Some people think it’s a great idea, while some think it’s inherently worthless and is doomed to fail. All I know is that these pixel art banknotes are a great fit for Bitcoin.

I bet Dhalsim knows how to stretch his dollar, amirite? These banknotes were created by members of Pixel Joint as entries to one of the website’s weekly contests. The top prize went to Stefan Bogdanovic aka Mrmo Taurus for his Space Invaders-themed currency, which he called 40 Credits:

His geeky art certainly does that. Take the piece below for example, which Lewis calls ‘Battle 101′:

If you lobbed a Wailord directly at your enemy, it really will be super effective. Here’s more of Lewis’ other funny pieces. You’ll notice that he loves making characters from related genres meet. The Tetris final boss is hilarious.

But today you’re extra lucky – Bonhams will be auctioning off the Tardis prop that was used by the Ninth Doctor in the 2005 season.

According to the lot’s details, the 10 ft. tall phone booth/time machine/house, is “a painted rasped wood panel and glass construction”. The “Police Box” signs are removable, and it comes with roof lamps and additional interior lighting. No mention is made about its time-traveling capabilities though, so I’m guessing they’ve been disabled due to liability concerns.

The auction will take place on June 23, 2010; the prop is estimated to fetch between £8,000 to £12,000 (approx. $12,000 to $18,000 USD). Check out Bonhams’ website for more details.

Although I don’t know why anyone would want to go back to the nineties.

The Doctor Who TARDIS zipperrobe sells for £46 (approx. $70 USD) at Argos. Unfortunately it’s out of stock right now.  A similar product is listed at Doctor Who Online, but I don’t know if it’s the exact same thing.

These shoes are no one-note craft, though. In addition to the Dalek painting on the front, you’ve also got “EXTERMINATE” written on the back. Ergo, no matter what direction you’re facing, your shoes will be shown to be more unique than anyone else’s.

These were created by kelly_bear, who originally envisioned a Dalek on one shoe and a Cyberman on the other shoe, so that her shoes could reenact an epic battle at a moment’s notice. Upon realizing it was too hard to paint a Cyberman she decided to go double-Dalek instead.
