you can put time (and space) in a bottle after all.

These come from GeekyVixen on Etsy, who makes a bunch of doll mash-ups. These Star Wars versions are the weirdest. You want a AT-ST with a giant baby head? Check. A TIE Fighter with a baby head? Check. How about R2-D2 with baby feet and a baby head. You got it.

Fans of Portal will immediately recognize the icons on this blanket from those instruction posters at the entrance of each of Aperture Labs’ test chambers. It seems to cover most of the basics, from Weighted Companion Cube use to turret avoidance, to accelerating via portals. Though it doesn’t provide any details on how you might use it to cover up and catch a nap or keep your feet warm.

The Portal blanket was created by Flickr contributor DoctorMoo, and measures in at a whopping 9 feet by 6 feet, and weighs in at 7 pounds, so it’s definitely substantial. It took Moo about 74 hours of crocheting – and countless hours of planning to pull off this brilliant feat of geekery, and it looks like it was worth it.

While it doesn’t appear that the blanket is up for sale, you can certainly grab a cool crocheted Portal scarf over at DoctorMoo’s Etsy shop for just $35(USD).

No, but since it is made of stained glass, all of the light gathers inside, probably creating some kind of infinity anomaly that could turn this into a real TARDIS. If Time Lords actually went to church, this is probably what their church would look like.
It was created as an art class project, by Alexandria. The top comes off, so she plans to use it as a candy jar. That’s a great idea because candy always tastes better when it comes from a TARDIS.

That’s clearly because candy ages just right after it travels through time and space. This is great work and we look forward to her future projects, which she says will have Doctor Who and Star Trek themes. Awesome job, Alexandra.

I just happened to catch Robocop on satellite yesterday again, and determined that it’s aged nicely from an cheesy, hyper-violent action flick into a hyper-cheesy, hyper-violent action flick over the years. Plus, it has the guy who played Dr. Romano on ER getting covered in toxic waste and splattered by a car in it.

While most of us remember Robocop as the movie’s main robotic character, there was also the more deadly – but slightly more stupid ED-209. If you liked ED-209′s big turrets and birdlike waddle, then you’ll probably enjoy this:

What we have here is a miniature version of ED-209, made up out of old junk parts. It was created by Sage Werbock (aka “The Great Nippulini“) using various stuff he had lying around including a head made from an old computer power supply, and legs and arms made from used propane bottles. The little robot even has a pivoting center, so he can swing from side-to-side, spraying his non-existent ammo across the room, laying waste to invisible enemies.

You’re looking at Mini-ED here, who measures in at about 13-1/2 inches-tall and 15 inches-wide. But this isn’t the only ED-209 that Werbock has welded together, no. He also has a giant 300 pound version of the robot hanging out in his backyard – that version used full-size propane tanks for its arm-turrets.

For now, only Mini-ED is for sale, and you can grab him over at Etsy for $150 (USD). You have 15 seconds to comply….

I’ve always been a fan of Monty Python, but more recently, I’m an even bigger fan of The Walking Dead. As a matter of fact, the new episode is starting right now, and I have to get to the DVR to un-pause and start watching it as soon as I’m done writing this. So when I saw this art which mashes up both Python and Walking Dead, I had a major nerdgasm.

Inspired by an original graphic design by Teo Zirinis, The Ministry of Silly Walking Dead needs to go above my fireplace mantle now. It’s made up from 10 individual 7″ x 5″ canvases, nine of which have zombies walking along doing their best John Cleese impression, while the tenth one has Rick Grimes taking aim and blowing away zombie number nine. Shane is nowhere to be seen – probably because he already sacrificed a civilian to make his escape.

This limited-edition set is hand-stenciled by UK artist Rob Marchant of RAMART, and sells for £75 (~$122 USD). Whether you’re a Python or Dead fan, you should swing by Etsy and check it out now. If you like the idea, but are too cheap to buy the canvas version, then grab Teo’s original design on a T-shirt over at RedBubble for about $22.

Dungeonmasters everywhere, here’s some cool new dice you can add to your D&D collection. What we have here are a couple of d20 (20-sided dice) handmade from stained glass.

These awesome, oversize Dungeons & Dragons d20 dice were built by Casey Borders using traditional stained glass soldering techniques, combined with laser cutting, and computer-aided design software to create precise templates.

It’s hard to tell exactly how large the finished glass dice are, but they’re clearly much larger than traditional dice. I’m thinking Price is Right Dice Game size, but I could be wrong. Given all of the labor that went into making these things, I wouldn’t feel comfortable rolling these dice, but Casey says you can roll them on carpet or other soft surfaces if you want.

Surprisingly, these aren’t the first stained glass D20s out there. If you like these, you also might want to check out these other stained glass D&D dice by Bloodthirsty Vegetarians, which actually use solder for the numbers – though I can’t imagine they would roll as accurately with varying weight on each face.

If you’ve got sufficient dexterity and craft skill points (and the proper tools), you can build your own stained glass D20 dice. Just head over to Instructables for the full build instructions.

We all know that if you wore a red shirt on Star Trek (the original series) that your days (or minutes) were likely numbered. Maybe it’s just that working for the Security or Engineering departments on a Federation starship is more dangerous than most other jobs. But even if you’re worried about the redshirt being evaporated shortly after you put it on your couch, you’ll probably want these Star Trek uniform pillows.

They might not be Federation approved, but if I were Captain, I’d have these in my chambers regardless of any Pillow Directives. These handmade pillows come in three styles: gold (for command), blue (for science), and red (for engineering). The guys over at Yellow Bug Boutique, who make these, claim that there is also a missing red security pillow which “was vaporized in scene 2.”

Each one measures 14″ x 14″ and is made from fleece and felt. Trekkies can head over to Etsy and beam down a set of three pillows for $100 (USD). Individual pillows will set you back $35 each, plus shipping. I wonder what shipping rates will be like once they perfect transporter technology.
