Artist Lucy Sparrow of Felt Sew Good makes several cushions based on old Nintendo systems. For starters, theres a shiny Famicom controller, which looks like it would make a nice pillow behind your neck during long gaming sessions.

There’s also a Game Boy cushion as well as a Super Nintendo console along with a matching controller. What I love about these is that they’re not just tiny pillows – each one is quite substantial.

While those are all awesome, my favorite has to be the one based on the all-time classic controller from the original Nintendo Entertainment System.

Each cushion sells for £37 (~$59 USD) plus £7.50 (~$12 USD) for shipping to the U.S., and can be ordered over at Felt Sew Good’s online shop, where you can also find Lucy’s cool ZX Spectrum and Speak and Spell cushions. Cat ears not included.

With the exception of these Concrete Cushions by Torafu Architects, that is. These cushions are part of the design studio’s “Soft Block” series that offers a solution for modular, re-arrangable furniture.

Each of the faux concrete blocks feature varying and diverse designs that come together wonderfully when they’re stacked or placed side-by-side. Make a chair, put together a sofa, or lay everything down flat on the floor to come up with a mattress.

The cushions are extra cushy and comfortable since they use cushy, but supportive Fine Revo foam material by Asleep.

Now I’d lie down any day on this kind of concrete.

The Cushpad provides a soft and squishy resting place for your iPad 2, whether in bed, on your lap while on the couch, or on a table. It’s a simple idea – a trapezoidal pillow, covered with a satiny fabric, and a couple of small pillow-like grips to hold the iPad in place. Just slide your iPad into the soft ledges of the Cushpad, and it holds it nicely in place. It works in both landscape or portrait orientations, and smartly offers two different angles for horizontal usage. There’s also a handle on the back for easily carrying it around, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing that with the iPad in place.

I recently got a chance to try a Cushpad with my iPad 2, and it really is helpful for viewing movies and playing games while lying in bed and hanging out on the sofa. I could also see it coming in handy on your lap while on an airplane or long train or bus trip. About the only thing I didn’t care for was that you really need to remove the Smart Cover in order for it to hold your iPad – although for quick usage, I figured out that you can set the iPad into the bottom ledge and flip the Smart Cover over the top of the Cushpad too. It’s just not as solid and stable as if you remove the cover and use both ledges. Still, it’s a minor complaint about an otherwise very handy little invention.

The Cushpad is available in green, blue, red, grey or black fabric, and the cover comes off for easy washing too. It sells for $34.99 (USD), but they’re offering an extra $5 discount if you “like” them over on Facebook first.

The Earos cushion concept at first was something I laughed at and figured we could just point and mock anyone who might use the real thing. Then I thought about it and decided that this massive ear cushion would be the perfect way to shame these constant phone talkers into using their phone less. I think of it like a scarlet letter, only not red and not a letter, but you get the idea.

The idea behind the concept is that people who talk a lot on their phones would use the thing to cushion their ear and make the ear cooler.  Earos also reckons it will prevent some scratches.

If you are on the phone so much that your ear sweats, you need an intervention.

The guys over at Korea’s Early Adopter Shop are offering the iCushion for 19,800 KRW (appx. $17 USD), but good luck trying to get one of these outside of Korea. Maybe you can fly a whole planeload of people over there and have them use these as neck rests on the flight back to the States.

You can choose to sit on a brown bear or a pink sheep, both shaped like a flower for some reason. The cord is pretty long at around 3.6′, long enough to plug into your desktop or laptop without hitting any snags.

Since it’s powered via a USB port, you can take it around with your laptop to create that perfect mobile workstation.

This USB seat cushion is available from Gadget4all for $19.90. I wouldn’t mind one right now, as my chair isn’t that warm.

Created by Lady Harvatine, the stuffed arcade machine captures the spirit of some of my fondest arcade memories. Inspired by these most excellent papercraft arcade creations, she set off to create her own unique spin on the arcade classic. The centerpiece of the squishy system has to be the piece of retro Pac-Man fabric that a friend of hers scrounged up for the screen.

Affectionately known as “Pac-y”, the plush arcade machine has a stuffed joystick and two coin slots that actually will eat your coins (there’s a zipper in the back that lets you retrieve your money).

The machine is the first of the Lady’s “Harvacade” collection. I’m hoping for some Donkey Kong or Dig Dug next.
