Yes, you heard me right. This awesome prop, created by special effect artist Robert Haiduga of Nephalim XFX is based on the T-800′s endoskeleton arm in Terminator 2, and it actually moves. This is a custom-built animatronic arm, and each joint moves thanks to a total of 12 servos. Movements are programmed on a PC and stored on an SD card. It even comes with sound effects to make it more authentic.

Including its base, the arm measures about 43 inches long, and appears to be made using metal components to really make it look like a robot. Each finger can move individually, and the wrist and entire arm can rotate as well. In action, it’s sufficiently freaky to induce nightmares. But enough talking, it’s time for showing. Pretty awesome, no? So why aren’t there 1000 people lined up to buy one? Well, since each arm takes many, many hours to build, they’re not cheap. You’ll need to pony up $3600 (USD) if you want your very own Terminator arm. And then on top of that, you’ll need to spend millions on a security system to keep Skynet from stealing it.

Not because I need it, but it’s also for charity (10% of the final sale price will be donated to the American Cancer Society) and it’s pretty darned cool. Of course, if I had that much money to throw around, I could probably also just have one drawn up and made for a tiny fraction of the price from some giant dryer hose. But just for private use, because the Human Slinky is probably already patented or something.

When you purchase the costume, you will also get the rights to perform the act under agreement, in addition to the costume itself. That’s right, this 1′ x 1′ x 1′ cardboard head has been signed by none other than the creator of Minecraft himself, Markus Persson. Owning this would be like owning a human head that’s been signed by God. Actually that’s kind of a gross image, forget I said that. Minecraft! Cardboard! Awesome!

You might be wondering why Pirate used an old PS3 SKU instead of one of the newer Slim models. That’s because the PS3 Slim wasn’t around when Pirate started this project way back in 2008. Ben Heck must have made a ton of PS3 laptops in between now and then, but then again none of them are liquid cooled. Speaking of which, Pirate used Feser One Cooling Fluid in this project. Other specs include a 720p/1080i screen (not sure if it’s 15″ or 17″), 4 USB ports, 500GB HDD, and built-in keyboard and speakers. Unfortunately the PSU is separate from the main unit, so minus points for portability there…

The colorful custom Transformer has pretty much fully-articulated joints, with head, shoulders, elbows, hips, knees and feet able to swivel and move.

Scorponok can switch between Robot and Scorpion Battlestation modes. In the latter, he wields a massive arsenal of 4 double-barrel cannons and 4 missile launchers. There’s even room for small figures of Cyclonus, Scourge and Lord Zarak to man the turrets and pilot the giant purple and green scorpion-bot.

ThyVipera built this bad-boy from “countless” Transformers parts and figurines, then hand-painted the whole thing. It’s really an incredible custom toy, and it’s already got bids nearing $1000 (USD) – and that’s with 5 days left to the auction.

The dual-core Tegra 2/4G phone will hit around April 15th, but someone managed to get hands on the smartphone before the official launch. How exactly the smartphone came to be in the person’s possession early is unknown. What we do know is that like any geek with something cool and early that they really don’t want for themselves, the owner hit eBay and put the smartphone up for auction.

The Buy-it-Now price was set at $999 (USD). No one bit at that price tag, but the auction did end with the smartphone fetching $799. That is still way more than I would ever pay for any phone. I would assume like most phones it will sell for $199 on contract when it lands in stores in a week or so.

Seriously though, if you’re a video game collector, seller macfamily_2007 has quite the cache. This collection is so complete that it has not one, not two, not three, but four Virtual Boy consoles – 2 different US versions and 2 different Japanese versions. It also includes a variety of accessories, and of course all of the Virtual Boy games ever released, including the demo games.

Macfamily_2007 claims that if no one buys the collection by April 9 he’ll take it down and may never ever part with it again. So if you’re interested in snapping up this mother load, head on to eBay now. Unfortunately, macfamily_2007 is not willing to ship the collection outside of the UK, but if you can spare $8,000+ for this then surely you can find a way to work around that.

This wasn’t a toy or a model mind you, but a real Harrier that last flew with the RAF in 1997. The kid hit the “Buy it Now” button on the $113,000 purchase and then the bad things happened. His dad found out he bought the jet and canceled the sale.  Apparently, Will Smith was right, parents just don’t understand.

The upside is that the seller cancelled without giving the man a hard time, and says that the boy actually helped them because the story brought more attention to the sale. The harrier can no longer fly, and according to some would take millions of pounds to return to flight capable.

I’m not saying that these shoes are ugly, just that the supposed crossover – the very reason why these shoes are rare – reeks of laziness. No PlayStation color scheme or graphics. Just one square patch of the classic PS Logo, which even looks out of place if you ask me.

But based on rarity alone, these are a must-have for Air Force 1 collectors or PlayStation devotees. According to the seller, these shoes never went on sale; they were released in 2006 but were given only to “Nike/Sony Friends & Family”. It’s simply listed as follows: “THIS IS A NICE DEPCO VIRTUAL REALITY VFX 3D INTERACTIVE IMAGING LOOKS IN GOOD SHAPE.” Actually guys, what you’ve got here is a rare VFX3D virtual reality headset from way back in the dark ages of 2000. This helmet straps onto your head and covers your eyeballs with dual-stereoscopic 3D images. It also featured early head-tracking tech that worked with a handful of 3D PC games like Descent 3 and Unreal Tournament. But before you get too excited about this thing, the tiny LCD displays only had a paltry resolution of 263×480, only 263×240 in 3D mode. It also only worked with old versions of DirectX (version 7 to be exact).

I actually think the guys selling this thing don’t realize that the cable box underneath it has nothing to do with this thing. The system originally sold for $1800, but if you’re willing to take a gamble with $750 (USD) of your hard-earned money, you can grab this rarity over on eBay now, and you can find the drivers and SDK here.

From what I can tell, only about 10 of these machines were ever made, and they lived within the walls of Apple. Now, if you’ve got deep enough pockets, you could be the proud owner of one of these extreme rarities. Apparently, these machines were built for the Macintosh R&D team at Apple to verify the placement of internal components, and never were intended for production.

This particular see-through Mac SE is being offered over on eBay with a starting bid of a whopping $25,000 (USD). For that price, you could buy a pretty nice car. Or 50 iPads. And this transparent Macintosh doesn’t even boot up properly. The guy selling it says it’ll boot off of the 800k floppy drive only. And being such a rarity, I’d doubt that cracking it open and fixing the hard drive would be good for its resale value.

Imagine if they had actually released this thing back when it was made. What if it came out and bombed? Would the transparent iMac have ever seen the light of day?

The entire Fortress rig is available now over on eBay. Scott built the diorama in an “L” shape, but says it could be modified to fit another setting too. It’s made from a wooden base, with three sizes of paper “crystal” tubes that slide over acrylic mounts. There are also a number of LEDs throughout the setup to make the whole thing glow.

As an added bonus, the Fotress includes a clear plastic “hologram” mask of Jor-El (or is it Marlon Brando?) to hang on your wall – or to wear on your face if you’re into such things. There are currently no bids on the Fortress, and Scott will let the whole thing go for a Buy it Now price of $450. Keep in mind that since this thing will be difficult to transport, he’d prefer a local pickup somewhere in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The first one just recently hit the auction block, and it looks like it’s pretty nicely constructed. It’s based on the internals of a full PS3 Slim, with a 250GB hard drive on board. The case is built from a durable aluminum frame covered with a polystyrene top and sides.

There’s a 19-inch 1440×900 LED/LCD monitor in the lid, attached digitally to the PS3 via an HDMI-DVI connection. The laptop also features a 2-watt stereo amp and speakers built-in. There’s also no need for an external power supply. Pictures of the build can be found over on ImageShack.

Note that he improved the cooling fan after shooting the video, so it’s supposed to be much quieter thanks to a temperature-controlled fan.

The whole rig weighs in at a rather hefty 16 pounds, which puts it firmly in the “luggable” category. As a matter of fact, it weighs the same as the original Macintosh Portable. But this is way cooler than an old Mac 128k, dontcha think? It seems that the console – along with a wooden TV – was made for an exhibit. The sculpture is said to be so well made, “it appears to be a functional Nintendo at first glance.” I’m inclined to disagree since, well, it looks like a wooden sculpture at first glance.

As a result, Lucasfilm sent Wicked Lasers a cease and desist letter demanding that the laser get a disclaimer that it wasn’t associated with Lucasfilm or Star Wars along with some printed clippings of stories printed online that called the thing a lightsaber. Apparently, the legal battle is now raging and Lucasfilm wants the thing off the market.

Wicked Lasers is offering the real cease and desist letter on eBay in an auction that will get the winner the full packet from Lucasfilm that we shall refer to as the packet of douchebaggery. Bidding is up to $355 last I checked, and that letter would be great mounted in a holder with the laser below it. Wicked Lasers people reading this: send me one of these lasers and a pic of our pal George.
