The Ecobot-III does just that, plus it can poop itself. So, that’s more poop for the planet. Ecobot-I had an E. Coli engine that ran on refined sugar and Ecobot-II had sludge microbe engine that ate stuff like dead flies and prawn shells. The only problem was that they could not eject waste. They just kept cramming in new batteries until there was no room. You might say they became the world’s first constipated robots.

This third version can collect its own food and water and poop in a litter tray, which should prolong it’s life, but I guess someone has to change that tray now and again like changing a diaper. Ecobot is being funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, who, coincidentally have also invested in the creation of some shiny new toilets.

I say why stop here? It’s a fork and barbecue stick in one. Just make different sized versions and voila! Jabba the Huttdog holder, Keboba Fett holder, Darth Mallow holder (with prongs on each end, naturally)… the possibilities are endless. Although on second thought a rubber lightsaber mold that you can insert utensils into would work too.

With a name like Eat Them!, would you expect anything less? The new downloadable title from FluffyLogic was shown off at this week’s GamesCom show in Germany. In the game, you create custom monsters, and do your best to avoid being destroyed by the army while you smash the town and its people to bits. To me, it looks like a modern-day remake of games like Rampage or Crush, Crumble and Chomp!

Expect Eat Them! to stomp its way onto the PlayStation Network this December.

The Buckwheat Noodle Robot Sanuki Shokunin is designed to make the same type of buckwheat noodles that are typically the product of the precision knife skills of noodle chefs throughout Japan. The machine uses a special pasta dough kneader mechanism, along with a razor-sharp adjustable cutting blade to slice up precision pieces of pasta.

The Sanuki Shokunin can crank out up to 700 portions of noodles an hour, and can also make Chinese Noodles and traditional pasta too. Just load in some dough, push a couple of buttons to adjust the pasta size (in 0.1 mm increments) on the control screen, and watch the noodles fly.

And while the cake is fully edible (black icing, gumpaste ghosts and all) you might not want to try and eat the Pac-Couple – as they’re crafted from Super Sculpey. (Unless you’re into eating modeling clay.)

The hiyokomame (named for Japanese chick peas) chopstick practice set gives you everything you need to get your ‘stick-wielding talents in order without risk of spilling even a single grain of greasy fried rice on your just-pressed dress shirt.

Instead of trying to pick up bits of real grub, you’ll be delicately dipping into a bowl of little yellow plastic bean-shaped chicks. Each one stares blankly back at you as you pluck them from their bowl and they get ready to meet their maker in a sloshing pool of digestive acids.

While you’ll definitely be able to hone your chopstick skills with this wacky set, you should be reminded that the bite-size hiyokomame dudes are not edible, and gulping down a bowlful of toxic plastic and dyes with your new-found chopstick skills would probably send you to the emergency room to have your stomach pumped.

Pixel baker extraordinaire Hello Naomi is at it again with her video game baked goods. This time, they’re adorned with the 8-bit aliens who ate so many of our quarters way back when. I suppose it’s our turn to get back at them by biting their heads off. Mmmm, alien frosting.

Naomi has also been responsible for cranking out such wonderful video game delicacies as these Pac-Man, Super Mario and LEGO cupcakes.

The cake was made by one Papersatan (a pretty fitting name for a perpetrator of Astley-based crimes, eh?) for her boyfriend’s birthday. She made a fake cake-like covering out of a hatbox, which when removed reveals a real cake with Rick Astley’s (sort of) likeness and those catchy lyrics etched in icing.

It’s bad enough to be Rickrolled on your Internets, but on your birthday? Now that’s just mean.

Flickr contributor M.A.L. had this Mario Kart-inspired custom cake made for his recent wedding. This intricate Nintendo cake was crafted by the cake artisans of Costa Mesa, California’s Let Them Eat Cake. Amazingly, everything in these photos is 100% eat-able.

Mario, Peach, Luigi, Yoshi and numerous characters from the Mario Kart series make an appearance on this impeccable work of edible art.

You won’t find any 1up Mushrooms inside this cake, but the so-called “Chocolate Decadence” cake is loaded with yummy chocolate buttercream, ganache, mousse. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.

Created by Japan’s Solid Alliance, the case comes packaged in a clever styrofoam butcher’s tray which helps complete the meaty illusion. Now why you’d ever want your iPod to look like a slab of meat is anyone’s guess. My first instinct would be to throw my Nano on the grill and cook it over a 550-degree flame. For some reason, I don’t think that would be a good idea.

Hasbro’s Star Wars Candy Lightsabers are based on the authentic movie weapon designs for Darth Vader (red) and Anakin Skywalker (blue). They’re filled up with a gooey, glittery, edible, substance called “Spliquid”, which apparently comes in an assortment of fruity flavors.

So whenever you’re rarin’ to go into a sugar-induced coma, you can grab a dozen of these collectible suckers from Candy Warehouse for about $50.

Baked by Flickr contributor Mandrake88, this cake is most definitely does exist. And when she was done cooking up the companion cake, Mandrake had some extra dough lying around and baked up a batch of yummy companion cookies.

So it’s with much glee that I report that the Robosaurus is up for auction. That’s right, you can own the giant beast and put it on your front lawn to chomp on unpleasant neighbors (or at least melt their cars). Japan’s DARS 22° C premium chocolate bars now include a color-coded temperature gauge which tells you when the bar is at exactly 22° C (about 71.6° F), apparently the “perfect” climate for chocolately goodness.
