Dalek Oreos, Double Stuffing, Double the Extermination

Remember that time when the Doctor bluffed his way out of Dalek extermination by using a Jammie Dodger (which is a British biscuit or cookie) and telling them it was some sort of doomsday device? Well, the Daleks are having some cookie fun of their own.

That would have been a great episode in which to feature these Dalek Oreos. The Daleks could have one-upped him by wheeling out a tray of these guys to kill his cookie.

They certainly are cute and they look delicious. They were made by Flickr user Navaboo with some help from her boyfriend and she was kind enough to share her recipe along with the image here. If you plan on throwing a Doctor Who bash anytime soon, you should serve these up to your guests.

100,000-LEGO Brick Xmas Dalek: Celebrate! Uh, We Mean Exterminate!

Would I spend hour upon hour to complete a 7-foot Dalek, that’s appropriately garbed for the holidays? Probably not, but that didn’t stop the Addis family from Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, UK, from going for it.

Fans of Doctor Who, will be impressed with what they’ve come up with. Their Dalek has all of the right colors for the holidays, and a Santa hat, all made out of LEGO bricks. In total, the family used about 100,000 bricks and 200 hours to complete their jollier than usual looking Dalek for Christmas.

Each year, the Addis family uses a different LEGO themed decoration to feature in their Christmas card. From nutcrackers, to churches, to angels, quite a few have been done in the past 18 years, but the Dalek is by far their geekiest (and greatest) creation.

Huge Dalek Invades Burning Man, Teams Up with Stormtrooper

Daleks are already fairly large. Just ask the Doctor. But this Dalek is on steroids. The Doctor might just think twice about challenging this one.

This Dominating Dalek of Destruction showed up at Burning Man this year and makes me glad that we don’t see more Daleks on the road. Or in the desert for that matter. Judging by the video, he’s a big hit with the ladies and he even made a Stormtrooper friend. When asked about it, the Stormtrooper admitted that, yes, this was the droid he was looking for.

The whole thing is very surreal and it kind of looks like Tatooine with a Dalek rolling around. At first I thought it was another George Lucas CGI addition to the new Blu-Rays. I just figured there was a Jawa riding around in that Dalek. Nope. Just humans being humans.

Daleks Invade London: Sanctioned by the BBC

It was a strange sight on London’s Westminster Bridge when people saw Daleks rolling about, getting ready to exterminate everyone. The procession included four generations of Daleks, showing how the mutant creatures had evolved during the years.

The top photo commemorates a classic scene in a 1964 episode that featured the Daleks invading London.

Those pesky mutants in their robot vehicles have been mistakenly thought as cyborgs, but they aren’t! They’re mutants! Steven Moffat announced recently that the Daleks were being retired from Doctor Who, much to the chagrin of many.

There are now various Dalek models on display at The Doctor Who Experience exhibition in London’s Olympia until this November.

Doctor Who Dalek and Tardis Dress-Up Time

Doctor Who fans have got to love these awesome cosplay girls, all decked out as a Dalek and the Tardis.

While I do think the Dalek dress is more true to the original, there’s something to be said for getting away from the boxy look of the Tardis and going with something a little more stylish – or at least a little more pointy. It’s not like a square dress would be particularly attractive.

Good work, girls! All 11 Doctors would approve.

Make Your Own Daleks to Take Over the World With These Amazing Plans!

You know the Daleks? Those pesky cybernetic lifeforms from Doctor Who, which are supposed to be the epitome of living and cybernetic organisms? Well, apparently if you had written to the BBC in the 1970s or 1980s asking them information about how to build your own, they would have sent you these plans.

My only question is, would they have worked? Probably not, still it’s a great marketing ploy. I can already imagine kids everywhere trying to make their own Daleks to take over the world.

I actually don’t see how a giant pepper shaker can be menacing; I’m more creeped out at the weird slug-like creatures inside the armor.

Dalek Shoes Do the Exterminating for You

Love Dr. Who? Then have I got a shoe for you! A Dalek shoe, to be true. Yup, that’s a pair of handpainted Daleks gracing those black sneakers.

These shoes are no one-note craft, though. In addition to the Dalek painting on the front, you’ve also got “EXTERMINATE” written on the back. Ergo, no matter what direction you’re facing, your shoes will be shown to be more unique than anyone else’s.

These were created by kelly_bear, who originally envisioned a Dalek on one shoe and a Cyberman on the other shoe, so that her shoes could reenact an epic battle at a moment’s notice. Upon realizing it was too hard to paint a Cyberman she decided to go double-Dalek instead.

You’ve gotta love the choice of pink argyle to soften up the evilness.
