At first look, this seems to be pretty disgusting. At second look, it seems to be still disgusting, and I am beginning to wonder whether or not I would eat it. Perhaps if we had this same setup, except without the animal parts covering my cupcake, then we’d be okay. Bacon frosting was one thing, but cupcake-filled sausages? This might be too delicious for my weak stomach mankind to handle. UP THE VOMIT BAG MANUFACTURING BY 200%! OCCUPY WALLSTREET!

Stef of Cupcake Project makes these beauties by pouring a bunch of chocolate cupcake batter into animal intestines, and then putting them on a grill. (Yep.) Ah, what the heck – I’d buy twenty, just because I like to support the geeks who are out there trying to come up with amazing food combinations. And, hey – who knows – maybe these are delicious! It’s kind of difficult, with the current technology, to taste things via the internet. It’s much easier to walk around and then lick your shoes in order to find out what the ground had stuck to it. *Licks shoe*

This beautiful Indy cupcake was made by Kati Peck, who captures the spirit of both Indy and the movies very nicely with a simple, minimal image. It features Indy’s whip and hat on top, mimicking one of the classic movie posters, with just the right amount of sprinkles on the side.

The brain slugs of Futurama were pastrified using gum paste for the slug’s body, royal icing for the eyes, flower stamen for the antennae, and cherry butter cream for brains, all on top of poor vanilla cupcakes. Bake them at your own risk.

SugarRobot’s Esty store has all sorts of cupcake covers, from fancy little butterflies (edible!) to robots (awesome!) to the Pac-Man covers shown above. For ten bucks, you can cover a dozen cupcakes… but will you claim the work as your own? Tsk, tsk.

Using the covers sounds ridiculously easy: make your cupcakes, cover ‘em with a tiny bit of frosting (think of it as delicious glue), and then apply the covers. It’s a recipe for instant cupcake success, and maybe if we make a big enough deal out of these, SugarRobot will roll out (and cut out) even more fondant designs.

Pixel baker extraordinaire Hello Naomi is at it again with her video game baked goods. This time, they’re adorned with the 8-bit aliens who ate so many of our quarters way back when. I suppose it’s our turn to get back at them by biting their heads off. Mmmm, alien frosting.

Naomi has also been responsible for cranking out such wonderful video game delicacies as these Pac-Man, Super Mario and LEGO cupcakes.
