Bored at work? Wish there was something you could do to transform your office space into something more fun, interesting, and conducive to work? Then get yourself a Tetra Shed!

This ultra-cool office cubicle was designed by London’s David Ajasa-Adekunle of the Innovation Imperative studio. It was designed to be an extremely, well, different kind of workspace either for your home or for your office. Each self-contained workpod can be opened or closed to increase privacy or to let the light in.

But let’s face it, unless you’re your own boss, I doubt you’ll be able to secure permission to haul in your own cubicle, especially for something that looks like it’s going to be taking up a whole lot of space – thought it does look like they’ll be able to closely interlock if you convince your company to replace all their cubicles with them.

That said, Tetra Shed is a futuristic office cubicle that will be made available to the eager working public early next year. What do you think?

The entire Fortress rig is available now over on eBay. Scott built the diorama in an “L” shape, but says it could be modified to fit another setting too. It’s made from a wooden base, with three sizes of paper “crystal” tubes that slide over acrylic mounts. There are also a number of LEDs throughout the setup to make the whole thing glow.

As an added bonus, the Fotress includes a clear plastic “hologram” mask of Jor-El (or is it Marlon Brando?) to hang on your wall – or to wear on your face if you’re into such things. There are currently no bids on the Fortress, and Scott will let the whole thing go for a Buy it Now price of $450. Keep in mind that since this thing will be difficult to transport, he’d prefer a local pickup somewhere in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I’ve been a cubicle dweller several times, although all of them short-lived. Corporate vets may be more amused at Thup Games’ HRmageddon, a Flash game which puts the gore in merger. What? Anyway. HRmageddon’s “story” starts when your company, Gray Solutions, merges with Beige Dynamics. The problem? The number of openings remain the same, but the number of employees have doubled. The higher ups’ solution, delivered to you via an attached PowerPoint presentation:

Battles take place tactics-style. To win, you must kill all of the rival employees, or capture more cubicles than the opposing team. Employees consist of managers, receptionists, IT guys and salesmen, with varying specialties and attack ranges. Before each battle, you choose which of these employees and how many of each type to hire, as long as you spend within the budget. There are power ups on the field too, all of them office related as well, e.g. “Holiday Bonus”, which heals a unit and bestows a temporary attack bonus.

The game is kinda slow-paced, but the animations made me stick with it, especially the salesman’s attacks and the manager’s moves. Check out the HRmageddon at Adult Swim. While you’re there, be a kind soul and check out My Lil’ Bastard for me won’t you? I wanted to play it but I didn’t have the time. And also Robot Unicorn Attack; and Dungeons and Dungeons; and Death Vegas.

No one wants monotony. And if the monotonous thing happens to be necessary to survive, then you come to hate it even more. Because if you could escape it altogether anytime you wanted you wouldn’t have any reason to hate it. What am I talking about? You like games right? Let Paolo Pedercini and his game, Everyday the same dream, walk you through a semi-literal representation of urban adult life.

The puzzler isn’t exactly life-changing, but in my opinion it accurately captures the whole tone of this ridiculous routine that is urban adulthood. Trust me, your desire to help the protagonist will be freaking genuine. Playing this game made me think back to the final days of high school and later on, college, moments when I was inclined (or forced) to think of what I’ll be doing when I got out of school.

Musician, writer, bum, anything but the office. Anything but the office. Turns out that whatever path you choose, the monotony will kick in sooner or later. Sooner or later. I blame the game for making me say those things. Go play it and ruin someone else’s day.

Ah, the office life. Waking up early, wearing”business casual”, pretending to work for 8 hours, getting promoted to a different position but with the same duties and salary (from Domestic Purchasing Specialist to Local Marketing Officer. HELL YEAH. You’re really movin up the ladder sir. You really are.). Can you imagine doing that for 30 to 50 years? Oh you’re already doing it? Well so am I! What are the chances! Why don’t we honor our past, present and future with The Cubes, awesome figurines of office stereotypes? Have a blast identifying which Cube you are! Then weep afterwards.

See yourself already? No? Let’s take a closer look: are you Ted or Bob, that guy who uh… who uh… are you Ted or Bob?

That’s Ted on the left, and that’s Bob on the right. Or is it the other way around? Who cares right? The Sensitivity Consultant, that’s who!

Some of you may be scoffing and smirking right now. I know, unlike the rest of us, you have actual responsibilities. You’re way smarter than the rest of us, and we really depend on you. We depend on you to unblock certain websites and allow our chat programs to go online. Thank you, I.T. Guy. No, I still don’t understand what you’re talking about. TV? Yeah I like Fringe! Awesome show man, also that other one where the island is alive and all, I don’t really understand it but – hey man where you going?

Found yourself yet? No? Tsk tsk tsk. You might be just like me then. You start out as this fresh, promising, hopeful probationary employee with below average wage and no benefits, but yeah, fresh and hopeful, and then as the days go by, ever so slowly, you find yourself shedding skin and brain cells. As soon as you step into your building you begin to feel your life force being drained out of you. Soon you’ll just find yourself shuffling papers, photocopying papers, typing memos up, having them signed, on and on and on and on and braaaaaaiiiiiiiiinsssss —

Hurrrrgghhh – oh yeah prices. The I.T. Guy, Bob and Ted sell for $13 (USD) each (cubicle included), the Sensitivity Consultant is a mere $5, and the glow in the dark Corporate Zombies sell for $13.50 for a set of four. You can find all of them at Archie McPhee, along with the other Cube characters. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go do important stuff. Like… eat my own brain and shit.

Somehow I let these Mario Brothers miniature golf players slip between the cracks when they came out a couple of months back. But in my quest for holiday gifts for gamers, they popped back on my radar screen — so I guess it’s better late than never.

Mario and Luigi sit on your tabletop and can putt a tiny golf ball into a little cup. They’re wired to a Nintendo Famicom-inspired remote control which gets your putter swinging. While they do look like fun, the wonky controls (the A and B buttons control the swing) make your odds of a hole-in-one about as good as me getting one on a real life golf course.

The mini Mario and Luigi golfers cost $14.99 each, so the pair will set you back just under 30 bucks from ThinkGeek. They’re perfect for the Nintendo fan with everything.

No, they’re not really moles. The little dudes look more like oversize red, yellow and green LEDs. Nor does the game come with a mallet like the original carny game. Since it’s so small, you just feverishly tap on the currently illuminated guy with your fingertip.

If you can get over the name, you can pick one up from UK gadget shop Gadget-Box for £12.49 (about $25 USD.)

Homer lounges lazily in his easy chair while providing a source of supplemental light on your work surface. The lampshade is adjustable and has 4 LEDs to provide just a little bit of accent light. Just plug it in to a spare USB port on your computer and you’re set.

The Koolatron Coin-Op Mini Fridge lets you chill up to ten cans of your favorite 12-oz. canned drinks (up to five cans each of two flavors). Then it requires deposit of money (Quarters only, though) before it dispensing a can. And it even comes with a dozen special tokens that you can keep for yourself, so you won’t have to pony up the dough for your own soda.

The Koolatron comes in both blue and silver versions and is available from Solutions (web only) for $149.99.

Remember those irritating claw machines from the arcades and carnivals? You know, the ones that always had one really great prize inside that weighed 10 pounds more than the claw could lift? Now you can get your own miniature one for your cubicle.

This battery-powered mini claw machine provides all the fun and frustration of the full-sized version. You control the X/Y position and height of the “claw” with three little joysticks. Get the position just right, then move in for the kill to see if you can score a tasty treat. It even plays some circus-y music while you precisely position the grabber over your prize (if you find that annoying, you can disable the tunes.)

Designed to vend your favorite candies (or other small baubles,) I bet this thing would be a great diet aid if you’re used to regularly emptying out that bowl of sweets on your desk. If you’re feeling really whimsical, why not put your brand new iPhone in there and dare some co-workers to try to lift it out?

Available from Perpetual Kid, the Sweet Machine Candy Grabber is $38.99.

Sometimes you just have one of those stressful days where nothing goes your way. Now you can take out your frustrations using this device that attaches to your computer.

Just open up the cover on the USB Stress Panic Button and smack it with your fist. The $17 Panic Button includes three wacky screen effects which are triggered when you push the giant button. The effects include an exploding screen, a punch the boss game and an Excel spreadsheet that makes it look like you’re actually doing something productive.

Keep in mind that the software only works with Windows PCs, so you’ll only get more frustrated if you connect it to your Mac or Unix machine.

(If you’d rather just smash your computer screen, there’s always this option.)

Ever wanted to annihilate your annoying office-mates? Tired of your boss giving you crap? Well you can now put an end to all that with the $54.99 USB-controlled desktop missile launcher.

The rocket launcher fires soft foam missiles from a software-controlled platform that can rotate and tilt to aim at your target up to eight feet away. Currently, the software is for Windows 2000/XP only, but it’s already been hacked to work from a Mac or Linux as well.

The only downside, USB doesn’t appear to provide sufficient power to launch the rockets, so the launcher requires three AA batteries.
