Here’s a video of the Easter Egg, uploaded by YouTuber tohtor, who says that the dead, white robed man with a red belt can be found “near the ballista at the beginning of the game.”

Oh snap! Shots fired! Will Ubisoft respond with an Easter Egg of their own in the next Assassin’s Creed? Or will they be too busy screwing customers with their DRM? Oh snap!

All you have to do to check it out is hop over to Google and enter “let it snow” into the search box. After a second, you will see snowflakes start to fall down the screen. They get heavier over time and then your screen will eventually frost over.

After a bit, a button on the search bar comes on that says “Defrost”. If you hit that button the snow continues to fall, but it won’t fog up again. This is pretty cool. After this one and “do a barrel roll“, what would you like to see for Google’s next Easter Egg?

The trick was found by tricky YouTuber Trix. You can find the giant’s club – the weapon, I don’t know if there’s a disco or an association of large people in the game – in a nondescript camp in a mountain that’s located roughhly between Whiterun and Windhelm. The thing is, you can’t pick it up, but your follower can. Watch the video to see all sorts of living things being giant’s clubbed.

In case you missed it, Trix mentioned something of note in the video. You can access the weapon early in the game, meaning you can have fun with it right away, but since the club’s damage rating scales up with your level, you’ll get a much stronger club if you wait until you’re a higher level before picking it up. Who knows, maybe at level 81 your follower will be able to send enemies flying through the air.

The image is the one you see above. It’s a shot of the little Android mascot that everyone will recognize. Rather than its typical green look it’s dressed up in a costume that looks like Ironman with the Flash logo on the front. What should we call this little guy? Irondroid? Flashman?

Ironflashdroid man perhaps? This is very strange indeed and apparently at some point during the process of creating the ROM for the smartphone one of the devs had extra time on his or her hands. What would you call this new superhero?

One more thing: I’ve verified that the trick works even if the video isn’t filed under ‘Gaming’. You can try it out on this video. And no, it doesn’t seem to work with embedded videos.

Again, just click on the video once to “activate it”, then tap or hold the Left arrow key. I can’t believe we haven’t heard about this before even though it’s that simple to unlock – heck, the Left arrow key is the rewind button for YouTube clips.

Oh no! They really are taking over!

I think my favorite bit is “Robots have seen things you people wouldn’t believe.” I wish they had elaborated on that a bit, as I would love to get inside the robot mind. Oh wait they don’t have minds. Or is it that they don’t have souls? I get confused.

It turns out that the folks over in Redmond might have a sense of humor after all. I was working on getting my new install of Vista Ultimate up and running on my machine this weekend, and stumbled across this awesome easter egg.

It turns out that there’s an entire functional copy of the 1995 Microsoft BOB operating system hidden inside of Windows Vista. BOB was supposed to be an easy-to-use interface for Windows 3.2, complete with fuzzy animated characters (who eventually led to “Clippy” the paper clip in Microsoft Office.)

Here’s how I managed to activate it:

First, you need to make sure you have full administrative permissions on your machine. Then, go to the Start menu and enter “W.0.w.B.0.b.” (note that those are Zeros not Os) while holding down the Alt key. Then, set your system time zone to “Cairo”. The next time you reboot, type in the same phrase backwards and you’ll be in the Windows Bob environment, complete with all of the original features. Once BOB is activated you can set your clock back to your regular time zone.

Surprisingly, the new version of BOB has been updated to include integration with Outlook 2007, so you can actually see your calendar entries and e-mails in the BOB organizer. Post back and let me know which character is your favorite. Personally, I like Scuzz the Rat.
