The only drawback I can see is that you need extra room on either side as you are pushing and pulling the beams, but if you have the room this would be an awesome piece of furniture to display.

These office supplies were created by the Spalvieri/Del Ciotto studio for Lexon. All of these creations are sustainable and are powered by photovoltaic cells. When that’s not enough, they include rechargeable batteries. They are made out of corn plastic, which is eco-friendly and has a unique feel. Even the color scheme is geared to sustainability, as it’s white with green accents.

The Maizy collection includes a radio, LED flashlight, analog and digital alarm clocks and two calculators. Lexon doesn’t advertise retail prices on their wholesale website, but I imagine they’ll be reasonably priced when they hit stores.

The slit in the back of the neck will hold your letters and papers. Since you can’t battle a real zombie and claim his head for your desk, this will have to do for now. The zombie head pencil holder is available for $34.95(USD) over at the Neatoshop.

Priced at a whopping $44,750 (USD), this thing is definitely the Porsche of computer workstations. Though for that price, they should throw in a computer with the proper display cards an Xbox 360 and a PS3. The chair should have a massager too. Really, how much would that eat into their profit margins to throw those in?

If $45k is too rich for your blood, you might want to check out MWE’s “bargain priced” Emporer 1510, which does away with the fancy finishes and touchscreen remote, (plus you need to BYO displays), but is considerably more accessible with prices starting at “just” $6,200.

The Countdown Clock allows you to count days, hours, minutes and seconds until important dates, such as birthdays, weddings, lunch, or your next vacation.You easily can load the clock up with your own important dates. There are control buttons that allow you to go through them quickly and select the ones you want to obsess about. You can even program it to display custom messages. It will also count upwards – so you can know how long it’s been since you started that diet, or how old your cat is.

The product is called the Elliptical Machine Office Desk. The desk includes a semi-recumbent elliptical machine with electronic resistance control. The little screen with the curved top you see on the left in the photos is the control panel for that exercise gear. It will operate at slow speeds so you can concentrate and the screen keeps up with the RPM, calories burned, and distance ridden for up to 30 different people.

The desk is cool too with a height adjustment to accommodate people up to 6’9″ and fit that elliptical underneath. It also has a rail system for mounting your computer LCD. The big downside is that the desk and exercise gear costs $8,000 (USD) plus a $450 shipping fee. The upside is that for those of us that are lazy the price is yet another excuse to skip exercising.

Actually, turning your GameCube into a desktop caddy is a task best left to the pros, like Etsy seller GreenCüb, whose tagline is simply “Office Supplies Made from Recycled Video Game Systems”. At this point the only said office supply is their GameCube caddy, which offers ample storage for your paperclips, pushpins, pens and other desktop doo-dads.

Each organizer is made from an actual (broken) GameCube, and features a handy metal tray in place of the disc drive, a pull-out drawer where the controllers once plugged in, a magnetic paperclip caddy on the vent holes, and pen/pencil holes in place of the Power and Reset buttons. There’s even a little shelf on back for storing your iPhone or other compact gadget too.

Sure, I suppose you could try and do this yourself, but I’d suggest that you head on over to GreenCüb’s Etsy shop and just buy one ready-made. Prices range from $39 to $49 (USD), depending on the particular GameCube model you want.

The entire Fortress rig is available now over on eBay. Scott built the diorama in an “L” shape, but says it could be modified to fit another setting too. It’s made from a wooden base, with three sizes of paper “crystal” tubes that slide over acrylic mounts. There are also a number of LEDs throughout the setup to make the whole thing glow.

As an added bonus, the Fotress includes a clear plastic “hologram” mask of Jor-El (or is it Marlon Brando?) to hang on your wall – or to wear on your face if you’re into such things. There are currently no bids on the Fortress, and Scott will let the whole thing go for a Buy it Now price of $450. Keep in mind that since this thing will be difficult to transport, he’d prefer a local pickup somewhere in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Even though most people use their iPhone a lot, it’s true that many of us still have land line or an IP phone on their desk. With the Desk Phone Dock, you can use your iPhone as your sole telephone.

What’s cool is that you can call and receive phone calls like any traditional phone using the desktop handset. It also works as an audio and charging dock for your iPhone and has two built-in speakers, a mic, a prominent volume control knob, and an instant mute feature.  It’s not available yet, but is expected to be released in the near future.

It’s hard to believe that this is Urbina’s first casemod, and I also find it hard to believe Urbina when he says that “The Desk’s function is to just get things done”, because if I had to work using The Desk I would be extremely distracted by the lights and the innards.

Urbina built the tower – which by the way, is called, “The Tower” – so that he can turn off his additional hard drives individually. The Tower contains 5 disks – with room for 1 more – bringing The Desk’s total capacity to 3.62 terabytes. Auto-modder Edd China of Cummfy Banana has fabricated these ridiculous motor vehicles, fashioned to look like ordinary furniture. In addition to the speedy bed pictured above, he’s also built an oversize office desk on wheels, complete with multiple swivel chairs.

But his pride and joy is the “Casual Lofa,” which was once listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the “world’s fastest furniture”. The Lofa is a motorized sofa that tops out a speed of 87 MPH. (Edd beat his own record sofa speed in 2007, by getting a sofa to drive 92 MPH – go figure).

Made from case aluminum and lit by 4 bright white (1-watt) LEDs, its articulating body folds flat to form an accent light when you’re not using it for task illumination. When completely closed, it measures just 2.75″ tall (and looks like a high tech stapler). Open it up, and it can reach up to almost 22″ in height.

Of course, all this elegance comes at a cost. With an MSRP of $595 USD (and a street price around $450), the lamp sure isn’t cheap. The blocks have a snap-off top layer that’s designed to hold pens, pencils and other office items. Each brick measures in at appx. 6″ × 4″ × 2.4″, making them about 100 times larger than a 2×3 peg standard LEGO.

While they don’t actually show multiple lamps interlocked, I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t stack a bunch of these lamps to create large, illuminated sculptures.

At this point, the lamps are available only through 25togo’s online shop, and sell for 1600 Taiwan Dollars (appx. $50 USD) each.

Created by the Belgian sustainable furniture design firm Utilia, the ScooterDesk gives you a solid work surface for your laptop, and lets you sit in a comfortable upright position while you work. The desk is also available in a dual version which lets you sit side-by-side with another person. Assuming you can agree on what direction to go in, the dual model could be a good idea for pair-programming teams.

While I don’t think you could sit on a bicycle seat all day while working at your computer, it’s an cool idea for quick tasks like filling out forms, taking meeting notes or sending the occasional e-mail.

The dreadfully named “Whack It” game connects to your USB port and lets you play with yourself at your desk.

No, they’re not really moles. The little dudes look more like oversize red, yellow and green LEDs. Nor does the game come with a mallet like the original carny game. Since it’s so small, you just feverishly tap on the currently illuminated guy with your fingertip.
