We’ve featured several horn speakers here at technabob, but I think none of them are as menacingly huge as Arcadian Audio’s 100-watt Pnoe Speakers. Each of these beasts measure approximately 87″ x 39″ x 35″ and weigh a hefty 114 lbs.

Arcadian Audio says that it took them 10 years to create these speakers. The design of the Pnoe is meant to “create the smoothest, roundest path for the sound wave front, without any obstructions, so that there are no sources of standing waves and spurious reflections.”
The speakers are made of fiberglass – Arcadian Audio describes the material as having a “friendly sonic signature” and are equipped with AER’s MD3 B drivers. The Pnoe has a sensitivity of 100dB/W, a normal impedance of 16 ohms and frequency response from 42-21,000 kHz.

My god that thing is huge. I bet it feeds on small children. The Pnoe horn speakers are exclusively available from Arcadian Audio; if you want one you should contact them for more info and pricing.

This crazy home arcade system combines the fun of arcade racing with the fun of drinking beer – all without risk of getting a ticket or worse yet, killing anyone.

Dream Arcades’ Octane 120 Beer Arcade is the perfect entertainment centerpiece for any mancave. The system combines a sit-down arcade racing cockpit with a double-keg beer cooler. Did I happen to mention it has a tap in the dashboard?

The Octane 120 sports a nice leather-wrapped force-feedback steering wheel controller and matching gear shifter. It’s also got metal gas, clutch and brake pedals. The system bundle includes a choice of a “high-end” gaming PC, a PS3 or Xbox 360, as well as a 2000 lumen, 1024×768 projector, a 5.1 audio system and a 120-inch portable projection screen.

With its $6995 (USD) pricetag, it’s not exactly cheap – but it is a whole lot less expensive than totalling your real vehicle and the ensuing lawsuit(s) and jailtime you’d get for guzzling beer while driving.

If you love classic arcade games and you have to have a big screen, you’ll love the new Dream Arcades 100-inch Home Video Arcade Center.

The system features a 100-inch diagonal screen and a 2000 lumen DLP front projector, running at 1024×768 (XGA) resolution. An Athlon 64 CPU powers the arcade emulator PC. A full arcade control panel with authentic arcade joysticks, countless buttons, a spinner, lighted trackball and even a light gun. The system ships with tons of titles from Atari, Midway, Namco, Capcom and some classic Laserdisc games from Digital Leisure (Dragons Lair I, II and Space Ace). Additional games can also be installed on the system using the pre-installed MAME32 emulator.

As an added bonus, the system is a fully-functional home theater and music jukebox. The system is being offered at an introductory price of $4499 USD, which is $500 under the final price. While you could probably throw together your own MAME box with a projector and screen for a bit less, this system is pre-configured and ready to go, plus you get technical support from Dream Arcades.
