These delicious looking Star Wars cupcakes by lclllc turned up over on Flickr and they look awesome.

The set of cakes includes the cartoony likenesses of everyone from Yoda to Boba Fett to Princess Leia to the Death Star to an Ewok and even a Tusken Raider in yummy cupcake form.

I wonder if the dark side tastes any richer than the light side.

The brain slugs of Futurama were pastrified using gum paste for the slug’s body, royal icing for the eyes, flower stamen for the antennae, and cherry butter cream for brains, all on top of poor vanilla cupcakes. Bake them at your own risk.

Killer Geek Cupcakes the Easy Way

Note that the title doesn’t indicate that this is the easiest way to obtain awesome custom cupcakes; that, of course, means dragging yourself down to the nearest shop and placing an order. But the second-easiest way to achieve, say, Pac-Man perfection, is to make your own cupcakes of any sort, and just slap these purchasable covers on ‘em.

SugarRobot’s Esty store has all sorts of cupcake covers, from fancy little butterflies (edible!) to robots (awesome!) to the Pac-Man covers shown above. For ten bucks, you can cover a dozen cupcakes… but will you claim the work as your own? Tsk, tsk.

Using the covers sounds ridiculously easy: make your cupcakes, cover ‘em with a tiny bit of frosting (think of it as delicious glue), and then apply the covers. It’s a recipe for instant cupcake success, and maybe if we make a big enough deal out of these, SugarRobot will roll out (and cut out) even more fondant designs.

What could be better than the yummy, sugary goodness of cupcakes? I’ll tell you. Yummy, sugary, Space Invader cupcakes, that’s what!

Pixel baker extraordinaire Hello Naomi is at it again with her video game baked goods. This time, they’re adorned with the 8-bit aliens who ate so many of our quarters way back when. I suppose it’s our turn to get back at them by biting their heads off. Mmmm, alien frosting.

Naomi has also been responsible for cranking out such wonderful video game delicacies as these Pac-Man, Super Mario and LEGO cupcakes.

Damn. These Pac-Man cupcakes sure look tasty. Too bad I just ate dinner, and too bad that they’re only a picture of cupcakes instead of ones that I can actually pop in my mouth and chow down on.

I wonder if the cherries really taste like cherries?

Cupcake Speakers Sound Delicious

These freshly baked cupcakes from Semk may look tasty, but you’ll probably chip a tooth on ‘em if you try to bite in. That’s because they’re actually speakers, not cupcakes. Bummer.

Yep, no delicious frosting, just bass and treble. Just plug these compact stereo speakers into any media player or computer and you’ll be ready to rock out. They’re brand new, so they may be hard to find for a while. Expect them to start popping up from retailers over the next few months.

All this talking about cupcakes made be hungry. I’m gonna go get some pastries now.
