A new trailer for Capcom’s upcoming game Lost Planet 2 has popped up in the Xbox Live Marketplace that features Gears of War’s Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago battling the Akrids.

Eurogamer thinks that the two will be downloadable characters (only for the Xbox 360 version of course), and will play no role in the story of the game.

How fun would it be if Nathan Drake and Solid Snake (hey that rhymed!) were the bonus characters for the PS3 version of Lost Planet 2?

wiiware world of goo joins xbla titles on amazon

Online retail giant Amazon is further expanding their downloadable video game section with WiiWare titles. As we reported previously, XBLA downloads came to Amazon earlier this month, though as yet, there is only one WiiWare title available: cult hit World of Goo.

World of Goo, widely praised as one of the best Wii experiences so far, is an excellent launch title for Amazon’s service, though unlike XBLA titles, the conversion of Nintendo Points to dollars is much simpler than that with Microsoft points: one hundred Nintendo Points equals one dollar. That doesn’t mean it isn’t convenient to see a price in dollars, or to do your shopping through Amazon. And while the Wii has a gift-purchase feature for direct Virtual Console and WiiWare downloads, this way, non-Wii owners can buy games as gifts. Everybody wins.

World of Goo is $14.99 at Amazon, and is worth every little cent. Can’t wait to see what’s available next!

Amazon’s gaming section has been going through some serious expansion lately. The online retailer recently added game trade-ins to their services, and now? Customers can buy Xbox Live Arcade titles directly through Amazon. No points, no problems; buy and get a code that allows the download to your Xbox Live account.

The service isn’t just limited to games, either; you can buy points or subscriptions to the Microsoft service, too, and since you’re dealing with codes, if you want to give the items as gifts, just hand over the number.

The service, which just launched, is nice if only for one reason: I’d much rather see a price tag in dollars than in Microsoft points!
