But if you happen to have the Njord Portable Water Creator with you, then it might just be a matter of time before you can get some drinking water for yourself. This concept design is by Reymin De Leon, who aptly named it after the god of the sea.

Basically, the Njord condenses moisture in the atmosphere and “creates” water by gathering enough of this moisture inside the bottle. There’s also an internal thermostat that monitors air temperature and a “polar polymer” (whatever that is) in the Njord to regulate the conditions inside the bottle for condensation to occur.

So to get a liter of water, all you have to do is turn the device on and wait for two hours. You’ll probably be able to get your liter faster if you’re in a more humid area.

Still, I kind of like the idea behind designer Dhanai Holtzclaw’s Phone Flask as a stealthy way to carry your hooch around wherever you go. Looking very much like an iPhone 4, flicking the little “power switch” on the top allows booze pour out of the “headphone jack.” Imagine the next time you find yourself stuck in some boring-ass company meeting – just make a little marimba sound with your mouth, pull the fake iPhone from your pocket, and take a swig to take the edge off. Now isn’t that better?

Unfortunately, it looks like the Phone Flask was listed up on IndieGoGo and didn’t ever reach its fundraising goal, but maybe Apple will pick up on the idea and build in a tiny flask inside the iPhone 5. Or maybe he’ll put it back up on Kickstarter.

One thing I’ve always thought strange was how the little paper bit just dangled off of the side of the mug. It’s practically begging to slip into your piping hot water, thus forcing you to fish it out and make a small mess. There are plenty of creative solutions, I’m sure, but here’s one that I’ve not seen.

This $25 Tie Tea Cup by designer George Lee has two special notches in the lip. You can use these to wrap the string around, securing the teabag in its place. Seems like a simple enough concept. I have to say though, the price does seem a little off-putting. I mean, if you’re someone that drinks tea often enough to warrant this purchase, you’ll probably want to buy a set of four, but I can’t imagine paying a hundred bucks simply so your teabag stays where it should.

Pretty sweet, right? But hold up there, little paladin–these steins come at a premium. The cheapest single stein is $89.99. They’re pretty hefty, though, at 10″-plus and three pounds apiece.
