I haven’t needed to wear cufflinks in ages, but these TARDIS links sure look cool. These novelty cufflinks will allow you to tailor your formal look with a bit of your inner geek. A touch more Doctor Who wouldn’t hurt anyone’s look.

Simon Jansen made these TARDIS cufflinks using an N-scale model of a blue police box that’s been made ubiquitous by the Doctor. He made them by using a bit of light metalworking and a razor saw. Then, he painted them so that they would match the overall look of the TARDIS. Since these are quite small, it was a bit of a challenge, but they came out looking pretty great.

In order to make your own, you’ll need to look for some UK miniature train models to find a blue police box. Then read Jansen’s brief worklog to learn how to make your own TARDIS cufflinks.

Been invited to a wedding, a business dinner, a funeral, or some other stuffy event, but still want to look cool? Were those 8-bit video game ties a bit too garish for your stuck-up friends? These metal gamer cufflinks are perfect for showing your gamer spirit in a slightly more subtle way.

Wii fan? Don’t want to wear a pair of PS2 Dual Shocks on your wrist? That’s okay because they’ve also got these little Wii-mote controller cufflinks too.

And if you’re looking for something a little more cross-platform friendly, check out the Guitar Hero cufflinks.

My fingers hurt just thinking about how tiny those frets and strum bar are. Try playing Through The Fire And Flames on Expert one of these.

The sterling silver Dual Shock and Wii-mote links will set you back a pricey $150 (USD), while the silver plate GH guitars will run you just $50 bucks. You can find all three designs over at Cufflinks.com.

I just got invited to a formal wedding this Fall, and have been stymied as to what I would wear since it’s been about 15 years since I had to wear a tuxedo to anything. While I still might have to rent a tux and bow tie, at least I know what I’ll be wearing on my sleeves.

How could you resist going out on a night on the town with these great Pac-Man cufflinks on your wrists? Handmade by Sarah Lynne Designs, they feature the likeness of Pac-Man on one cuff and a blue ghost (presumably spawned after a tasty power pill) on the other.

Sarah makes the cufflinks from sturdy brushed aluminum and then coats them with a heavy-duty resin for that glossy sheen. The intricate character designs are made from hand sculpted wire and paint, while the dots are made from teeny, tiny beads.

You can find these and other cool contemporary jewelry over on Sarah’s Etsy shop.
