I just love the look of these luscious retro-modern headphones. Named for the rotational speed of classic vinyl records, these Eskuché 33 and 1/3 headphones should be great for listening to any music, whether recorded on a vinyl platter or in the digital ether.

Each pair is loaded up with LR Soundsystems’ drivers rated at 20Hz to 20KHz frequency range and 112 dB sensitivity. The phones are enshrouded in a shiny metallic skin, and feature comfy padded ear cups attached to a comfy adjustable headband. And from the user reviews I’ve read, they don’t just look good, they sound great too. Best of all, they throw in two cords, one of them with an inline microphone and answer button so you can use ‘em with your iPhone too. Sweet. I’m so getting me a pair to replace my earbuds.

Apple’s iPhone Bluetooth wireless headset revels in its minimal design. But what’s to say that it couldn’t handle a little extra sophistication and elan?

German jewelry designer Andi Monn took the opportunity to dress up the iPhone’s earpiece with these striking metal covers. Just slip the form-fitting metal sleeve over the body of your headset, and these instantly transform into a work of art on your ear.

A specially designed magnet holds the sleeve in place without affecting the electronics of the earpiece. Each one comes with a leather cord that you can wear around your neck, as well as a custom-embossed keyring.

Available in .925 Sterling silver or high-grade brushed steel, they retail for a whopping €159 (appx. $253 USD) a piece, making them more than twice as expensive than the headset itself. But if really, really want to show off your stuff, Monn can create them custom in gold, platinum, white gold, or other precious metals on request as long as you’ve got the dough.

IPod Earbuds for Giants [Speakers]

You’ve gotta love these speakers that look like giant iPod earbuds. Unless your last name Bunyon or your first name is Green, these jumbo earphones will have to sit on your desktop instead of in your ears.

Part of the new lineup of whimsical products from Fred & Friends, these gargantuan earbud speakers are sure to draw looks sitting there alongside your laptop. They get their 500XL moniker since they’re about 500 times the size of a pair of iPod earbuds.

If you just have to have a pair, you’ll have to hold your breath for just a little while, since pricing and a release date haven’t been announced yet. (You might want to check with Perpetual Kid, since they’ve been known to carry much of the Fred line).
