Listen, I’m all over the idea of crazy hair. I couldn’t even tell you what color my hair is, exactly, under the layers of dye and conditioner. But even I’m not certain about this Tetris-inspired ‘do.

On the one hand, I have to offer deep props for both the love of Tetris and this guy’s stone cold guts. But on the other hand, I feel sorta like this might be the bizarro geek form of shaving lines in your eyebrows and that’s something I never want to see again.

The tips look pretty awesome, though. Definitely a good dye job, and I have to say I like the idea of impermanent fanboy support even more than the long-lived variety. Much cooler than a Tetris tattoo, I think… because next month, you could do something else. I want to see Q*bert body paint.

While most conventional printers use ink, toner or wax to print, these new portable printers from Zink will print full color images without applying any substance to the surface of the paper.

Instead of ink or toner, Zink’s compact printers will use a special paper, embedded with color dye crystals that are activated when heat is applied. Thanks to the simplicity of their design, Zink hopes to embed their printers directly into digital cameras, cell phones and media players in the future.

UPDATE: I’ve posted a video below (via Gizmodo) which shows a Zink printer in action…

The portable printer features Bluetooth connectivity and produces 2×3 waterproof prints in about a minute each. Word on the street is that the printer will cost about $99, with the special paper running about 20 cents per print.
